I found BrewBurgers while hunting for a local Venice burger joint that wasn’t Culver’s. With two locations—one convenient, one not—I hit their website to order online. I clicked the location I wanted, expecting a clear way to confirm it, but the ordering process never specified or let me choose. I assumed it was set correctly, only to show up at the Back Porch spot and learn my food was at the regular location. So, I drove over there, grabbed my order, and continued to my destination—what should’ve been a quick stop turned into a tedious trek.
Pickup at the regular BrewBurgers was a fiasco. I walked up to the bar register and was ignored so blatantly it felt like I’d thrown on an invisibility cloak. Two employees were there, and neither acknowledged me. One stood behind the bar, finagling with some things, then walked right past me—without even a glance—to go clean a table, despite me standing there, clearly just arrived and waiting for help. The other stood chewing a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before strolling off to the kitchen. She eventually came back, and I had to say, “excuse me” to get helped. She then politely proceeded to hand over my food—minus the $3+ soda I’d paid for, which I only noticed after leaving. I’ve never been so completely overlooked, especially since the place wasn’t even busy. It’s one thing to wait, and another to be completely ignored in a place that isn’t even busy.
The food? Incredibly disappointing, especially for the price. For a burger-focused spot, the burgers were underwhelming. My colleague, who I got a burger for too, agreed Five Guys would’ve been a much better choice. The fries and homemade chips were forgettable—they actually tasted weird. This was a two-star ordeal, tops. Next time I’m in Venice, I’m...
Read moreWe stopped in on our way through on a trip. Mainly because they have a Tesla charging station on site. We have stopped by to charge a few times but this trip coincided with lunch so we figured we would pay patronage. I’m not saying it was bad but it wasn’t great either. They open at 11am and we got there soon after. Like 11:05/10. It still took them a few minutes to get to us the first time for drinks. And then even longer to take our order. Once we got our order you can tell right off that they are not hand made burgers but they also don’t lay claim that they are. They are premade standard burgers you can pick up at your local grocery store. I typically order a burger a little over cooked just because of the juices they produce and don’t want my bun soggy. They were both still a little undercooked but they did toast the business side of the buns and that helps to offset the juices. Past that the toppings were fresh and plentiful and came with a side of your choice. Typical chooses like tater tots, fries, slaw, apple sauce, things like that. See menu I’m also posting. Overall it was a typical experience and filling but a little overpriced like most things these days. My cheeseburger $12.99, added bacon $1.99, and jalapeños $0.99 comes out to around $16.00 with my wife x2 $32.00. After that and a couple sodas, free refills btw and a tip we walked out shy of $50. If the burger meat was fresh and handmade would have made a huge difference. And worth the price of admission. They were also taking a lot of phone in orders and were picking up with the local population and POPO when we were leaving so they are popular for the area and apparently have a few locations. We won’t be back but give an overall three out of five stars for the...
Read moreOur fourth time dining here and honestly the least satisfying.
Party of four, two had various burgers and two had various salads. Salads were nice portions and both diners said they were delicious.
Both parties having burgers were less than impressed. Honestly they tasted good, but size wise, we could have been at McDonalds. The size of the burgers were about 3/8” thick, no where near what we have dined on and thoroughly enjoyed before. We had about and inch thick of lettuce, slice of cheese and a very disappointing thin burger topped with BBQ sauce. Again, tasty but for about $12-13 each, NOPE!
The female wait-staff look like they all looked unimpressive in their way too small Yoga pants, highlighting things no one wishes to see while dining. The two females with us were very disgusted. No pride in their appearance, not even a business Tshirt, just tattoos and camel toes. Not very businesslike.
As a prior business owner in a very similar industry, I would never allow my staff to look like they do every time we come there. This is on the ownership 100% for allowing such.
We recommend this restaurant as well as the bagel location to everyone we meet due to prior good experiences. This time we were very disappointed.
To end on a positive note, the marshmallow dip with sweet potato fries is beyond amazing tasting. Service has ALWAYS been good even when overly busy. The atmosphere here is a fun. We will return to see if things change or not. Hopefully management takes complaints seriously, especially with staff attire, every person within ear length were heard discussing the...
