I honestly do not know where to start. My wife and I recently had our wedding and partnered the management that works with the Hilton and the Residence Inn. We first worked with Fran by blocking rooms for our guests. Fran took days to respond even after multiple emails and voicemails. We randomly stopped hearing from Fran and started to work with Destinee. Same story, it took multiple voicemails and emails just to get in contact with them.
We then signed a contract for blocking 10 rooms for our guests. The contract states that after 8 rooms we would have a complementary room for my wife and I. This was a mess because everytime our guest would try to reserve a room under our name, it would never go under the block. We tried sorting this out with Destinee and she ensured us that it was a glitch. By some miracle we were able to get 8 guests before the deadline. Shortly after, we received an email stating that we now need 10 rooms instead of 8 to guarantee our complementary room. We thought this was sketchy since we already agreed on the 8 guest but we were able to find two more people. Even after meeting the guest requirement, we still had trouble getting our room. We had to argue and convince the front desk on our wedding night to give us our complementary room on the contract. The front desk was very helpful, but she showed us that magically a lot of the blocked/reserved rooms were not in the system for our guest. This is extremely unprofessional and sketchy.
Finally I booked a makeup room for my wife to get ready with her bridesmaids. This was done in the Hilton. First, we were given a contract for the room and makeup. Thank God I caught the detail before signing, they wanted to charge us a 50 person breakfast for 2 thousand dollars when it was only for 15 people. Second downfall was the agreed time for the room. We signed for 7:30am to 2pm. They kicked out my wife and her bridesmaids at 12:30 claiming the contract said 6am to 12. When she requested to see the contract we signed, they ignored the request and my wife had to finish getting ready in the lobby bathroom for her wedding. This is absolutely disgusting.
Overall, if you are booking this hotel (Hilton or Residence Inn) for an event or any other special occasion, don't even bother. They will try to scam you in little ways and they are extremely unprofessional when it comes to customer service. I am extremely disappointed and we hope our review saves you or someone the pain we...
Read moreWe had our wedding block there this past week. I have to say it has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a hotel. So unaccommodating and lied about everything they offered. We Had 25 plus rooms and they still acted as they were doing us the favor for staying there. First off it started by them telling me that they gave my room away. then they were sold out and said we were booked for two days which we weren’t. But I was at the hotel the day before to drop gift bags off and no one said a thing about that.also ( Donald the first desk person) tried changing me for my room till I told him my room was comped with the room block. He said oh good thing you remembered that! Like what ? Second when we put in our room block for the wedding with (manager Fran) we asked about a shuttle service to the venue from the hotel for myself the groom and groomsmen, it was no problem if they had a driver available, day of the front desk guy ( Donald) told me it would a $200 dollar fee to take us 3 miles one way to the venue. We ended up ubering for 17 dollars a Uber. The next thing to go wrong with this hotel was after party we were told they would be a bartender till 2am, We confirm the week prior and a guy at the front desk who was very condescending to my now wife when she said she read a review that said the bartender wasn’t there for another wedding party. He stated (there’s always a Bartender there!). Well that was a complete lie cause bar was closed when we return from the wedding. And the final straw was they gave my sister the wrong room twice, they gave her my room and my fathers room. Then when we told them about it, he said ooo we are sold out tonight and only have one room left. So after arguing with him he decides to put my sister in the last room available. It was a overall the worst experience and I really expected better from a Hilton establishment. To anyone planning a room block and the Hilton garden in Wayne please be aware customer service is not there top priority here. And they legit really almost...
Read moreStayed for two nights as part of a wedding block. Disappointed that the experience and state of the rooms wasn’t a proper reflection of the price. This also is a party hotel- very noisy in the rooms and based on how unhelpful staff was, sounded like the expectation. The first night we were there we had to call the front desk twice after midnight for the noise- music, screaming, doors slamming. It finally stopped at 4am.
I asked to be moved the next day and was questioned why I need to be moved since I was part of a wedding block and expected to be partying as well. It was very strange- I understand there’s a bar and lobby where people can keep a party going but I’ve never been to a hotel where it was okay to party in the rooms/ hallways. If you’re looking for a good night sleep find another hotel.
Outside of the party atmosphere, the rooms were old. For perspective- TV remote was from 1999 and a brick, holes in the walls, peeling wallpaper, there weren’t enough pillows on the bed, the blanket and sheets were way too small for the beds and didn’t cover well (a bit icky), and the rooms and hallways smelt like feet or a dirty mop.
For all the cons I do have to say that the room itself (outside of the smell) was pretty clean despite being old and the staff was mostly friendly. Despite some resistance when I asked to change my room do to noise they were helpful.
Pros: clean rooms (despite being aged) check out is 12pm friendly staff nicely scented toiletries and soaps
Cons weird location in an industrial park area where there’s a lot of dead ends the hotel is old, rooms are old and dated. Most of the hotel smelt like feet or a dirty mop only 3 (very flat) pillows for a queen bed sheets didn’t cover the...
