Number 1 when we arrived to the hotel there was no sign telling us the name of the hotel so we passed by it twice and in addition there was caution tape around most of the parking lot including the entrance way to the front door. We had to park away from the entrance then walk to the front door from the parking lot. When we went to check in hopefully early a Lady named Kelly who looked like she might have been a resident or possibly homeless person the way she was dressed and looked told us we couldn't check in until 3pm bc she didn't have any clean rooms eventhough check out was 11am and it was nearly 1pm when we spoke to her. She also said that she had to wait for her housekeeper to come in to clean the rooms. When we came back at 3pm nobody was at the desk so we had to reach up and push a ring camera button high above the desk before someone finally came to the desk which was Kelly followed by a housekeeper. After we told her we had to add a person to our reservation she informed us we had to pay an additional ten dollars but in cash bc our reservation was through a 3rd party site and she couldn't give us a receipt either for the stay bc she said we had to get it from wherever we made our reservation through. When we went to check our room it was 2 full size beds not queen which we're used to having when there are 2 beds on the reservation and though the room looked clean, the pillow cases had brown stains on them which we requested be changed out, also the tv wouldn't work at first which we thought was because of the batteries until Kelly informed me that we have to turn it on and the volume up and down by hand from the side of the tv then use the remote only for the channels. In addition there weren't enough washcloths and towels for the amount of people in the room so we had to buy our own from the dollar general down the street from the hotel. When we requested extra ones at 8am the nexr morning we were told we had to wait until the office opened at 9am eventhough we were trying to get cleaned up to go to breakfast by 9am and visit a family friend's church by 11am and when we asked them were we supposed to not take a shower before we left the hotel then they said they'd see what they could do. They finally brought 2 towels and 2 wash cloths at 9am. When we were completely ready to check out by 10:45 there was nobody at the desk so we had to wait a while for someone to come take our keys and then we were told that we could have just left the keys in the desk and someone would have gotten them later. We told them we didn't feel comfortable doing that so we wouldn't have any issues getting our deposit back and so we wouldn't be charged any late fees or anything. Also there was supposed to be breakfast at the hotel which was nowhere to be found when we came to the front desk area between 8:30-10:30. Btw the housekeeper who came to change the pillow cases on the beds said she only worked there sometimes and that the guy who was her baby daddy normally cleaned the rooms but she usually has to come behind him to make sure it's done right and when we asked her was the guy we saw earlier was him she said no that was her brother and he was the maintenance man and they both also worked across the street at the quality inn which looked horrible in the check in area where we were about to stay at first. We were able to get a good night's rest despite the whole ordeal which is all I can say good about the hotel. We will never stay there again nor in Warsaw if this is the kind of look and...
Read moreMy best friend and I stayed here Friday 3 Dec after using Hotwire to reserve the room. You cannot see what specific hotel you're booking with them until you've finished the transaction, only a general rating. We've never felt cheated with the results so we took the room confidently given the visible ranking. When received the name and looked at the reviews we were horrified and dreaded the stay for the entire 4 hour drive. ||||When we arrived we realized we had stayed at this hotel about two years ago and we were greatly relieved. Which only got better when we opened the door to a slightly dated but absolutely clean bug-free room. Other people from an organization we belong to stay here when there are meetings held in Kenansville or other locations in the region. It has been clean, convenient, well-priced for what it is, and the staff has always been pleasant, accommodating, and welcoming. It is showing some age. The paint crew could have paid better attention to drips and edges. A more expensive hotel would have replaced sections of carpet or thrown away a chair, or pulled baseboard off but then they charge accordingly. The things that weren't perfect are all cosmetic. ||||The things that matter ... cleanliness of the room (ok, the bend in the bathroom sink pipe is dusty), cleanliness and comfort level of the bed and pillows, pleasantness of the staff, freshness and food safety/handling of breakfast. These things were all fine. We drove 4 hours and laid our heads on clean pillows, watched a little TV, used the hotel wi-fi a bit, slept well, got up, had coffee hot tea, toast, bagel and yogurt for breakfast, and went on to our meetings for $60.||||We saw no bugs or other vermin nor any sign of them anywhere. There is no elevator but the steps are wide and well lit.The parking lot could really use patching or repaving but again, for $60 we...
Read moreI’ve stayed here many nights, at first the prices were great starting as low as $70 but depending on whom was at the desk the next morning/day & if they liked you or not, they would go up to $82 even WITH receipt. So different clerks, different prices, depending on persons. The morning clerk is the one who gives you prices based on if “she likes you” or not so I guess if you’re not local then you shouldn’t have an issue. The prices on the website don’t even apply when she’s working.
Next complaint I have is on their cleaning. I used to work in housekeeping so I know how it is to clean up after constant slobs, regardless, it was my job and I took pride in it. Well here, it depends on their mood I’m assuming... I had stayed in the same room I had booked the previous night and the bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, just fresh towels and even they had hair intertwined in them. How gross is that? The lamp shades need to be replaced or wiped/dusted. The headboards need to be dusted and wiped as well as behind the actual mattress. Basically the whole room could use a good dusting and vacuuming then a thorough disinfectant. I have been taken the time out of my visits to clean the room so I wouldn’t have an allergy attack. The microwaves could use wiping out as well as the fridges. Maybe they just need slight updating.
As I mentioned, we all have jobs we don’t like but come on now, if you wouldn’t leave your home like this why do it at work?
Now I have never noticed actual dirty sheets or pillow cases, they’ve always smelled fresh. And the television has always worked accordingly.
I do plan to stay here again but at the request of a specific clerk. One informed me to come later in the day, but that doesn’t make sense either. So just forwarding. Thanks...
