I've been eating at Waffle House for decades in many different states. It's always a nice visit. And we do it every Christmas. Always. But today.... Not so much. The food was amazing, as always. The server, Eve, was very pleasant and took good care of us. The restaurant was very nasty, both behind the counters and where the customers sit. The cooks were quite busy but most of the waitresses were standing around talking about how it wasn't as busy as expected and other things instead of taking the initiative to clean up. I mentioned it to our waitress and she mentioned it to the manager and he had her sweep the customer area. To top it off, one of the waitresses was touching food (bacon) with her bare hands after the cooks had prepped it before bagging it for a to-go order. Twice! The 1st order she was counting the pieces of bacon so she was touching each one and I figured it was for herself and maybe she was taking a break but then she put it down to cover it and packed it to go. The 2nd time was after she had just handled the register. I mentioned it to the manager and he seemed nice but too nice to talk to her right away about the 2nd order hence the food was given to the customer picking it up. I let him know it's the worst experience we've ever had at Waffle House.
Disappointing to put it lightly. This is one of the few 1 star reviews I've ever given but the atmosphere was bad enough to ruin...
Read moreThis is a great place for a slice of pie and a cool glass of milk! I had the chocolate and tried the pecan, both were deliciously thick and satisfying. I would definitely return if I lived in the area. I had the hash browns country style and "All-the-Way," (with ever topping). It was too big to finish for either of us! You won't leave unsatisfied here! The location was very clean and detailed, and the staff took care to practice proper PPE and distancing precautions. The host with the eyebrow piercing was extremely attentive and espectful, with attention to detail in his duties and efficiency that most servers don't have. He was one who was naturally good at his job and knew just what to do and how long to take when he got there, very thorough and attentive but not overbearing or distracting. I can say you just don't see that behavior from hosts and FOH staff. He truly did his job well and as a former Executive Chef I can say with confidence he deserves both accolade and compensation -- he truly made the meal enjoyable and did his job astoundingly well. Give that guy a raise or a bonus! He is...
Read moreWell, tonight we stopped in and when we walked in we were told just one moment, eating in , or take out , we said eating in, she said with frustration, just a moment. Only two tables had people, there were two tables dirty, she finally cleaned off
one, but we wanted the corner booth. They were changing shifts, but she was so rude and didn't clean off the table we wanted, she said you can sit there at that table, we again said we wanted the corner table, now to me it makes since to clean both to make room for other customers to sit at. But she ignored us and did something else , we just got a bad feeling and said let's go , answer said we are leaving , she was a smart *!! and said good night!! and we said yea the food was great and the service was out of this world!!!, So I guess the waitresses don't care to help with cleaning tables and welcome guest. The loss is great because we have been there from 4 to 6 times in the past 3 months. But no more. Too bad the cook is so lazy he knew we were waiting for a table too and just stood there . Very lazy and now they have lost...
