Nice scenic view! Clear water with colorful rocks.
This hotel is connected to the Lake McDonald. All the rooms are facing lake, not the cabins. You can sit the front of the room and enjoy the view.
The hotel is located in the Apgar Village. It’s very convenient. You can walk around. There are restaurants, coffee and gift shops.
There are a couple boat rentals in the village. You have to shop around to find the best deal. There is a boat rentals next to the hotel. We rented canoe for an hour for $32.50. It’s a good deal. It’s a fun experience.
The wave is quite strong during the day. Canoeing out is easy but it’s so hard the way back because of the wave. It took us 15 mins to be out there but 45 mins to canoe back.
You can swim right in front of the hotel too. The water is really cold. Usually it’s around 50 degrees even on the sunny day because it’s water from the falls. I don’t see much people swimming. People are mostly boating and paddling.
There is no a/c inside the room but there are ceiling fans. The weather is nice. You don’t need a/c anyway.
WiFi is available but not that stable.
Tips: somehow the reception is better in the middle of the lake! When I canoed, I took the phone with me for taking photos and I found out the 5G is available out there…lol
Really enjoy staying here. Highly...
Read moreA stay at the Apgar Village Inn at Glacier National Park offers not just stunning scenery but also exceptional service. From the moment you arrive, you'll be greeted by a team that genuinely cares about your experience. Janice at the front desk is a standout. Her exceptional customer service and friendly demeanor make check-in a breeze. She's incredibly accommodating, going above and beyond to ensure guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay. You'll also appreciate Kandice, who shares Janice's commitment to guest satisfaction. Her friendliness is evident, and it's clear she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about the customers. Her dedication contributes significantly to the welcoming atmosphere of the inn. We stayed here last year and decided to book another stay this year. Upon arriving and unloading our things, I immediately noticed everything in the kitchen was new. From pots and pans to the silverware and salt and pepper (I forgot it last year and had to buy some for $8 at the store)! I appreciated the Apgar Village Inn for the upgrades, it shows they truly cares about their customers. You won’t regret...
Read moreThe view of Lake McDonald is indeed beautiful. However, the building is like an old motel with no A/c and no central heating. We stayed on a cold rainy day and plugging in 2 personal heaters provided onsite in 2 bedrooms caused circuit overload. If you ever need to use the hair dryer, don't do it, because all your lights and outlets would stop working. Also on a side note, certain rooms have kitchen units while family rooms don't. There's no general public kitchen other than the microwave and coffee/tea in the front office, which opens 8am-8pm. I think if the weather is balmy then it might be a pleasant stay. Like a flash into the past (60s and 70s past). But if you're temperature sensitive you would probably be better off somewhere with good heating and a/c so you can get a good night sleep I spoke with the staff and their response was to take away one of the heaters, so don't think this problem is going away 🤷♀️ (Attached is the picture of the heater that was supposed to heat up the...
