Just stayed there this weekend for a soccer tournament and was insulted and appalled with the maintenance/ security person. Check inn was easy on Friday evening. Got to the room and the bathroom door would not close. Maintenance person stated she would fix it the next day, which never happened. Saturday morning wake up to find that 3 or 4 cars were broken into overnight. After a long day at the soccer field some of the parents went to the lobby for some adult time and the others stayed with the kids (8 and 9 year olds) to put them to bed. Security came by the lobby area and stated we were loud as well as another group sitting next to us. We lowered the volume and felt that out of respect for the other guest we should move our conversations out to the pool area. The security person comes outside and tells us we are not to have drinks by the pool. We said okay and asked if we could just finish what was in our cups. She agrees then informs us that the pool closes at 11pm and asked that we clean up the area once we were done. Less than 5 minutes pass and she come back with a form we were asked to sign which states we would keep our children supervised at all time and we would be responsible for any damages to the hotel as a resulted of being intoxicated. She demands we leave the pool area at once and proceeds to tell us that our children are running around the hotel and are unattended. We are all taken back by this as we know our kids have someone with them and are sleeping by this time. The security then proceeds to point at me (in front of my friends) and tell me that on this night and Friday night she seen my kid misbehaving in the hallways. In shock I asked her if she was sure of the accusation she was making and she said yes. I informed her that my son was in the room with his mother as soon as we arrived and went straight to bed. I also asked her to describe my son. She immediately changed and stated that we were all intoxicated (curious as to her qualification to make that statement) and as per the formed we sign she could throw us out of the hotel. Someone from our group requested to speak with the manager. We were told the manager was called. We proceed to sit in the lobby to wait for the manager while we enjoyed some of the hotels complimentary tea. Security came out and told us we needed to leave the lobby. When we told her we were waiting for the manager and having some tea she said if we did not leave at once she would call the police. We were not being loud. We were just sipping tea and waiting. She did call the police however, never called the manager. Police asked us to drop the issue as the hotel could ask us to leave for any reason. Police knocked on my door at eleven at night, frightening my son and daughter. The Police officers did not see that there was a need for the security to have called them and agreed we had done nothing wrong. Next morning we ran into the other group that was in the lobby at the beginning of the evening told them what had happen and they told us it was their teenage boys that were running around. Security needs to gather all the fact before accusing anyone of wrong doing.
I felt my character was put into question on a number of levels by someone who is unqualified to act as a security guard or judge. Needless to say, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. This is not what I expect from a Marriott Hotel. Our team and club will never stay at this hotel again and I will let the tournament know they should consider removing them from a preferred...
Read moreExcellent staff in every single department. These folks love working for their customers. Cleanest window glass in the business. Kudos to Housekeeping (and the exterior window wash vendor). Built ~2009 in a serene UTTERLY QUIET setting. Eventually, development will create commercial construction nearby. We WILL stay here again. YET: No communication on honoring our King reservation: Yet Fairfield gave ZERO COMMUNICATION that they were substituting a mattress for our weeks-old confirmed King mattress reservation. Corporate Policy did not allow the desk staff to alert us at check-in. Corporate Policy did not allow any communication to us in the many weeks our Confirmed King Reservation existed. We opened the door. SURPRISE. The hotel was sold-out on check-in day. Excellent breakfast buffet with caring kitchen staff. Absolute A+ meal. Government decision regarding departure traffic light: If you want to leave and drive straight across the street at the traffic signal, the signal only accommodates right-hand turns OR left-hand turns. So, if you want to cross the street (no real need for traveling in this direction unless you want gas, a different hotel, or a snack), then you must "run the green arrows " and go straight across on a left green arrow (at a safe moment). Workable. Yet odd. Departing to cross the local highway, you will wait at the traffic signal all day. You will never get a "go straight across" signal. At least the government workers painted the lanes accordingly. One lane is painted with a white left-turn arrow. The other lane is painted with a white right-turn arrow. The government painter correctly painted zero "straight across this intersection" arrow because the overhead traffic signal does NOT officially accommodate "straight across this intersection" customers. Quite odd. We can't control the government. Yet we can "run the green arrows " and go straight across on a left green arrow (at a...
Read moreI booked thins hotel through booking website and was set to arrive there late at night with my twin 7 year old children after a long day at bush gardens. Wen we arrived close to 11 ok at night, my wife and children were exhausted from a long drive, as was I. When I entered the hotel there were two sliding glass doors, one opened immediately the 2nd didn’t open right away, after knocking on the window to see if someone working there could help, I instinctively tried to see if the door was jammed, as often happens, and the 2nd door opened. When I entered the hotel a heavyset lady named Amy at the front desk immediately started yelling at me for opening the second door without a key. When I informed her I had just got there and have not yet received the key for my reservation she told me that she would not be honoring my reservation. I told her I was there with two sleepy kids so n the car and wished to speak with a manager as we had come a long way and didn’t have energy to find another hotel. She exclaimed that she was the manager. I said I wanted a refund then, and she coldly said I would not receive one and to leave or police would be called. As I attempted to call the Marriott customer service number as she walked to the back room, I saw that she indeed did call the police…who accosted me in the lobby in front of 2 tired children just looking for a place to sleep. Though the police agreed that she was ridiculous, they admitted there was nothing they could do, and that we had to leave, as she was the only representative of that hotel at that time. Needless to say I will be filing a chargeback and complaint. Beware of Amy, she seems to be an emotionally charged worker with no care for customer service, or even honoring reservations at her discretion. The general manager will be notified, but I’d stay away from this...
