My daughter happened upon Boone Monument Village by chance for her wedding, but as it turned out it was a Godsend! The venue itself is exquisitely beautiful and is a photographer's playground for unique, artistic wedding photos. The venue has everything and more from an elegant dining room to a relaxed, picturesque outside area adorned with roses, flowers, a water fountain and cozy fire pit. All guests found their comfortable niche. It's almost has a bistro feel, like a little piece of Italy landed in Marthasville…very unique, very pristine, very inviting, with impeccable attention to detail. As the mother of the bride, planning the wedding can be stressful but Bernardo and Dede made the process seamless, were constantly positive and seemed as excited about the wedding as we were! They guided us through the process when needed and catered to our every need throughout the day making sure everything was in its place at just the right time. They are incredibly special people who delight in the sacrament of marriage and go over and above to make the day the most memorable of a lifetime for the bride and groom. They purposefully limit the number of weddings they do at the venue so they can give exceptional service. After it all they felt like family. I can't say enough good things about them and the venue and am only sad that it's over. I’d like to keep this gem a secret so it’s available for my son’s wedding but feel compelled to do this review because it’s the least we can do for all they did for us…thank you...
Read moreWe loved our time at Boone Monument Village. We stayed in the Mellein Log Cabin for two nights. Even though the temperatures were in the low 30s/upper 20s overnight, the cabin stayed very warm. The furnace had no problems keeping up with the cold and the cabin was almost draft free. Of note about the cabin we choose, while appearance is very period authentic, the luxuries of microwave, stovetop and mini fridge are carefully hidden away but easily accessible. Bathroom had full amenities, including a tub. Wifi is available as well and worked well across the property. We took full advantage of the firewood and outdoor firepit and enjoyed our wine and cigars in the open air. The buildings of BMV are very interesting and are original to the property or period structures that have been moved and carefully restored. All are fascinating throwbacks to an earlier time. The property itself is beautifully maintained with a lake and pastoral setting. Very relaxing atmosphere of which we were able to enjoy all to ourselves. The staff are gracious and accommodating, greeting us upon arrival and providing a thorough description of the history and functional amenities of everything. The Daniel Boone monument and gravesite are on the corner of the property, a short walk from the main buildings. Proximity to several wineries close by, seals this location as a go to place in the wine country around Augusta. We highly recommend the property and the cabin...
Read moreWe were riding the Katy Trail and I had booked unique and interesting stays througout the trail. I thought the covered wagon would be such a neat place to stay one night. Unfortunately we happened to be riding during one of the hottest days. The hosts contacted me and said while they tried to cool the wagon down it was just too hot. They upgraded my stay to the log cabin. While the wagon would have been a great experience I was very grateful for the air conditioned cabin. In addition, the cabin was anything but a "cabin". It may have looked like a cabin but it had every possible amenity you could want. It was beautiful, the bed was extremely comfortable, had a bathroom and kitchen. The inside was spotless. There was a lovely firepit (too hot for the night we were there) and the grounds were so interesting. The hosts could not have been nicer! There is a winery right next door to the property (1/2 mile walk door to door) with delicious food and live music. If you want a fascinating and fun place to...
