I'm not the first and probably won't be the last to share the nightmares of the cleaning services. I set up a schedule for them to come in at any normal time M- F, had a do not disturb sign up on the weekends. The lady that worked weekends let herself in as I was indecent. As I was loudly exclaiming that she needed to leave she continued to advance further into the room. I was covering myself up with the bed sheets while in the bed. She then came all the way in and began to grab my pillows and yank them off and on the bed- placing her leg up on the bed. She refused to leave for several minutes while continuing to mess with the bed while I was in it. Once I convinced her to leave and told her she could come back in an hour (she told me she had to clean the room that day even though they had cleaned my room the day prior and I had a schedule worked out with the Inn for several weeks already) I called the front desk. They began to question me as if I was in the wrong- saying things like, "did you have your don't disturb sign up?" After a five minute phone call with the front desk and the front desk telling me that the cleaning lady will be spoken to- the cleaning lady helped herself back into the room, this time with her phone camera on. At this time I am yelling at the top of my lungs for her to leave, I am not longer covered by my sheets and as I'm yelling at her to leave she starts laughing at me and saying to her phone, "omg! Do you hear how he's yelling at me? Hahahaha!” She again refused to leave for a while. After she finally left, I chain locked all the doors, called the front desk again- this time they were very concerned for what had happened. The room service manager skirted my calls for a while, and when I went into her office she redirected me to another office. I filed an official EO complaint and I was told the lady who entered my room was forbidden from doing so again. I cannot believe they didn't fire her for it. Additionally, the Inn's cleaning services dumped a bunch of chemicals in my room while I was away and when I returned to the room, the fumes caused me to lose consciousness. When I came to, I called the front desk and they sent the maintenance guy with some towels that "I could wet and wipe down the walls with." The maintenance guy even took a step back at the door and didn't want to enter. This was after several hours of me airing it out. In all it took 7 hours to air out the room. They would not/could not tell me what chemicals they dumped/spilled/whatever in my room. I was physically ill for a week and continue to have wheezing issues months after. When I was moved rooms for these reasons and more, I found myself in a room infested with mites. I thought I was hallucinating but it turned out to be millions of mites crawling all over the walls, ceilings, windows, doors, furniture, and bed. There were probably a dozen spiders. I wound up naming some of them and pretending they were in some kind of spider gang war with the other spiders on the other side of the room. They gave me 2 glue traps for the mites. No one could tell me how those traps would work on the walls and ceilings and sink and bed and... The showers are ridiculous. Two doors and a toilet in 2 foot square space. Even if you're small, good luck. The shower itself sprayed everywhere and soaked the carpets no matter how hard I tried to keep it from doing so. My situation became so bad that eventually I was given a letter of non availability since they couldn't and I wouldn't move a third time. I've spent 20 years in the military and this was the absolute worst lodging I've ever had. I usually brag about on post lodging for price point and safety. I cannot do that this time. Stay away from this inn. People barging in when they are not supposed to is a security violation. The cleaning manager and certain staff need to be barred from this base. Oh I forgot, they used too much bleach or something on the towels and cause a rash all over my body that burned for 3 or 4 hours. Stay away.

While the staff was courteous, my stay was unacceptable due to serious health and safety issues. On the day I checked in, I saw clear evidence of mold, mildew, and dust buildup — including what appeared to be black mold on the ceiling and in the air vents. I have asthma and am allergic to mold, so I immediately reported it to staff. Instead of acknowledging the problem, I was told there was no mold or mildew in the room. However, I have photos proving otherwise, and I also witnessed the maintenance worker who replaced the vent wearing a protective mask. If there truly was nothing harmful present, why was a mask necessary? Staff claimed the HVAC company had cleaned the ventilation system, but all I observed was that the vent cover was switched out — the system itself was never cleaned. Within a few days, I developed severe headaches, extreme fatigue, and most concerning, difficulty breathing. This was more than an uncomfortable stay — it was a hazardous environment. Immediate action should be taken to ensure the safety of future guests.

Under no circumstances should you stay here if you have any other options. While not every room has roaches, mine does and so does my neighbor. I killed 3 in one day, and 5 in the 2 weeks leading up to that. Behind my funiture i found several dead roaches as well as a dead spider and cricket. In the vanity, there was cockroach droppings. A lot of them. When you bring this to the attention of the staff, you get sticky traps. I was told if I wanted an exterminator or a different room id have to speak to a manager on a weekday. It seems insane to me this cant be done at a lower level. This is entirely unacceptable. My stay is several months long, and the fact I'm going to be living with bugs the whole time is a serious health issue.

Worst lodging experience of my entire life. Why? CRICKETS! Save the hassle and get a place with free breakfast off base somewhere. Looking at similar reviews, this has been an issue for a year or more now so it's not going to get fixed any time soon.

Imagine you are visiting Sheppard for the first time. You're out looking for a home for your next assignment and you can't wait to see what this base is all about. You walk into the office, an amazingly friendly staff takes great care of you , and you're off to your room for the next few days.

You walk in and the first thing you see is a big fat black cricket on the floor. No worries! You pick the cricket up, toss him outside, and that's that... You walk through the accommodation to the bedroom, set your suitcase down and take a look around. On your bed, waiting to welcome you to your new room: two MORE crickets. One you catch, the other hops away, never to be see again. Irritated, but not overwhelmed, you toss the cricket out and begin settle in.

The next morning, you wake up pretty sore from the not-so-comfortable bed, but still excited for what the day will hold, what houses you'll see, and what the town has to offer. You take a shower, throw on some clothes, and put on your shoes. "Oh.. weird... did my lace end up in my shoe because I just slipped them on?" you ask yourself. You swipe your finger along the side of your shoe to remove the annoying lace. BOOM. A cricket... which you discard. Ok. This is getting a little annoying, but hey it's no big deal.

You come back from a day of house hunting with your exhausted pregnant wife, ready to watch some red boxes, eat some pizza, and relax. During the course of your two movies, 4 more crickets dance across the carpet, both of which you discard. Irritated, you call the front desk to see what can be done about this. The staff tells you, "We can put a work order in tomorrow for entomology to come by." You ask, "Is this pretty normal here or is it an isolated event?" "Sir, this is pretty abnormal, no other reports of any similar issues." You kindly ask, "Well ma'am, if that's the case, would it be possible to move to another room without the bug problem?" She tells you, "No sir, I can't do that, you'll have to talk to management tomorrow."

So... You guys are telling me that a couple finding around 10 crickets in their room, on their bed, and in their suitcases/shoes, etc. can't simply move to one of the many vacant rooms here? The staff doesn't have the power to make such a basic/simple customer satisfaction decision without asking management? What a joke! But hey, no worries. I'm sure the entomology work order will be in before close of business tomorrow, and therefore the actual bug spray should be here in this room by next week sometime long after we are back at our home station. Maybe the next tenants will only have lots of DEAD crickets to worry about. Good luck, folks!

Update: It's 3am on our second night. I just woke up to a cricket on my pillow and another on my cell phone... Absolutely the worst. Got an "I'm so sorry, sir." this time on the phone, so that's good I guess. This place is complete and...

I didn’t even stay the night. I checked in around 1530 and drove over to my room. Upon arrival I attempted to enter the bathroom area which appeared to be locked. I called up to the front desk and was informed the unit include a shared bathroom area.

I wouldn’t have an issue with this if the room wasn’t the same price as other rooms in the area and if they were up front with that information at the time of booking. As far as I can tell that information isn’t listed anywhere on their website. Although this isn’t exactly lying, it’s definitely not being transparent.

I went to the front desk to check out after securing other accommodations. I was told I would still be charged for that night and, although that makes absolutely NO sense, I replied with “perfect”. When I asked if the information about the shared bathrooms is posted anywhere or sent via email I was told they are approved accommodations for individuals E6 and below and it is stated in the AFMAN. That wasn’t exactly the answer to my question, but okay. After receiving my receipt I told the lady at the front desk to have a nice day. She didn’t respond.

The staff were friendly at checkin, but were very rude when I informed them I would be checking out. Despite me still being polite to them after being blatantly lied to.

The link that says policies and info at the top of their main page is a broken link and provides no help.

The room was outdated, but it smelled clean and was adequate.

Just a heads up—if you plan to stay here just know you will have to share a bathroom and the other person CAN lock you out of the bathroom and you will need to wait for maintenance to come by to unlock the bathroom door.

Overall my short experience there was pretty terrible. My advice to the individuals at this...
