I was unsure what to expect with a last-minute booking. But I found myself solo for the Fourth of July weekend and the best thing I could think of to do is to go to the beach. Everything‘s better at the beach and this is no exception. I’ve not been to this beach or location before but I am so happy I did. I picked a solo room which included a bathroom, a living, sleeping area lots and lots of drawer space, hanging space and a giant built in place for suitcases and sandy things. This room came with front porch to watch the sunrise and back porch to watch the sunset. Both of which were private for me although they do share the space with one other unit.|The bed was super comfy. The water pressure in the shower was amazing and nothing was missing. To get to the beach. You literally walk across the street and then down a ramp that was built for either wheelchair or buggies, and I even saw some bikes going down the ramp. there is also a set of stairs.|The beach is flat and long. It’s almost in a cove, so the waves were not overwhelming, and people were floating, paddle boarding and snorkeling for shells. There was a child on the beach that caught a baby lobster. They put the lobster back in the water, of course nature is all around you.|Quiet time starts at 10 here and although there are lots of buildings, it is a very small community. And almost shuts down at 10 o’clock in walking distance. There is a lobster pound coffee ice cream that’s even an arcade. You can walk to a café for breakfast or dinner and never have to drive anywhere. Obviously you can get to lots of great things to do with short drives, but if looking for an escape from all that, this is perfect.|When I arrived, I was met by Dustin. He is a third generation owner and he brought me to my rental. Explained everything and told me if I needed anything at all just let him know. He was moving around the property constantly helping people sharing information and recommendations for places to go, etc. . He really loves this place and you can tell he takes care of it so well. It is not granite counter tops kind of place, not bougie. It’s comfortable and is built with quality and durability everything was perfect. I can see my multi-family coming here to enjoy time together but in separate places. I will be back, I’m hoping for a girlfriend weekend soon.|You can book AirB&B, but the price is 30% less...
Read moreFirst time my husband and I stayed at Moody’s motel and cottages. We loved it. Dustin was great, we both really enjoyed our conversations with him. My mother, brother and SIL joined us for 2 nights. The marsh view is amazing, every morning we had breakfast with a view. The lawn chairs were used regularly by us. Plenty of space to play corn hole. We stayed in cottage 10 which we absolutely loved because of the large deck with the view of the marsh and the BEST sunset. Very clean. However, the privacy is completely dependent on the people above you as there are 2 motel rooms above you, their deck is above yours, the stairs to get to their room is from your deck. There are pros and cons about that, if it’s your family and friends it’s perfect, if it’s loud and rude people (which only occurred one night) who stay above you it’s awful. Dustin saw the rudeness of those particular people and did not book them for the upcoming year which is a big factor for why we are booking again. Other than that one night, all the guests were kind, quiet and peaceful. I woke up early to watch the sunrise on the beach. We ran the beach most days. 3 miles to and back from the Levi at the end of wells beach, 5 miles to and back footbridge and 7.4 to and back Ogunquit beach. We walked or rode our bikes to most places for dinner. Crescent beach is dependent on tide, we thought it was perfect as we spent a few hours on the beach and at high tide made our way back to the cottage for some lawn chair time! It was a great vacation from our busy lives. See you next...
Read moreStayed here for one night enroute to a destination further up the Maine coast. This comfortable old-fashioned and well-maintained property reminded me of the kind of places my parents would have booked for family road trips in the distant past. ||||WHAT WAS GOOD: Dustin greeted me upon arrival and proposed a room switch that undoubtedly enhanced the quality of my stay. I was traveling solo and it so happened that the room I’d booked was surrounded by two rooms hosting a large family group. My new room faced the ocean and was wonderfully quiet and private. It’s great to have a concerned owner on site looking out for guests’ best interests….You’ll likely come here mainly for the beach, which is just steps away. Complimentary beach chairs with each unit are a nice plus….Descriptions of the sunsets here aren’t overstated. With the ocean out front and the expansive marsh in the back, this really is a beautiful oceanside setting.||||WJAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER: My room had very basic furnishings and was more than comfortable enough for my one-night stay. Only minor knock was for the size of the TV, which was roughly equivalent to a large desktop monitor. Also, couldn’t get the Keurig machine to work, but that might have been a result of my own mechanical limitations. ||||THINGS TO KNOW: There’s a good lobster pound right next door but not much else within walking distance. You’ll need to drive for restaurants, groceries, shops, etc.||||BOTTOM LINE: Really nice family-run, unassuming place right at one of Maine’s...
