There are numerous reasons.
I initially booked on July 6th on reservation but had to cancel that reservation due to scheduling conflicts but did rebook on a different reservation for July 25-29th.
When I booked on the 6th the hotel website showed pictures of the breakfast area and several of the items shown were not present and available to us during our stay. The photos showed a waffle maker and also a warming station (generally used for eggs, sausage and other hot foods at other hotels). A decent breakfast should have been provided instead of the sub quality options provided. When mentioned to staff and were told it was taken out when Covid came around. I am personally tired of businesses using that excuse to not provide quality service to its customers.
The lack of bath linens is ridiculous. Enough linens should be provided for all guests expected to stay in the room. If a room will accommodate 4 guest, each guest should have a towel and wash cloth available in the room upon arrival. Not 3 towels and 3 wash cloths. Guests should not have to constantly request these types of items.
Your staff comes back and forth to guest rooms. They gather dirty linens, wait on them to be laundered, and hours later they bring the clean linens to the rooms. Guests should not be interrupted multiple times just to get clean linens. Staff should make 1 round. Gather dirty linens and replace with clean ones during one visit to the room. Their carts should have a large bag for dirty linens and clean linens should be on a shelf and readily available before they leave each room. It would be best to begin their rounds at the vacated rooms from early departures to allow guests staying additional nights time to bathe before housekeeping comes to the room.
We were on vacation but housekeeping began their 1st round not long after 9 and everyone in our party had not completed their showers by then on most days.
The bed linens are extremely worn and should be replaced in phases.
One of our rooms had a used/dirty towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door the day we arrived that had been overlooked by housekeeping. It was taken to the front desk. Perhaps room audits should be performed after the rooms are "cleaned".
One of the housekeepers had a child arrive to work with her. When I passed by one of the rooms, the child, possibly 11, was spraying cleaner and wiping areas in the room he was cleaning with the person he had arrived with. That is...
Read moreThis is going to be a detailed review. For starters, checking in was fast and easy. They had two large luggage carts available in the front door area. I happened to be using a walker that day, and the receptionist found me a room nearby on the first floor. She also matched the discount I found online even though I decided not to go through with the online reservation. They do take AAA discount and it is 5% as long as you have your membership card with you and aren’t combining with a different discount. The room smelled clean as soon as we walked in, the a/c was off but it cooled the room within ten minutes of turning it on. They had direct tv with a bunch of channels including hbo. The tv and microwave had to be plugged in but worked perfectly after doing so. The ice machine was nearby too. This was an emergency stay so we really appreciated the fact that they have a washer and dryer available for public use. $2 for the washer and $2 for the dryer; however, the dryer was a bit slow and required an additional $2 to dry our small load of clothing. Still worth it not to have to buy more clothes. The bathroom was small but very clean. The hot water never ran out after two people showered for 30 minutes each. The had individual tiny bottles for shampoo and conditioner and two individually wrapped body/face soap bars. I prefer this method over other hotels that use large bottles stuck to the wall that are simply refilled after each customer. The bathroom door was side enough that I could easily get in with my walker. The shower curtain must be placed inside the shower so the water doesn’t get everywhere - common knowledge but some people don’t realize it’s out when they initially step in. The towels smelled slightly like bleach and there were at least four full sized ones. The beds were extremely comfortable, firm yet soft, and each bed had four pillows on it. We didn’t make it out in time for breakfast, but the coffee and juice were still available to the late arrivers. The orange juice in this place is the whole reason I decided to write this review. You guys, I’ve never had hotel-breakfast-bar orange juice that was this tasty. Not sharp nor sour then hit by overwhelming sugar the way all the others have been in my experience. This orange juice was slightly tangy with the perfect sweetness. I drank like three cups. They also had regular and decaf for coffee along with different flavored mini creamers and plenty of sugars. Check out was...
Read moreIf I could give negative stars I would. Looks are very deceiving. I traveled 14+ hours for the holidays and picked this hotel because I have had luck with the same brand in other cities, NEVER AGAIN. Check in process was ok, went to room T.V. didn't work. Called the front desk , she couldn't be too bothered since her friend was there and she was taking out his truck for s spin. Said she would check but never did. Left the room and came back 8 hours later and still no TV. While using the bathroom saw a roach climbing on the walls and requested to be switched to a different room. Checked into that room, ladybugs all over the heating unit and this room had no fire alarm. Checked the room didn't see any other bugs or evidence so thought everything was ok. Plus, we had driven so far, I was tired and decided to deal with it in the morning. My boyfriend woke me up telling me he kill 4 roaches in the bathroom, tried calling Choice Hotels since I had booked through then and that was freaking horrendous. We went down to the front desk(Micheal was nice but he could only do so much) and he switched us to another room again. I have no clue when the last time this room was cleaned, there was so many bugs on the heating unit and the floor. Spit on the walls and I dont know what was by the lamp on the floor. We ended up checking out but had to go back to the second room to get our stuff and there was a roach on the wall. I was in tears, I was so aggravated. Choice Hotels wanted to give us another Quality Inn room somewhere else, I think not. Wasn't able to find somewhere else to sleep for a hour. Went to get our clothes out the car and there was a roach in the bag. SMDH. Called to speak to the manager today to get a full refund as we were told he would be in at 10. He wasn't there and the person who answered the phone was no helped and couldn't care less. If I could post pictures i would. I WILL NEVER STAY AT ANOTHER QUALITY...
