A bit unfortunate it had to be this way! A large group of travel media people have been in Montana for about a week now. Three of us, on our own dime, wanted to stay in a lodge. This was a last minute booking and considering the poor cell service we had to call in a same day booking. (If we booked online I doubt we would have had a problem as the internet and pics are better than speaking to a real human, the world we live in...) The person who took our reservation described the room we were getting as “two rooms, one with a queen bed in a room and another queen in the common area. You have a partial view of the creek” This worked for us being that we were a couple traveling with a friend (so three people). When we got there they tried to give us a room with two beds in it (no view) Nope, not what we ordered! After a bit of time the nice gentleman at the desk got us a new place but still wasn’t what we wanted. It was a room with two queens and then a pull out couch! The price is steep to make an adult man sleep on a pull out but - we were now practically forced to rent it for the night bc it was so late. So not only did we not get what we thought we were getting, we now had to pay MORE and still not get what we ordered!!
We kindly asked to get it for the same rate as the initial room they wanted to give us, the gentleman said he would but couldn’t bc the manager didn’t agree (seriously poor customer service on the manager account)
NOTICE- their “rooms” DONT have doors. Not sure what world they live in but I’ve never had to ask a hotel if the room has a door to separate from the common area. Absolutely ridiculous.
When we tried to settle the issue in the morning the lady at the desk was rude AF and said “if you want a discount call the other number the room was described correctly to you”...
No discount needed just want what I ordered! A room with a damn door and a bed in the other room. A BED not a pull out couch.
No value here.
In the end there’s nothing wrong with the place but if you pay for something and don’t get what you want, and on top of it pay even more and still not get what you want, you’re going to get...
Read moreI frequently use reviews to help me decide if a place is going to fit our needs and often am really satisfied with our stays. Our experience at this property did not meet our expectations. There may be nice cabins on this property but the one we were assigned to was not maintained well at all. While historic cabins are not meant to be new, we do have the expectation that they are well maintained but that wasn’t true of our cabin. A few examples of the neglect were that the screen on the front door was ripped, allowing rodents to get in. The screen door didn’t close and there wasn’t a latch to keep it closed. The kitchen floor was either not cleaned or so stained that it appears dirty all of the time. The bathroom floor by the toilet was soft, as though water had been leaking, damping the floor, causing rot. Lights that were attached to the wall were askew, a dining room chair was broken and poorly repaired so that it wasn’t sturdy enough to sit in, and chairs upstairs in the loft were left so dirty no one would want to sit on them. |The best part of our stay was the proximity to Glacier, bed bedding was clean, and the fact that our family of 5 could all be together. When I stopped by the front desk they did listen to my concern about the property. I truly believe this cabin should be taken offline and improved. |All things considered, I would never stay here again. While we had to drive a bit more to get into the park, our accommodations in Columbia Falls where we spent a few nights were exponentially better and was...
Read moreWe stayed in one of the cabins that are part of the Lodge. The cabin view was spectacular and the cabin was spacious and comfortable. |However, there was no housekeeping service automatically provided and nothing in writing informing us that housekeeping was only available on request. When the garbage was overflowing after we had been there for 2 days, we went to the office where we were informed that we needed to ask for housekeeping. We asked that the garbage be removed. It was not done that day and we had to ask again the following day after we had emptied the recyclable portion into the bin of another hotel. We also requested a clean bathmat and additional toilet paper as there was a huge leak at the base of the shower stall and we were about to turn out of toilet paper. Finally on day 3 housekeeping came and removed the garbage, replenished the toilet paper and gave us a clean bath mat |In addition, the screens do not fit the windows so that there are huge spaces when the windows are opened. We had mosquitos and yellow jackets in the cabin frequently|In addition, the toilet seat was too large for the toilet so that it was impossible to sit on the toilet facing forward as one's knees hit the wall.|And finally, the front screen door did not fit at all so that the front door could not be left open for air as even more insects came in. The front door itself is warped and swollen so that it had to be kicked to open and...
