NO BEACH. Disappointed with my stay March 11 to 16, 2024. The reason I came back to this motel was to get up each morning and walk the beach with my dachshund then to sit on the beach and enjoy a quiet sunset. I understand the motel management has no control over storms and beach erosion. The issue I have is the conditions were not explained to me when I spoke with the manager to book for this stay. The motel website leads visitors to a section that includes beach chairs, umbrellas.etc. that are available. They may be but you can't use them here. In addion to this the neighbor had a contractor working daily starting at 8am running a bobcat right beside my room window with sand from the dumpster parked on the street in a very non-compliant workzone. Dangerous pulling in and out and also Dangerous when going out for a street walk. There is construction occurring daily at the motel also so not as quiet as I would have wanted for the stay. Again, storm caused damages and I get it. The lack of communication about this and beach access is the issue.||The motel is quaint and the room was clean so no complaints there. When I checked in I complained to the manager that she didn't inform me of no beach as it had been in past visits and her response was "did you ask" which of course prompted me to be more upset. When I asked about not staying she told me she would charge me for the entire stay because of my attitude. Yes I had an attitude because I felt it was very misleading to omit important facts related to beach access that is no longer and construction occurring.||Be aware of this if you plan to stay at this motel. They probably won't tell you either. I spoke with other guests and they told me they were not aware of this prior to traveling...

My husband and I stayed here while on our honeymoon and loved every moment. Our unit was clean and stocked with more than what we needed! We stayed in Unit 5 and had a private entrance to and from the beach. The resort also has beach chairs, beach toys, umbrellas, and anything else you can think of free for guests to use. I brought my own beach chair but didn’t even bother getting it out so I wouldn’t have to worry about getting sand into the car. Also have a washer/dryer available for guests and just ask for $1 in return for using their equipment and detergent. Not busy at all and very private. A perfect place for people who don’t like to be in big crowds! We can’t wait for our next stay!
For future guests, our favorite restaurants were Juicy Seafood in Savannah (about 20 minutes from the hotel) and Pops Sunset Grill (about 10 minutes from the hotel). We tried many of the local restaurants like Deep Lagoon (didn’t like this place at all) and Casey Key Fish House (I think maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes here because they have very good reviews). Yoders Amish Restaurant had the best biscuit and gravy either of us have ever had and we were both raised in the south with biscuits and gravy regularly. It is a must do for breakfast!
The only thing we would have liked are instructions for check out, maybe places on the fridge or somewhere similar. They may have been some but if there were, we overlooked them. We cleaned up after ourselves before leaving but wasn’t sure about what was “required.” Regardless, it was definitely...
