Employees rude, price are not so great, commissary should show the real price we pay for the groceries before we get to the registers. Should show the price with the 5% added because that is the real price we pay for it. If you go to any other grocery store you don’t pay taxes for your groceries, here you pay 5% (surcharge) aka “tax”for your groceries, so if I go to Publix I know exactly how much my bill is going to be at the end for my groceries, not at the commissary that at the end 5% is going to be added to your bill. Cans with indentations, produce not so fresh. Do the test go to Walmart and buy few thing and them the same items at the commissary you will see the different and also you can buy store brand in Walmart that at the end save you even more. I purchased my groceries at the commissary for almost 14 years thinking I was saving money, I’m glad I open my eyes and now I go to regular stores for...
Read moreThere's no two alike. I shopped at Eglin about a month ago and the choices seemed limited and the stockers were not at all helpful or claimed not to understand English. But four days ago I was shopping at McDill and it was well stocked and even had some hard to find items that many commissary's just don't seem to have, as different as day and night. The new commissary at JAX has too many issues to mention and it's obvious they don't monitor or rotate the stock as I have to spend half my time checking expiration dates. Overall, the commissary system "DECA" can't compete with Publix, Walmart and Amazon and the price difference is so razor thin it's normally not worth the effort to shop there unless you're shopping for bulk items. The gas prices on Post/Base are the same or higher as in town, Zero savings. The Exchange system has lost its edge it had many years ago and what little savings there is...
Read moreStock on the shelves is more plentiful than most of base stores, was in last week and unable to get meat cut as the equipment was down for maintenance with no estimated completion date, and as others have said, meat prices are comparable to everybody off base but what they didn't say is you can no longer get that three quarter inch or 1 in thick t-bone steak like you used to it's if you're lucky 3/8 of an inch which makes grilling a little bit difficult to get it just right... But the million dollar question is whatever happened to the cost savings in the commissary systems where the commissaries were supposed to have lower prices than off base?? And now you can go to the p produce and meat departments at Walmart and get the same lower quality for the same price that you pay at the...
