The Old West Inn — Hotel in Willits

Let me start by saying, I would much rather leave a positive review it's so much more enjoyable and uplifting to hear, but NOT this time!! To be honest the location and value and cost are Very Similar to surrounding lodgings. Where they are VERY DiFFERENT is in 1## ONE arena. Customer service! SERVICE IS AWFUL HERE!! I will start with the Very COLD reception upon arrival. After an exhausting drive with my newborn little girl, I called to inquire about the price and availability for the evening. I was told $99 for the nite plus tax. I arrived about 10min later and expressed my delight to finally get some rest after an exhausting drive. Lets just say her greeting would be comparable to that of an interview with Jeffrey Dahlmer or John Gacy; Cold, Distant, Callus and LACKING any Empathy at ALL.! She stated that the price would be $140 plus tax for the evening. Naturally, I assumed she did NOT realize that I was the same person she had just spoken to on the phone. So, I mentioned that I was just qouted $99 by her over the phone. She seemed bothered and inconvenienced to say the least!! And, in line with her prior performance she unapologetically said "that rate is NOT available." Honestly, I cant understand why you would treat people this way. I've worked in the service industry over 20years and have never found myself treating a complete stranger this way, especially a potential customer!!! Needless to say, I WONT EVER STAY HERE!!!¡¡¡¡!!!!!!!! Trust me! THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER GREAT PLACES...

This motel is very clean and being in construction I notice things that other people don't. It is clear the owner cares about this place. Most older hotel/motels that have been remodeled or upgraded you can see the lack of care and the cheapness of the fit and finish in materials. This place doesn't have that. And by no means are they super high end either but where they could have cut corners they didn't. The staff was super friendly and helpful with local sites and places to visit.dont be fooled by the outside of the building, while the old west theme is cute and timely. The rooms are completely modern and comfortable. The parking is behind the building and separated from the street so your vehicle is safe. They have several e-car chargers down the side of the building. And you get zero road noise from the street. The showers have good pressure and no fluctuations like other older places. This place is really doing it right. They could loose the facade and still be a really cool place to stay, but it's kinda cool and I'm sure any kid would love staying in the jail room or the barbershop. But it is a little disappointing to my inner child that the interiors aren't themed. But I got over it. The beds a super comfortable and everything is well taken care of. There are only 17 rooms and they fill up fast. So if you are planning a trip to the coast and need a place to stay, that's not a chain and they actually care about you and your stay...

I stayed last week at the Old West Inn in Willits and had a really pleasant experience. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We checked in with Roshan, who was especially welcoming and immediately gave us coupons for the fantastic nearby restaurant, Lumberjack’s. Since the hotel has a partnership with this restaurant, we were able to enjoy a great and hearty breakfast there both mornings during our two-day stay.

What really stood out was that we received a helpful map and a one-page guide with recommendations for activities and dining options in and around Willits. Additionally, the female staff members were very respectful and even went out of their way to assist us when we asked about wine.

Regarding the room itself, it was spacious, and the bed was definitely comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was just right, and the provided body wash and shampoo were nicely chosen.

The only minor downsides were a bit of dust on the small shelf above the toilet and a broken lock on the door. However, this wasn’t a problem since the door had a second lock, and overall these issues were minor, easy to fix, and definitely not reasons to deduct a star.
