Great campground. Can’t beat the price and the proximity to the commissary and exchange. Lots of shade. Fairly level sites with a concrete patio. Quiet. AT&T full LTE service. Made a reservation a few months out of our planned stay. Was hoping for a long term site to open up, and it did. A few things to note: 1. If you are looking for a long term site, the office only goes off of the sites 180 day date.. like the site I’m in now I COULD stay here until March. So the office assumes that this site will be booked until March. They really don’t check the sites for vacancy’s. Someone in a long term site could pull out today even though they haven’t hit their 180 day mark. So the office really doesn’t know that a site is open since they seem to not check. 2. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to the west gate. We have a 44ft fifth wheel. I should have anticipated the gate having barricades up, but I didn’t. It was a TIGHT fit weaving in and out of the barricades. Luckily I didn’t hit anything. If you have a big rig, be prepared.

Since the new "director" came in its only getting worse. There's supposedly sites for reservation now, but he won't disclose which ones. New rates and policies seem to be made up out of thin air. $100 raise in monthly rate, still no internet or tv (which is fine). I just came from DMAFB and Yuma Proving Grounds famcamps, super clean, attentive and respectful staff. This place could be way better, the money doesn't represent the value. Im not sure FSS is actually aware of these changes. And now there is a breed restriction on dogs just an FYI if you travel with pets.

Great monthly rates! Beautiful views at Postyl Point and lots of trails to walk at both FamCamp sites. Staff was generally courteous but very stringent on the rules. One big negative is if you stay at Postyl Point, there is the possibility of a bad weather evacuation. The troubling part is that there's no plan in place for where you can go until it reopens. Basically fend for yourself and have fun with your big rig out there in the storm...

My overall experience was excellent. This review is about a month late but i need to make it known that Irma at the Famcamp Office was the BEST! I was traveling with my brother in 2 RVs and left a VM at the office looking for availability. I missed the call back and ended up rolling the dice and showing up to see if there was any availability. I arrived about an hour after the office closed and saw Irma at the back office on the phone. I expected her to sign to me, we are closed... but she gladly let me in and helped us get checked in. She gave us the breakdown on the amenities and local attractions. She made sure we were taken care of. She was a breath of fresh air and her customer service was exceptional. Our stay was great! We stayed at Postil Point, right next to the water. Beautiful location. The downside was the power was not functioning due to the storms the previous year. We had water hookup and a dump station nearby. Also clean bathrooms with showers there. The view and not having many other campers around was worth not having power. We ran the generator when needed. The base exchange was close by with a nice food court. Nice little beach area with volleyball court along with boat rental. The kids (and me) loved seeing the different jets flying all the time. Will definitely return!...

When I finally found the campground and the two entrances, I found no signs directing campers to an office or check-in site. After locating it at the rear of the campground, I went inside to check in. The man at the desk made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. I commented that they should consider a sign at the entrance directing newcomers to the office. His reply was a shrug of his shoulders and informing me that check in was at 3 and it was only 1:15. He told me I could check in now but it would cost another $20. Ive stayed at numerous Famcamps, over the US and snever had to pay an early arrival fee. Ive been told other Famcamps that if my space was available and it was after 12, there was no problem. I didn't want to leave and drive around for less than 2 hours so I paid the "early arrival" fee. He gave me my receipt and said"OK, you can go to your site". When I told him again that this is my first time here, he went to a cabinet and slid a brochure at me and said "there's a map on there, have a nice day" and went back to his computer. Sorry this is a bit long, but I've never been treated so shabbily at a Military Famcamp. Never come back...

We made a reservation for 3 weeks. First time here. Sadly our fault for not reading the email in its entirety where it said we move to another site for the last 2 days. They never said anything to us when we checked in whatsoever. The day we were to move since we didn’t know ended up not moving till 1630. The people ended up going to another site they actually liked better and all was fine. However they told us we still had to move so we did. Then they called us the following day and said it would be charged a late fee of $35. Now mind you nobody has ever even moved into that spot. My Husband asked why? She replied that it was for her manpower of being on the phone for 15 min moving the other people. It seems a little ridiculous that aren’t more understanding or kind. She literally lied to us and said the people moved in the next day and our friends said nobody is there. There is zero cable or internet and it’s the same price of $35 a night if you’re in full hook up or partial hookup. They make you pay up front and won’t let you leave or you forfeit all your money. Very disappointing. Won’t be coming back but I’m sure...
