First impression of Lake Junaluska was beautiful, relaxing and inviting. However, upon checking into the Lambuth Inn, the front desk clerk inquired “whatcha want?” without looking up from the computer she was on. Stating we were checking in, she replied “ I need your ID & credit card”, not very welcoming. The Inn was virtually empty and very quiet at 4 p.m. A quick glance around evidenced nice furniture appointments, but a bit sloppy as though no one was paying attention to detail, i.e., sofa pillows askew, table top adornments haphazardly placed, etc. The small gift shop was well organized and packed with interesting items. Our room, 328, was clean but sparse. No interior adornment, the bathroom amenities were non-descript in quality and quantity, the bed, XXtra firm, was covered in two white sheets with a minimal down comforter between them. The third floor balcony held four white rockers and was in serious need of cleaning/power washing, i.e., removal of all manner of insets, webs and dirt. The gardens surrounding the Inn appeared to have just been planted as the tags from the local garden center were strewn throughout the beds and still attached to several of the larger plantings. I would’ve given the venue four stars, because the general area was beautiful this time of year, but I knocked off a star for sloppiness / dirtiness and lack of welcoming by the front desk staff. .... Added next day.. Thank you Lambuth Inn for your response & phone...
Read moreDO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! I have never left a review bad or good for any business I have used. So to get me to leave a review it would have to be really good or really bad. In this case REALLY BAD We arrived at 3am. The man checking us in was clueless it took an hour to check in. My wife noticed there was a note on the desk that said a women came down to the desk and brought BED BUGS from her room. I was scared at this point to check in but we had just drove 6 hours in the car and it was Valentine’s Day and our anniversary so we proceeded to the room. We asked for a nice room we were told we had a lake view. Which I guess we did if you stuck you head out the window and could look around the building but mostly they stuck us in a back corner. We left the room in good order we had drank a 6 pack of beer and we left the empty bottles in the trash can. We knew it was a Christian hotel but there was nothing that said you couldn’t drink a beer. We left a $10 tip for the maid and left. We were told the room was $149 per night. When I received my credit card statement I had three separate charges on my card one for $149 one for $464.19 and another for $292.37. There explication was there were beer bottles in the room. Thank God for American Express I won’t be paying this bill. And the manager I spoke to about this was nasty. DO NOT STAY AT...
Read moreI gave the hotel a 3 out of 5 because of how they responded to the issues when we checked into the Lambeth Inn. We checked in, very friendly staff. Went up to our room started my usual cleaning to check and make sure the room was okay and to disinfect things. Made my way to the bathroom and the toilet was covered in urine, hair, feces splatter in the toilet, and a red ring inside that indicated it was not cleaned. I called the front desk and asked them to send someone to clean the bathroom. They responded they would send someone right away and also check to see if they had another room but they did not. We left the room for a little while to go to the lake, came back the urine and hair was still in the back of the toilet, the inside of the bowl had been cleaned but they missed half of the problem. I took a picture and went downstairs to show the front desk staff and they responded by sending me to the newer hotel on the property called The Terrace. We checked into the terrace with no issues and the room was clean. Breakfast was included with the terrace and it was nothing spectacular. I would stay at either hotel again due to the way that the hotel staff responded to the issue. Beds were comfortable for the most part and no other...
