We stayed for 1 night at the start of a 3 week road trip across the USA for my husbands 50th Birthday.|The inn was chosen as I was looking for somewhere near Astoria to go and do what every child of the 80's has to do in this area, go and see the Goonies house and filming locations. As it was a 3 week trip I had to budget so searched for somewhere in or near Astoria that looked safe, in a nice area, welcoming, reasonably priced and I definitely got what I wanted here.|We landed at SeaTac and drove approx 3 hours to South Jetty Inn. As we pulled up Luna was there both inspecting and welcoming us. Absolutely gorgeous dog. We checked in and had a nice chat with the owners, met the cat too then dropped the bags off in the room and went to explore, a short stunning drive into Astoria (seeing the Goonies house beat all my expectations and I don't think I stopped smiling).|We had THE BEST night's sleep, the bed was so comfortable (and throughout the remainder of the trip got progressively worse so we are particularly grateful for this bed). What a great start to our trip.|Everything was so cute, the Inn from the outside, the area, the room, the decor, the dogs, I really wish we could have stayed longer.|Everything is an older style but we appreciated that. The bathroom was tiny but completely functional, to me the bed was Everything!|The room was very clean and well stocked with towels and soaps etc|We had a coffee from the van in the morning to see us on our way.|Very fond memories made for us at South Jetty Inn. I really hope.we can...
Read moreWe stayed at the South Jetty Inn for two nights in July 2022. Charlie and Andrea are the owners, and nice as can be. Very helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. The inn is not a cookie-cutter kind of place. If you want Motel 6, this isn't for you. Each room is unique -- painted and decorated for maximum charm. The whole place has a rustic marine feel, if that makes sense. Our bed (a king) was wonderfully comfortable, and to my great delight (as I'm sound sensitive) the refrigerator was amazingly quiet. The mic and Keurig coffee maker were just right for us. There was also a nice, large table and chairs. Every thing was clean and fresh. I loved it that the fluffy towels were all different colors. The location was convenient to Fort Stevens and the westernmost beaches, which was what we wanted, and getting into Astoria proper was very easy. Parking is free and safe. || I didn't give the Inn 5 stars only because I didn't want to be misleading. Charlie and Andrea have worked wonders on a building that they have had to refurbish. They've done beautifully with the rooms. At this moment, the outside is a work in progress and the charm of this solid, attractive, but previously neglected building is emerging more and more every day. It felt "real" and homey. We look forward to...
Read moreLocated just outside Ft. Stevens and across the bay from Astoria, this is the perfect place to stay for a weekend getaway on the coast. It is well worth the cost, dog-friendly (say hi to Luna, the resident golden retriever), the owners are awesome, and the rooms are SO CLEAN and have loving touches that make you feel at home (ex: bottle of bubble bath, jigsaw puzzles). We were allowed to set up canopies by the fire pit to stay dry while having socially distanced get togethers with our friends who were also staying at the inn. I will say that if you are staying in a downstairs room you can definitely hear people walking around above you, and the floors are a little cold (tip: bring slippers, or buy a cheap pair at the nearby Big 5), but this place more than exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend and will...
