I have stayed here before. The first time was about three years ago. Something has gone terribly wrong since then. We arrived midday and were greeted by a locked office, so we chose a spot and pulled in anyway. The first thing I noticed was the large amount of RV's that look like they should be hauled off to the junkyard (I drive a vintage rig, so have no problem with older rigs in good condition). The laundry room has been locked up due to the fact all the machines are broken, according to the girl who finally showed up in the office for a few minutes. The 'rec' room appears to never get opened now, the pool is green and slimy, the grounds are no longer getting watered, the wi-fi connection is the slowest I have seen anywhere in a very long time AND the prices have gone up (ask about the $10 service fee!). Did I mention that the ceiling in the ladies room is literally falling into the shower? Or that the restrooms haven't been cleaned in what looks like weeks? I wouldn't be surprised if the building department condemns this place soon. We will not be back and I doubt we will hear anything from the owners about the terrible accommodations since they asked for absolutely no contact info or even our names (is that...
Read moreDon't let the name fool you, there is no shade other than the shady people that are always meandering around the dilapidated, overgrown park. The Wi-Fi did not work at all despite our many mentions to the front desk/administration. The bathrooms were disgusting. The front office was frequently and arbitrarily closed. There was NO POOL ACCESS NOR WATER IN POOL FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH WE STAYED until the last day we were there it was being filled. The arcade near the front office was closed without explanation, thus all the amenities advertised weren't able to be used. I felt scared at night to walk my dogs due to the high volume of suspicious cars and vagrants , and the general nefarious activity happening around us. Also, one of the new owners as well as staff were not only vocally racist, but spoke about homeless people as if they were a different, unwanted species with no tact or compassion. Won't be staying there ever again, nor would I reccomend it unless you're idea of a good time is paying to see what the povertous, high desert lifestyle is...
Read moreWe recently stayed at the Shady Oasis Kampground for the second time in less than a year. The first time was in the fall, we arrived late and didn't really get a chance to look around. This visit in May was different. We arrived mid-day and were assigned a spot near the highway, which was very noisy. The grounds hadn't been maintained - we actually had to pull weeds and pick up trash from around our RV so we could get into it without having weeds all over our shoes and clothes. Except for the extended stay sites, all of the sites were full of weeds and many full of trash. We had made reservations and when we arrived there was no record of our reservations, but there were plenty of sites available so that worked out OK. The pictures show it as a lovely park and it could be a lot nicer if it were cleaned and...
