I really wanted to like this motel. I like to support independent, local businesses, which this seemed to be. I've actually never posted a hotel review anywhere and I hated giving this one a negative review. The motel was charming (from the outside), quiet and within walking distance of the Ark Encounter which was a plus. Thats where the positive experience ends. The room rate was $10 more than a Holiday Inn Express we stayed at the night before, a much larger, newer and more luxurious room. This room was a huge disappointment. First, I reserved and paid online for two queen beds. We instead were provided a room with two standard doubles for a party of 3. They could not move us since the motel was full. We stayed because we were tired and it was too late to find other accomodations. My wife and I haven't slept together in a standard double since our first apartment. We were skinnier then. Next, the room smelled strong and very strange with faint urine undertones, as though something was sprayed to cover up a cat pee smell. Third, there was a platter-sized puddle on the bathroom floor that had crossed the threshold and wet the carpet. We mopped it up with a spare washcloth and the puddle was back within 20 minutes. The night clerk provided a pile of towels for the night to keep the puddle at bay. On close inspection, the base of the toilet was leaking (possibly where the urine smells were coming from). Then lots of other missing things that are standard in most hotels of even the most basic amenities. There were no suitcase stands, you had to access luggage from the floor; no table or desk, no chair, no clothes hanger bar, no bureau with drawers, no microwave, nothing but a TV stand, fridge, tiny end table between beds, and a crate with a coffee maker, towels and washcloths next to the sink. Bathroom was tiny with a ventilator fan so loud it sounded like a jackhammer. The final insult was a somewhat defensive young lady who checked us out and offered no apology, only a sarcastic "anything else?" when I recounted the problems. She provided only a $20 discount when I requested they adjust the bill (the night clerk suggested I ask for adjustments). Disgusted I said no more, got my receipt and left. I will say that I do NOT believe this to be their room standards. They would be out of business if it was, but this is a highly competitive business, they can't afford to make mistakes like this. If you want to try this hotel, go with a back up plan and check in early enough to make a switch if necessary. With a brand new, fabulous, nearby attraction like the Ark Encounter, I can guarantee their competition is going to get a lot stiffer. I post this review in hopes that they make positive changes and become more competitive or they...
Read moreThe service was great overall, they had cups, microwave and a small fridge (forgot the name in english) in the room, with a coffee machine, and in the reception area they distribute plastic knifes, forks etc. Honestly, the room is not that bad, but the door had some signs of being broken down before, you have to put an advice on the door that you want your bedroom cleaned, or else they aren't cleaning anything. The room came to me and my family in a good way overall, but the bathroom was REALLY SMALL and I mean it the sink was outside of the bathroom included on the room, the vent system in the bathroom is full of dust and a part of the roof has been kinda broken (I think?) And the bathtub curtains are DIRTY, not as like, if I put water on it a lot of dirt will go out of the curtain but it was full of stains, and the only actual body soap is really small, they have internet but if you leave the hotel you have to log into the internet again, and going to the hotel I found out some areas close to the hotel have marijuana smell on them, and imagine having them close with CHILDREN around you. The hotel Is also kinda hid, tthe breakfast is REALLY skipeable, they had almost nothing, not even some powdered chocolate for some chocolate milk for kids, they also got no scrambled eggs, they only had some microwaveable cooked eggs in small packages. and some of the lamps are kinda old, overall, oonly good thing about this place is the locality close to the Ark (if you're not going there, I don't recommend) and the bed. They are comfy, by the way be careful with the blankets, there are 2,one of them will make you sweat at night. Oh yeah by the way a fly got inside our room on our first day, and after a VERY tiring day I found a butterfly, ALIVE inside of the bathtub. For those that might wonder I was...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at Sunrise Inn in Williamston, KY, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I checked in, the staff’s friendliness and professionalism stood out. They made me feel welcome and ensured all my needs were met promptly.
The room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped with modern amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were fresh and of high quality, guaranteeing a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was spotless, with plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries.
One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast provided each morning. The variety and quality of the food exceeded my expectations. It included both hot and cold options, catering to different dietary preferences, and the coffee was superb.
During our four-day stay, there was an issue with the hot water. Despite this inconvenience, the hotel handled the situation exceptionally well. They promptly offered us the option to move to a different room in another building where the hot water was still working. This level of service and care ensured our stay remained comfortable and enjoyable.
The location of Sunrise Inn is another plus. It’s conveniently situated close to local attractions, making it easy to explore Williamston and the surrounding areas. Despite its central location, the hotel maintained a peaceful and quiet atmosphere, perfect for relaxation.
