Nice clean place. Rooms a little on the small side. It's was clean anyway. Some of the cookware, toaster and coffee maker wasn't what I'd consider clean. Some is hard water staining in the Coffeemaker. It also looks way too used to be in this newer hotel. (No big deal as they have very good coffee in the lobby) I realize that during the eclipse they were probably packed and that alone makes things tough on hotel staff. They did have a nice breakfast available day of, but it was quite disorganized. Almost no visible staff maintaining it. Saw guests digging out more plates, utensils, etc. Ran out of some items a couple hours before the end of breakfast. I wasn't around to see if it was replenished. This was when my wife finally made it down for her breakfast. The next day, I went in about 45 min after opening and not all the offerings were even ready yet. They forgot to turn on the waffle maker. Maybe they have high turnover in employees, I don't know. Maybe the need a checklist, again, I don't know. But seemed very disorganized and short staffed. Don't appreciate the MORE than double the price rate per night. $118 on the Marriott App for "normal" stay. $293 per night for the eclipse. Sunday, Monday leaving Tuesday AM. $662 for the entire stay. A fellow guest said they forced him and his family to stay Tuesday night as well because they came in on Sunday. That didn't happen to us. After all that, it's not a deal breaker for staying here. Raising rates on busy weekends is nothing new I guess. We could have gone elsewhere, but it's the same everywhere. It's clean and quiet. And the food they did have was very good. They handled the parking for eclipse very well with assigned spaces. Oddly, it didn't seem as packed as I thought it would be. There were a few empty spaces and we never ran into a lot of people. There weren't very many viewing in the parking lot.
Overall, you should certainly stay here if your in need of a hotel and...
Read moreI wish you had a higher rating than a 10, because, this TownePlace deserves a 10+. This was our first time staying at a TownePlace, and because of this stay, we will DEFINITELY consider TownePlace in the future. We are frequent travelers, who are always looking for clean, up-to-date places that offer complimentary breakfast with our stay. This hotel fit the bill. Let me start by saying that Juliza welcomed us with a smile. We met Jack, who takes care of maintenance, the next day along with Julie, Kelly and Nicole. With ALL of our travels, this has been the only place so far, where EVERY person on staff truly had a genuine concern that ALL of our needs were met AND that they were met above our satisfaction. Jack does an amazing job in maintenance, making sure that all is working well. He is very professional and quick to take care of any issues. Julie is an amazing manager. You can just tell by the way she interacts with the guests and the employees that she truly loves her job and the people she works with. Nicole was always smiling, whether she was working breakfast or cleaning rooms. We were there for 4 nights, and the kindness and professionalism never stopped. The room was spacious with a full kitchen area, beautifully decorated and up-to-date, AND very clean. Delicious breakfast choices with great hours of service. Thank you for that! They even offer hard boiled eggs in addition to the cooked egg choice. Coffee, tea and hot cocoa are available 24 hours. They even have a basket filled with BBQ utensils that you can borrow, if you want to grill something outside on the patio grill. This place should be renamed TowneHome, because here, they make you feel at home. Thank you to all the staff at this TownePlace in Vincennes, IN. You made our very first stay in Indiana, AND at a TownePlace, an amazing one. Keep up the incredible work! We were sad to leave, but, we will definitely be back. ...
Read moreRoom was good albeit a little pricey. We were told (and there was a sign in the lobby) that breakfast was open until 10:30 on Saturday. We got down to the lobby at 9:50am to no hot food or coffee whatsoever other that the do it yourself waffles and cereal. My wife, myself and 2 other people sat there for 10 minutes waiting and no one came to replenish. I then said something to the girl at the front desk who said she'd let them know. About 10 minutes after that a girl came and replenished the coffee. She then started cleaning up the breakfast area and asked the lady making a waffle if she was finished because she was shutting down breakfast. We told her it was only 10:10 and breakfast was supposed to be until 10:30. She said she didn't have her phone on her so she didn't realize what time it was. My wife told her that was unacceptable as this is her job, so how can that be a legitimate excuse? The other people we were sitting with left very frustrated and I went to the front desk to speak to someone. The girl who was cleaning up the breakfast area then walked by and went through the door behind the front desk and slammed it shut. I asked for a manager when the front desk girl finally came back and she said they're not here because it's the weekend. So I called this morning to speak to a manager and she told me again they weren't there but should be in around 10:00 and to call around 12:00. I said so they get in a 10:00 but call at 12:00? She said yeah, they have meetings and stuff when they get here. Nice to know that the management is that hard to get ahold of. Room was fine other than a towel with a dirty hand print hanging on the back of the bathroom door when we got there but because of this experience we would never stay here again. Taking pride in your job is a very important thing that seems to be lost these days as was displayed by everyone I...
