I snowboard with a crew of 4 guys, my friend Scott found out about Whitefish, and I took on arranging lodging. Research provided pretty good feedback on the Whitefish properties. Morning Eagle 401 provides three bedrooms and three baths. Arranged for a four night stay. Military got a 25% discount on lodging. That, combined with 50% discount for military makes Whitefish a real good deal for military. I had one experience with ski resort lodging at Tahoe and was not real excited. My main concern was someone ending up on the sofa bed, which would no doubt be pretty bad. I called a service representative (hats off to Ben Gould) and was provided with the option of splitting the king bed in one of the rooms into two twins. Problem solved. Based on what accessories were available in the kitchen, we intended to do a most of our meals in house. On arrival, I was blown a way at the space, the quality of the furnishings, the quality of the electronics (four televisions) and the kitchen. Full sized kitchen with every accesory needed, including an extra coffee pot. Full sized oven, full sized refrigerator/freezer with automatic ice maker and automatic dishwasher. I had rented a car on day of arrival to transport people from the airport two times and make the Costco run. Because of the quality and size of thre kitchen, we were able to do breakfast and dinner at the condo, saving time and money. The facility had a hot tub that worked. There were drinking and eating establishments within walking distance and a shuttle did run down to Whitefish. A small store providing essentials was also available. I was also pleased with the generally good prices for everything in the area. I was left with the impression that the owners of the condos are held to a high level of accountability for maintenance and condition of the properties. We will return, might try to get Morning Eagle 505, the penthouse of...
Read moreWe stayed in Morning Eagle 306 and the room was nice and (seemingly) clean although the furnishings could use an update. One important thing to know for summer trips is that only two of the three bedrooms have functioning air conditioning. The two twin bedroom just had a stand fan. However, we were there during the heat wave and it was still cool enough in the evenings to open the windows and get a cool(er) breeze in that room.||As a travel agent, I always also assess the guest service at a location to see if I would recommend it to guests. We didn’t have much interaction with the staff during our visit so I can only assess this on our post-trip interactions. Our two-year-old left a beloved stuffed animal in the room so we called the property to see if they could look for it and we would pay to ship it home. However, the property wouldn’t even look for it without a $20 payment (and then if they found it the shipping costs would be on top of that). Service-wise this is concerning because I’ve never experienced another property with this type of policy. But it’s especially concerning during COVID times that they would rather leave other guests’ property (especially property that has certainly been chewed on) in a room for another guest to interact with.||So if you’re just staying for the room and aren’t super concerned about service or cleanliness this might be your spot. But I’m not sure I can...
Read moreGreat location for ski in and ski out at Whitefish Mountain. Very convenient to several restaurants within walking distance and a shuttle runs from the ski lodge base to the Village where these condos are located. There is also a bus which picks up and drops off from the town of Whitefish on a regular schedule. The bus stop is very close to Morning Eagle. The condo was comfortably furnished although the kitchen ware was very sparse. Two old fry pans and neither was good for making eggs for breakfast. Two coffee mugs and two tiny cups. Not sufficient if you have 3 or 4 coffee drinkers. Also no spatula was included. Need some modern non stick pans and more dishes and bowls. Living room had too much furniture for its small size. The blinds had a good deal of dust and I kept sneezing when trying to adjust. Only one small table to eat meals at. The table was a very tight fit for 4 people. Bedrooms were sufficient for four people but didn't have much storage and were tight for space. The master bed mattress was worn put and very soft. The rooftop hot tub was limited to four people. Heat was not working for several days and when working was lukewarm. The small deck was very icey and treacherous. Overall, the condos were at a convenient location and had a ski locker room on the first floor. I would recommend for a couple but the two bedrooms were a tight fit for...
