Waterford Motel — Hotel in Waterford Township

I will say most people would probably give this small private owned motel 2 or 3 stars. 3 would not be unfair really. But I am going with 4, because I like to keep everything in context...and this is why:

-This is a MOTEL, not a hotel. A lower cost alternative to extended stay places, especially for one person and works in area, weekly stays.

-Rooms are in process of being remodeled, just a slow process by owners, they are doing the work themselves. But if availability of rooms is limited you may get an older room - this motel opened in early '60's.

-No kitchenettes, just microwaves and fridges.

So keep in mind if stay for a night or a week, this is just a basic place to put a roof over your head.

Yes, sometimes there is noise or people hanging out, but after 10'ish or so, it does become quiet as rules you sign at check in indicate. The owners (from what I understand took over within past couple of years) are making strides to clean up the property. Among ways, limiting how many people in a room, strictly an adult property, no one under 21 renting a room or visiting.

I needed a temporary place while waiting on availability of an apartment, so I stayed for a month and can tell you, never had one issue.

ONLY complaint or what I could see irking people: poor TV services. EXTREME limited cable and over half the very few channels are not clear. But they do have reliable open WiFi and I usually stream on my tablet anyways (or Chromecast), so it was not a big deal to me, but I could see that being a big negative to others.

Side note, owners are really working on the place - just in short time there, had new lightning installed at every door and new air purifiers...

Decent place. It has its potential for sure. Everything works fine in the room. The air , the heat, hot water very good. Not enough lighting in the room, the floors squeak u can hear people walking in there room, the bed squeaks. Had a little pest problem in the room don’t know where they was coming from but u get what u pay for. The problem is there’s not enough love going into these rooms at all. That’s the biggest issue. Never went to the laundry room because it seems like u go in there n u won’t come back. It just looks like a hole in the wall. No signs above it saying laundry room none of that. Just plain. But they have to do better inspections on these rooms n access the problems in the rooms. Start cleaning the walls better. I don’t wanna see hair on a wall when I visit. They have to clean the rooms better point blank period. Move the desk out n it seems like somebody poured a whole box of cereal under there. That’s lets me know when they come in the room they don’t live nothing at all. It has great potential great price for sure, but if they put the love in the room like they did into that motel when they was building it, u will see better outcomes in the rooms. Quiet place, gas stations Macdonald, Burger King are all right there n everything else is not that far. But those rooms just needs better attention. It’s like they take your money n say Thankyou n that’s it. But the maintenance service is great. If something is wrong they will take care of it they just need better attention in the rooms cleaning wise n better lightning. Hire somebody. Give people jobs there. That’s it. Just hire...

The place is a dump the door barely opens and the inside of it seems to have some kind of white paste all over the the door it doesn't seem to have ever been vacuumed so as you can imagine lots of bugs within the first hour I was so stressed about the bugs I locked myself out of the room not that the key does much good because you have to nearly break in because the door is broke nevertheless I went to the office and got a key only to be told he had to hold on to $5 until I bring the key back I was in no rush so it was about 24 hours later when I returned to the office needing the $5 back for dinner only for some old Santa Claus looking character to tell me my $5 room key deposit is non-refundable I politely told him he was wrong he proceeded to talk to me as if he doesn't need any customers here at all ever and then went so far as to tell me I didn't have any keys that worked it makes no sense to me that two grown men are that upset over $5 whatever happened to the customers always right and more importantly a deposit is refundable by nature that's what it is otherwise you're...
