I honestly do not know where to start. My wife and I recently had our wedding and partnered the management that works with the Hilton and the Residence Inn. We first worked with Fran by blocking rooms for our guests. Fran took days to respond even after multiple emails and voicemails. We randomly stopped hearing from Fran and started to work with Destinee. Same story, it took multiple voicemails and emails just to get in contact with them.
We then signed a contract for blocking 10 rooms for our guests. The contract states that after 8 rooms we would have a complementary room for my wife and I. This was a mess because everytime our guest would try to reserve a room under our name, it would never go under the block. We tried sorting this out with Destinee and she ensured us that it was a glitch. By some miracle we were able to get 8 guests before the deadline. Shortly after, we received an email stating that we now need 10 rooms instead of 8 to guarantee our complementary room. We thought this was sketchy since we already agreed on the 8 guest but we were able to find two more people. Even after meeting the guest requirement, we still had trouble getting our room. We had to argue and convince the front desk on our wedding night to give us our complementary room on the contract. The front desk was very helpful, but she showed us that magically a lot of the blocked/reserved rooms were not in the system for our guest. This is extremely unprofessional and sketchy.
Finally I booked a makeup room for my wife to get ready with her bridesmaids. This was done in the Hilton. First, we were given a contract for the room and makeup. Thank God I caught the detail before signing, they wanted to charge us a 50 person breakfast for 2 thousand dollars when it was only for 15 people. Second downfall was the agreed time for the room. We signed for 7:30am to 2pm. They kicked out my wife and her bridesmaids at 12:30 claiming the contract said 6am to 12. When she requested to see the contract we signed, they ignored the request and my wife had to finish getting ready in the lobby bathroom for her wedding. This is absolutely disgusting.
Overall, if you are booking this hotel (Hilton or Residence Inn) for an event or any other special occasion, don't even bother. They will try to scam you in little ways and they are extremely unprofessional when it comes to customer service. Read more12/17 stay. I typically love marriot and have had many great stays over the years. We stayed at the Wayne, NJ location. We stayed in a beautiful two bedroom. We were in town for a family funeral and we got in really late and had to get up in the morning. We got up had breakfast and I was packing the kids stuff up with the suitcase on the bed. When I picked the clothes up off the bed to roaches right across the bed, I took a picture of it and I went down to the front desk because at first I thought they were bedbugs. When I showed the picture to the man at the front desk, he looked at me and said oh that’s just a cockroach. When I asked the manager, she was right behind me, and when I told her there was cockroaches in my room, she rolled her eyes at me which was completely inappropriate Said I was going to be late for the funeral and I had to leave, but I would be returning for a resolution. In the meantime I said I feel like I have cockroach eggs in my belongings and possibly insects in my belongings. She offered no resolution and just stared at me . We went to the funeral and I did not return because my family was grieving the loss of their mother. When I called this morning, I was dismissed on the phone when I called the customer service line the woman I spoke to pretty much implied that I was lying. She said that they had an exterminator come in and there was no evidence of cockroaches that can possibly be true as I have pictures of cockroaches on their bed the bed I slept on all night long in a room with all of my personal belongings from everything I read, cockroaches lay eggs and you bring them home with you and then they hatch in your home so I probably have cockroach eggs in my car, my shoes, my clothes and my suitcase , I emailed them after I was dismissed by the woman on the phone and the response I received was that they have five days to answer my complaint. I’m recommending to you to choose another hotel. Not only was I subjected to these terrible insects and possibly have them in my home I was treated poorly , they could have offered to bag my belongings and keep them until I could return from the funeral. They could’ve at least apologized at the Front Desk and they could’ve at least apologized on the phone. Much to my surprise I was treated as if I lied. Read moreThe hotel and amentites at this establishment is very nice. However, I gave a bad review due to being racially profiled by Phillip ( front desk suprrvisor) on Feb 12, 2022. We asked Phillip for direction for pool where he stated the pool was filled to capicity, we should make a reservation for another day. Although we had a 5:30pm for this date.Next, he followed us to the pool area and and stated we have too many people from our group in the pool. He informed us that each 2 bedroom suite can have 6 guest in the pool. Our group consists of 6 kids 1 adult to supervise while 4 adults sat near the pool (fully dressed). Phillip counted all the black people and the pool and stated we have too many people in the pool. We explained to Phillip we were not with the other group of black people ( group of 4). The. He left. Phillip returned 15 minutes later stateing our children are laughing and talking too loud, they must keep their voices down Or less we will be asked to leave the pool area. He left again. 10 minutes later Phillip returned. This time he began yelling at our children and threated to put them out the pool if they didnt use their inside voices instead of laughing and playing in the pool. In my child's defense my husband and I asked Phillp to talk with the adults instead of frightening our children. Plus it's the respectful thing to do. Phillip stated " no I will tell the children. Since they are unsupervised." he was so out of control he proceeded to yell at our children ( ages 5,7,8) again. I have a picture of our group of kids in the pool and a video od Phillip yelling and threating our childre at the top of his longes. This made my family and I very uncomfortable and I was afraid of what Phillip might say or do to our children next. We didn't want the situation to escalate so we left before our reservation time ended. We feared Phillip continueing to harrass us and wasnt to remove our children from the hostility.
