Do not stay here if you expect to be treated with dignity or respect. The staff here hates the guests. I have never seen anything like it. ||||I stayed overnight here with a colleague. We returned to the hotel after an evening professional event, hoping to have a few quiet drinks and conversation at the bar. From the moment we sat down on the bar stools, it was clear that the bartender hated us. HATED. I ordered a cocktail. She made it and then walked away without asking my friend what he wanted. It seemed strangely intentionally rude. When she returned, he asked for a beer in a bottle and a plastic straw. ||||She rudely said, “No. It’s corporate policy,” walking off in a huff like he’d just asked her to strangle some kittens. We decided to sit outside because her hatred of us was so palpable. ||||There’s an enclosed pool area, and another enclosed patio area nearby. We sat in the patio area. (The pool has a sign that says no glass.) the bartender came out, stood in the open doorway and said you can’t have glass in this area. My friend asked if he could have a plastic cup. She said, you can’t come inside and pour your beer ins plastic cup. Now, mind you, I am drinking out of a plastic cup that she had made my cocktail in. After a minute, I went inside to the bar for a plastic cup. The bartender was nowhere to be found and the plastic cups that had been sitting within reach near the draft beer had disappeared. I waited. And waited. And waited. ||||Finally I cautiously stepped into the bar looking for the plastic cups, hoping they were just beneath eyesight or just out of reach. I am convinced she hid them. Which seems insane, because why would anyone do that?! ||||Anyway, she comes flying out of her witch’s den and aggressively tells me you can’t be behind the bar. Yeah. I realize that. But aren’t you supposed to be being the bar at least for a few minutes of every 10. I didn’t say that. I apologized and said I am just looking for plastic cups. She said we’re out though will have to ask the front desk. And she said I am tabbing you out. So basically, refusing to serve two perfectly sober people who had the audacity to exist, I guess. (The lady at the desk was kind and helped me locate a few paper coffee cups. She had the decency to look surprised and a little confused when I told her the bar was out.)||||She was the most hateful person I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. She has no business working in the service industry and her bosses, Regan Ward and Kirstin Blosser, should be horrified at her behavior. She makes them, their operation, Aloft hotels, and Marriott brand look awful. I will never darken the doors of another Aloft hotel, because of her and I will seriously rethink staying in any Marriott franchises in the future. If hating your guests for simply existing is one of their corporate values, Marriott and Aloft hotels nailed it. ||||I wouldn’t stay here if I were you. Maybe she just hated us, but that level of attempting to ruin our time is a special level of hatred that likely can’t be contained to just two...
Read morethe sliding door to the bathroom would only open about 8 inches. It was off the track. Thankfully, we were able to fix the door so that we could use the restroom. The floors were so disgusting that our feet stuck to them everytime they'd touch. We didn't dare go without shoes. The sheets were incredibly scratchy, wrinkled and sticky feeling. It seemed as though the room hadn't been touched in weeks. The first morning there, I went down to get cereal. There were no spoons. I asked the front desk lady where the utensils were. She brushed me off pointing to an area to say there were utensils there. Since there were no spoons, i again asked for a spoon. She couldn't find one. This same employee is the one we'd pass by several times in the lobby sitting on the couch, scrolling through facebook. (Maybe if she spent a little more time "working" there would be utensils, water, etc out) It took several employees approximately 5 minutes to find a spoon. One of these employees was the mgr. At this time, I told him about the other issues with the room. He told me he had put our room on the schedule to be fully cleaned. This was around 7 am. By 5 pm, no one had come to the room. I called the front desk. I was advised housekeeping was gone and mgr was gone. My only option that night was to change rooms (which was not at all convenient). I was told my room would for sure be cleaned the next day. The next day, after sleeping another night in this dirty bed and room, by noon, no one had come to clean. I went down to the desk to inquire again of room cleaning. Finally, after the third time of requesting my room be cleaned, someone came. I was told by mgr at this point, I would be comped one night's stay (it was a 4 night stay). The gym only had filtered water the first day I was there. No one ever refilled the Culligan machine. When I went to ask for a pool towel, i was given a small hand towel sized gym like towel (scratchy, tattered, thin). After checking out, we were charged the full price (not comped one night like we were told we would be) and we had an extra $25 charge the next day for which we still have no support for). We have tried calling for the past two days about the charges but can't seem to get anyone on the phone. When we did finally get through, employee said she would transfer to the mgr, but then instead just sat there chatting with a coworker for 5 minutes.... so we had to hang up and go through the call back, hold...
Read moreDo the designers ever stay in their own hotel? This is a brand new hotel by one of the biggest hotel chains in the world with decades of history, research and development baffles me how things like this can keep going on. ||First of all, there are no USB charging jacks on the nightstands! This is a new hotel, and it is a sin not to have them. ||There is no shelf in the shower to set anything. You are forced to use the toilet lid. ||The refrigerator is an afterthought randomly sitting on the floor underneath the bathroom sink ||There is a hanging light/dust collector over the vanity. I’m sure housekeeping cleans this regularly. 🤣||There is a light in the shower, but nothing over the toilet. So if you the type of person who reads, you should bring a flashlight.||The adjoining doors are next to the bed, instead of being next to the bathroom/hallway. It would’ve given a little bit more privacy to the bedroom area if they’ve been moved back a few feet. ||They could also move the thermostat to the hallway/ bathroom area instead of having next to the bed. There is a bright LED light on it, that shines in your face all night as you’re sleeping. ||They have blackout shades in the room that work perfectly, you could sleep all day and not know the sun is out. Unfortunately there are no privacy sheer curtains. You either have no knowledge of the outside world or are on full display of the construction workers next door and the people in the parking lot. ||Speaking of parking lot, the covered entrance to the hotel is in no way connected to the parking lot. You have to go to the main road, make a U turn to go to their parking. Then only to find out the side door requires a keycard to get in, that doesn’t work. |When you’re in the parking lot, in the morning, usually right around check out time, the sprinklers turn on and saturate everything around you, your vehicle and the sidewalks. ||There is a sliding door between the bathroom and the sink which is hard to open. I would imagine young children and elderly people would not be able to do that. ||Don’t get me wrong, these are all first world problems. The hotel is nice and clean, brand new, and the staff are fantastic. It’s just very frustrating trying to live here and be...
