Green Acres Cottages — Hotel in Wimberley

Stayed here late January 2024

The room was not entirely clean. Hair was found on the bed sheets and nightstands, along with drink rings and a small plate. We believe there was a shoe print on the bed's fitted sheet, seemingly from someone stepping on the bed to access the AC/Heating unit. The floor was dirty and unswept/mopped. The GFCI receptacles in the restroom and kitchen areas continued to trip for no apparent reason. The refrigerator plug is on the kitchen circuit which caused the refrigerator to begin defrosting and drip on the floor when the GFCI tripped. The switch for the porch light was broken. It will turn off but turning it back on was a challenge and I had to giggle one of the porch lights to come on when I was able to get the switch to finally work. This was by far the biggest issue. When the heater would cycle on, it would make a horrendous noise and shake the cottage during every heating cycle. The unit did heat well and kept us comfortable during the freezing nights, but the noise was unbearable and we were only able to get very little sleep if any.

Considering we paid a 'cleaning fee' and were required to wash dishes and take out the trash, I expected much better service. Considering this property is only 3-4 years old, we expected everything to be in good working order. Very disappointing.

Watch out for PVC clean outs for the septic tanks of which some are located in parking spaces. They are a bit inconspicuous and I could see running over one, breaking the pipe and potentially causing some costly repairs which you may be liable for.

Other than the above, this is a nice property and I wish the weather would have been a bit better so we could take advantage of the amenities it has to offer.

We just spent Memorial Day weekend there and it was awesome. Our cottage was well stocked and super clean. The interior design was bery tasteful and the common area was great also.
