This stay was so horrific!! The phones didn’t work for 2 weeks!! So we couldn’t even call down for help when we needed it!! There was mold under every cabinet!! In the bathroom, shower, all the windows and the heaters!! We were missing so many dishes we had to go buy some, the house cleaning took our bedding blankets and we didn’t get the right ones back we got something so thin I had to go buy two bed sets. (I was in a two bedroom suit w/kitchen). The in room phone was broken.. but the ENTIRE hotel phone was not working our ENTIRE STAY.. they said they had no idea when it would be fixed. There were huge spiders and spider nests, no hot water, and dust so thick it was hanging from the ceiling!! The closet doors where too small for the closets so they didn’t shut right.. lights were out.. the FRIDGE RATTLED SOOO LOUD LIKE 75 times every night!!! Waking everyone up, when we looked behind it there was a towel even stuffed in the bottom of it.. idk why. We continued to tell them.. but they said it would be fixed or cleaned and it wasn’t. The hot water to bathe or shower?! IF YOU TURNED IT ON AND LEFT IT ON FOR OVER 45 minutes.. it was MAYBE less than freezing at BEST!!! Mold above shower head and around the bath. The first floor smelled so strongly of pee it stuck into your mask when you left. The fax was not working because there phones to the whole hotel did not work. I had medical things going on or I would have left immediately :( Kept waiting for them to fix things but they didn’t. Was suppose to stay much longer since it was set up like a small apartment instead of hotel but I couldn’t. I’d like my money back. This place needs reported to the health department. We documented every single thing, video and pictures. So there is proof of all of this since it is SO MUCH and so bad.. I couldn’t even believe it myself. Is there a place to post these pictures!? One cabinet under the sink was so water damaged with WET black mold the floor of the cabinet was lifting even! Mold under cabinets, bath, shower, windows, so thick in the heaters blowing out air. The ac/heat to warm the room would blow cold/hot/cold not a consistent temp.. but the mold was insane the pictures are disgusting and unbelievable. Dust so thick and spider webs so much there was black strings hanging from the ceiling! (All pictures and videos of all of this) No one should pay to sleep in...
Read moreI specifically sought out a Marriott family hotel because of the consistency throughout hotels that carry the Marriott branding. TownePlace Suites Cleveland Westlake for the most part lived up to those expectations. The room was clean, semi modern, and fully stocked as I expected with the needed necessities for a 2 week trip.
There are only a few things I would change, first being breakfast. While there are many options available, it is literally the same fried egg with cracked pepper, turkey sausage patty, and waffle every single day! I've stayed at lower end Marriott's that would at least have a a couple variations of the way the eggs, and meat were prepared so during the course of 2 weeks the guests would enjoy a small variety. Even if the options repeated every 2-3 days it would be a large improvement. Additionally - the breakfast room is entirely TOO SMALL. It literally could seat 12. Often times I ended up taking my food either outside when it wasnt raining, or back to my room and it seemed like many others had this same sentiment. Trying to get breakfast when the place was crowded was interesting.. to say the least.
The last thing is I wish the front desk explained during check in that if you want to use the hot tub, you need to go to the Courtyard next door. I was really disappointed not to have a hot tub, which helps to reduce the aches and pains from being away from home, and travelling - only to finally read in the fine print on one of the papers handed to me at check in to walk across the parking lot to access the one there. I take most of the responsibility as I equally could have asked - but as a shy individual, I often find that hard to do.
Overall, the room was great, most of the staff amazing, it was clean and I felt very safe. Parking was plentiful (if only the visitors knew how to park, but thats a different issue outside of the hotels hands), and the location was...
Read moreWONDERFUL! FANTASTIC! All the comforts of home. We could not have expected more. My wife and I had a Studio Suite. When we arrived we found the suite IMMACULATE in every area. We went out for the day on Sunday and on our return found the suite was perfectly freshened up and kitchen items we used on Saturday in the dishwasher. Since we had food from dinner on Saturday we were able to put it in the fridge and have lunch on Sunday before we headed out for the day. There are plenty of restaurants very close by as well as gas stations. It was nice to have a sofa to relax and watch tv instead of occasional chairs like a conventional hotel. The fully appointed kitchen with all necessary items allowed us to carry out meals saving money on restaurants and letting us have a more comfortable relaxed quiet atmosphere like home. The complimentary breakfast was GREAT. Everything you expect was available. I had cold cereal for a change(very good granola) and my wife had oatmeal plus tasty bagels yogurt and full bodied premium coffee. We chose to eat breakfast in our room so we could watch CBS Sunday Morning like we would at home. The public breakfast area is a bit small but I made several trips back from our room and found everyone there comfortable and enjoying themselves. My wife also tried the fried egg which she said was tasty and with the turkey sausage would make a nice breakfast sandwich for those who like that. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. This is very easy to find off the freeway for a nervous driver like me. We stayed here for an event in Lakewood which was only 15 minutes east and worked out SUPER! If you have plans in downtown Cleveland that is also only a few minutes away. The price we paid was comparable to a conventional hotel but with complimentary breakfast and use of a fully appointed kitchen this was a bargain. You cannot go wrong...
