We were super excited to try out Charlie Creek for the very first time. Upon our arrival, I was really impressed with how upscale and fancy it felt. We were treated like king and queen as we were sad at our table. We ordered an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, and a few minutes later the waitress came back and said they were out of tomatoes. Then we ordered the spinach artichoke dip, which was superb. It was probably one of the best I’ve ever had besides my sister Monica’s recipe around the holidays when she makes it. We ordered our entrées. Angela ordered the catfish dinner, and I ordered the pork chop. The waitress said, I’m sorry we are also out of pork chops. I said, what do you have that is available tonight as it seemed like everything we wanted, they were out of. So I ordered shrimp scampi. Thankfully they were not out of shrimp scampi. When they brought out our dishes, I was very disappointed in the size of my portion. It was smaller than a child’s portion. Angela’s fish looked good, but she said the taste of the catfish was really dirty like it came from a river. When I tried the first bite of my scampi, it wasn’t really shrimp scampi. I’m not sure what kind of sauce they use, but it was absolutely no flavor to it except for salt. It felt like they poured the entire salt shaker into my dish. I literally could not eat it. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a meal that I could not eat. Angela could also not eat her dinner because of the horrible dirty taste it had. They took our plates away and they didn’t charge us for those meals, but we did get charged for the spinach artichoke dip which is totally fine and we left the waitress a fair tip. I doubt we ever ever go back to this place. Very disappointing.

We come here every year in conjunction with my husband's performance with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic's Holiday Pops concert at the Honeywell Center which usually coincides with our wedding anniversary. We always get one of their suites so we can have a delicious and romantic dinner from room service. It's an historic hotel that has been beautifully renovated. The service is usually great, but they sure dropped the ball this time. They lost our reservation and it took several days of emails back and forth for them to find it. That's when the excuses and runaround ended. In the mean time we had to take one of their lesser rooms, both of which were perfectly all right, but ones we would never choose. Relatively small, no refrigerator, no dining table, no fake fireplace, no Christmas tree...I know, real first world complaints 😟 insult to injury we were given a $15 credit towards our next visit. Of course we'll go back but that's a pittance for a hotel that's considered $$$. Definitely B flat in musician parlance 😜

The Charley Creek Inn is cute and, if you are doing something in downtown Wabash, very conveniently located. However, I had two issues that are significant enough to make me recommend against staying here: 1) the bed was really, really, uncomfortably soft. So soft that I had trouble sleeping on it at all, and my back is still hurting. 2) I had "service please" hanging on my door for over 13 hours, beginning just after noon, but my room was never serviced during my stay. Given the Charley Creek costs almost double the Holiday Inn Express, getting great service and a nice refreshed room was my silver lining for spending so much more. So not getting that was a big disappointment. I mentioned the lack of service at check out and the desk staff apologized, but they did not offer any attempt to remedy or compensate. Save your money and stay somewhere cheaper.

Not worth the price & hassle. The room was clean that’s the only positive I can share. The room come with a vouchure for either a free scope of icecream or wine tasting. Since I’m pregnant, I opted for the freezer burn solid watered down milk they called “ice cream.” After one bite, the container was placed in the room freezer. My husband who love food couldn’t even stomach it. We opted to purchase a 2 can dine for $50 at the Twenty restaurant. What a major let down!!! Cute decor building horrible service and food options. If you like wilted soggy lettuce then try the salad you may like it. Don’t bother asking waitress Tia any questions as you will be told “just google it” in response to questions about the menu. My husband ordered shrimp scampi, more like piss scampi. The shrimp was over cooked and chewy. I order the breaded chicken with the sauce on the side and Mac n cheese. The chicken arrives coated in sauce. The waitress deliver my plate acknowledging the sauce was suppose to be on the side yet told me to try it you might like it. She proceeded to stand and stare at me to try it. I took one small bite and almost puked. She said oh well I was pregnant I puked all the time. I then scraped the gravy puke off and tried to eat the soggy chicken. I then tried the cold as a brick Mac n cheese. We had to flag down a different waitress and share our disappointment. That waitress was lovely and could tell the food was cold and the chicken was how I requested. I was quickly brought a new plate that was in sync with what I ordered. The food wasn’t edible. My husband took a few bites and we stuff the rest in a to go container and it also was left in the room fridge. Our billed totaled $47. The waitress never told us that we handing gone over the $50 coupon or asked if we wanted to order something else. A manger never greeted or checked in with our table. It was one disappointed after another. Everything is pretty much closed Sunday in the itty bitty town.||If you’re looking for a true luxury couple get away check out Harmony Inn or West Baldwin in southern Indiana or the many places in Hamilton County. This place it a...

Every Thanksgiving our family gets together to have a meal as a family. I was in the Marine Corps Infantry and this was my first Thanksgiving home in 5 years. My father flew from Poland to attend for 4 days. My cousin drove from college in Indianapolis, her parents drove from Fort Wayne. My sister and her husband drove from Rochester, and I drove 10 hours from Northern Michigan University. My Grandfather who has been in and out of the hospital, usually prepares the meal for our family. In the interest of keeping him rested, he made reservations for our 12 person party. Now to my issue. Was the food good? Yes, the food was good. However, it was not well stocked. Frequently they ran out of key Thanksgiving staples. Then, I hear after the bill has come, there were some errors. As my grandfather is trying to sort the errors out, he was treated very rude by the staff. He asked to speak with a manager about the price we were charged verses the price advertised when our party made the reservations. The manager would not change the price back to what was advertised. That is bad management. Period. Any manager who has been in the business for any length knows that. So I leave a simple review "It was good food, but terrible staff. Terrible management." Now two weeks later, the food manager has looked me up on facebook, and criticizes my review, as well as my ability to reason based on my prior service in the United States Marine Corps. You can read his personal message, from his personal account on facebook below. He must not know the overwhelming ability of Marines to defend their honor, but when I contact the BBB, Wabash Chamber of Commerce, Wabash Veteran Services Office, The Grow Wabash County Commission, as well as the Township Trustees he will. Mr. Yaggi's personal actions are the definition of bad judgment and management....

$180 + for one night and no hot water. I have waited 3 days for management to respond to both our survey and my email. My husband & I were in town for a concert on Sept 11. We were initially very impressed with the hotel & the staff. There was a beautiful jet tub that I was so excited to use after the concert. When we checked in, I noticed that there was little to no hot water when washing my hands. I dismissed it as I thought many people were checking in at that time. When we got back to our room at 11pm, I wanted to take a bath NO HOT WATER. We let it run for several minutes as I was determined to enjoy the tub. It was like sitting in rain water. We had to leave early the next day, and my husband went to take a shower- same thing. no hot water. We filled out the survey and mentioned this, and I also told the woman at the desk how unhappy we were. She was very dismissive and put all the blame on us. "Why didn't you call down?" Well, because it was 11:30pm by then and we just wanted to go to sleep. "You were on the 4th floor. All rooms on that floor share a hot water source. You shared with room 416. Maybe they used all the water" REALLY?! So if one room wants to take a shower, the other room is just out of luck?! "This is a green hotel" Excuse, Excuse, Excuse. We paid $180 for what was about a 17 hour stay. Unable to take a shower. There was no offer of any compensation whatsoever. We drive 4 hours from Ohio to Wabash at least twice a year to attend shows at the Honeywell. This was our first, and probably last time at Charley Creek. They obviously care more about appearances than they do taking care of customers. I have worked for a major insurance carrier for 20+ years and I know what good customer service is all about. Charley...
