This evening was my first time eating at Senor Tequila after hearing many good things. The place was very clean and decorated a little nicer than your average Mexican restaurant. My party of five was seated immediately and drink orders taken. Our waiter seemed slightly overwhelmed / rushed, however, we were his only table from what I could tell.
The main problem I had was the food. I ordered a salad called something like “Martha’s chopped salad”. It was supposed to include lettuce, tomatoes, corn, black beans, avocado, tortilla strips I believe, and a chili/raspberry vinaigrette (which is what sold me on the salad). Chicken could be added for an additional $3, so I requested the chicken.
What they brought out was a salad consisting only of lettuce, beans, and corn with very dry pieces of chicken..none of the other veggies that were supposed to be included and no salad dressing.
I asked the waiter for the dressing that was supposed to come with the salad. He said “we only have French, ranch, and Italian.” I was bummed, but whatever, I said I’d be fine with Italian. He left and returned a few minutes later with a dish of ranch dressing, which I am def not a fan of, and told me it was actually the only dressing they had.
I hate to be a Karen and avoid it like the plague, so I realize I could have sent it back, but I’m of the thought that I shouldn’t have to resort to that. He could have easily asked if I wanted something else, especially when he saw I didn’t touch my salad.
We were also brought refills of the wrong drink and my son requested a side that he didn’t get. On the other hand, my eldest son ordered the birria tacos and they were fire.
I’d probably try the restaurant again at some point to give it a second chance, but tonight I was...
Read moreSuper nice place! Great service. Food was good. I had the enchiladas Del Mar. (I added the sour cream before the pic) which is thinned down some. Not typical sour cream. My wife had enchiladas Señor Tequila. We enjoyed both. The chips were good, the salsa kind of bland. The smooth non chunky style. Tasted like cilantro more than anything. Could have just been a random thing. The service was great! Very attentive. Food came fast, on a hot plate. Yet the enchiladas were cool/warm. Not hot at all. But still good. Price was also good. $38 with water and one Italian sour apple martini. That was excellent. I had a sip, didn't notice the sour, but it was excellent like my wife said it was. I think you should absolutely stop in and...
Read moreThe chipotle sauce was very good on the chicken enchiladas that saved it. The chicken enchiladas were lacking in flavor, cheese and moisture if there was no sauce. I ordered the extra hot salsa that had a nice slow burn. habaneros really kicked it up past the mild salsa. The chips were okay, a little bit thicker than Chilis. The televisions were positioned well to watch sports in the bar area. The place was pretty busy. The adult beverage was delicious. The restaurant seemed clean and there was no drunk and disorderly behavior. I would come back again and try a...
