I booked this stay as part of a larger trip including Canada for my husband's 40th birthday. When we first arrived, we were greeted and instructed on the use of our wood burning stove and shower. We were then escorted up to the parking area and rode a golf cart to our tent with our luggage. The tent we stayed in was the deluxe which included a toilet, shower, and sink. This was definitely worth the extra money. The shower is as you would expect a pull chain, on a timer type shower. The water did get very warm, but would get cold requiring you to pull the chain again. However, it was still pleasant at the end of the day after hiking and activities. (Make sure to start your fire first so you can warm up immediately) The bed was very comfortable and the room had plenty of seating both inside and out with areas to hang your stuff. Charging stations were offered for your phones as well as battery powered lanterns that provided ample light. It did get chilly overnight (in the 50's) but there were plenty of blankets on the bed and with the wood burning stove, we stayed pretty comfortable. In fact, I got hot eventually under all the blankets. I read other reviews and people complained about traffic noise and the train. Yes, you're right off Hwy 2 and there is traffic, but not as much towards the evening and I didn't wake up at night to the sounds of traffic. There are trains that go through the area fairly regularly (including overnight) and they are required to blow their horn, but honestly I find it soothing and if you hike enough you'll be passed out anyways. That's the point, isn't it? Haha! I thought this was the best of both worlds, some camping and a real bed. There is NO electricity, but I had fairly good cell service the whole time. You cannot have any food in your tent, but definitely pack snacks and leave them in your car. For all you coffee drinkers, my husband and I packed a tiny camping can and little mount that you put a fire starting cube underneath (I'm not sure of what they're called officially) and we packed our own coffee and powdered creamer. We made our own coffee in the tent because I didn't want to walk down to the reception area at 0430 or 0500. They do have coffee that early, but I preferred making it in our tent and drinking it outside in my pjs and coat. I will definitely stay at Under Canvas again. Any bad reviews they get is because the people don't pack for the weather, understand what camping is, and have hotel...

I did not hate it, but It was not great either - like a good idea which was not well implemented. This was meant to be a luxurious "safari tent" -like experience and it was priced as such, but the accommodations were uncomfortable and making guests comfortable is what luxury stays are all about. |The property has failed to provide good quality sleep - it was very noisy at night with the train horn waking us up every few hours ( I slept with noice cancelling headphones on) and there was super loud highway as well. they placed earplugs in the room, but that was useless| Also there were very stiff, uncomfortable and cheap pillows. For the price we have payed you would expect a luxurious bedding and those pillows were unacceptable. The furniture, while very aesthetically pleasing, was not comfortable to seat on. |Other less important things- there is one hairdryer for the whole camp which we were supposed to use and then bring back to the lobby tent - is a very cheap hairdryer. This was very inconvenient |The community fireplaces - not convenient at all. We had to go up or down the road to get there and most nights the seats around them were taken. There should be opportunity to have personal small fires by the tents. It would have been so nice to relax after running/ hiking all day by the fire and watch those beautiful stars and then go to bed.| The food was not bad, but the restaurant ambiance- it felt like an afterthought. || The location was convenient for the West Glacier visit. | The interior of the tent was very pretty and the camp area was overall nice. The bathroom facilities were always clean, and even though the nights were cold, the blankets were warm and the fireplace in the room was great to have. |There were plenty of clean high quality towels. The tea and coffee in the lobby were also high quality and great to have. | I was recognized as Hyatt globalist and given a credit to use during my stay. |So, in conclusion I liked how the place looked, but it wads not comfortable. I will definitely try other locations of Under Canvas as they there is a potential and hopefully they are better. However, there is a better clamping...

Price point is ridiculous for the horrible linens, service, and atmosphere. Why 'camp' at this location? It is not conducive for sleeping outdoors. The noise from the train horn blaring multiple times day and night is jarring. It doesn't only wake you from a sound sleep, it's so loud it stops conversation. Under Canvas provides earplugs next to the bed, and to be honest when we checked in I wondered why (no mention of the train during check-in). We did not sleep at all that first night. Used the earplugs the second and third. They helped, but did not eliminate the train horn, they eliminated the ambient sounds of nature. Isn't that a benefit of camping in the great outdoors? |At over $500 a night you would expect a higher level of service. When we arrived late the first night, the screen zipper did not work. The next morning we noticed the toiletries in the shower were empty. We stopped in the 'office' and notified them of the zipper and toiletries. In reply they said they would fix the zipper, and asked if we wanted a "refresh". We said yes (reflecting on the price point we assumed there would be some sort of room maintenance during a multiple night stay). Zipper was fixed and towels were put in our room. That was the "refresh". Toiletries were never filled, bed not made or changed, and trash was not emptied. The towels provided were threadbare, non-absorbent and scratchy. The bed linens were cheap roadside motel quality. At departure, we went to the office to check out, 5 employees were standing around the front desk. We told them we were checking out and shared the toiletries were still empty so they wouldn't be missed again during the turn. No apology. No thank you for staying. On our way out we visited the coffee station. 8am and both coffee urns were empty. 5 employees standing 5 feet away, doing nothing. Our final moments Under Canvas were indicative of our entire stay. Glacier is a beautiful destination. There are many charming lodging options. Go elsewhere. Under Canvas Glacier...

This was my third Under Canvas I have stayed at. I've stayed at the Moab, Zion, and now the glacier Under Canvas. As far as views go, this was the least impressive. However, this was probably my favorite one to date and I'll explain why. First, if you get a tent, make sure it's in the back, away from the road. Your experience will be greatly improved. My tent had a bathroom, a shower (upgrade) and was somewhat off on its own with a forest view. So if you just happen to be without clothes with the door open, no worries lol. Your human neighbors won't see but the Chipmunks might. The other under canvas do not have as much privacy (if you have a Forest view at this one, away from the road). Second, I feel like there's more space between the tents at this one or at least my tent was. What makes under canvas better than hotels is that you still have many of the same amenities of a hotel but you are still somewhat in nature. The tranquility and relaxation you get from under canvas is second to none. You hear birds sing, wind through the trees, and wake up to sunlight. Lastly, all the under canvas do this, but they make a fire where you can meet others, and you have unlimited s'mores if you're shameless like myself. After a dinner, walk down to the fire and grab you one, or two, or three. My only issue with this place is that it is very very expensive! However, Yellowstone is probably the most expensive site. The downfall of this site is that it is very close to the road unlike the others. To really enjoy this place, you have to be away from the road. So pick a tent in the back. Book far in advance. Enjoy!

Our group stayed in the tent with four twin beds. This was our first "glamping" experience and we were impressed! Best part was that we didn't have to set up camp. ;) The beds are comfy with many warm blankets. The bathrooms and showers were great as well! Very clean and many of them. Best part was the customer service though, at check-in the Under Canvas Glacier employee (Shay, I think?) was very hospitable. She even recommended a great place for us to eat dinner (Glacier Grill, if you stay here you should eat there too!). The next morning we saw Shay while we were walking to the reception tent for free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate. She told us good morning and asked us if we ended up going to the Glacier Grill for dinner--very impressed by her memory! We definitely looked very different after rolling out of bed in the morning. Lol. You are not allowed to have food in the tents as not to attract bears, but you are allowed to have it in a nice picnic space near reception. They even have campfires they will set up for you with s'mores ingredients. Would have gave it 5 stars, but the other employees we encountered weren't as friendly or helpful. Still a very great place to stay and I highly recommend!
