I'm typically not crazy about chain hotels, we generally stay in air b&b's. We stopped here late at night to get some sleep in the middle of a long drive. The front desk guy was rude & confusing. We asked if a handicap room was available because we have a larger service dog. The front desk guy insisted there were no handicap rooms & so we said ok a regular room is fine. When we got to the room, it was a handicap room! Lol. The room was huge, the shower was amazing & the beds were really comfortable. There was a nice breakfast in the morning. Checkout was at noon, we were grateful for that so we could sleep in. But for some reason the maid came knocking & opened the door at 11am. If we were not late, why do they come in? Luckily I was packing & not naked or something. If the staff was a little more courteous, this place would be perfect.
Update for 2nd stay on 7/13/22- I got to stay in the same room as last time which was really awesome. I have a large service dog & the handicap rooms are perfect and very easily accessible. The staff was all really friendly this time. But again with the housekeeping... Checkout is at noon, but just before 11:30am, after just getting out of the shower.. One of the maids tried to walk in the door again! This time I was not dressed & if the door had flown open I would have been pretty embarrassed! Luckily for me, I had the locked the latch on the inside of the door so it didn't open. They tried to walk in twice today & it really startles me every time because your not expecting anyone to walk in your room. I did tell the front desk woman & she was going to look into why they are doing that. Other than this housekeeping issue before checkout, we really like this hotel. The beds are comfortable & everything is very clean. There is a nice continental breakfast in the morning until 10am. They make a super cute towel elephant out of towels in the bathroom! There's a cold mini fridge & decent sized TV. The hallways can be a little noisy in the mornings, but thats not the hotels doing. I think there may have been an actual elephant in the room above us at 1am that couldn't sleep. This hotel is exact the halfway point on our long long drive to Arkansas. So we will likely keep stopping here during our travels. Please tell your housekeeping to not bust in, bother, or rush us until it's actually noon & we will continue to stay with you. Even a knock on the door would be better, but there really shouldn't be any rushing you out of your room before actual...
Read moreMy husband and I had to travel to Winfield on 10/20/2023 so we chose this hotel due to the reviews and location. We were there to put our daughter and unborn child to rest that passed on that prior Monday. We arrived at this hotel after noon proceeded to check in. As AARP members our room was priced at $150. We paid cash and was then told their door key machine was down and they would have to let us in our room. After entering the room I noticed a very strong odor of urine from the bathroom floor. I called the desk and a young lady came in and sprayed something in the toilet which did no good. After 4 hours I went back to the desk and asked if we could have our room key and was told they could not make keys till Tuesday! I then get an alert from my bank showing that this hotel charged my debit card $216.52. I immediately went back to the desk and the lady assured me it was just a hold and after the night audit it would come off my card. This morning we wake up to bury our daughter and unborn child to only find the charge still on my card. I again go back to the desk and was informed that the lady that checked us in not only took the cash but charged the card!!! The lady said “I will call my GM and get this fixed” this was at 10am. After the funeral we went back due to not receiving a call that this was corrected and was told that the Assistant Manager was going to fix it. This was already so unbelievable heartbreaking why we were there and now we have to deal with this! As of 6pm we still have not heard from this hotel nor has our debit card been...
Read moreI have 300+ nights in Hilton properties over the last 6 years. I'd say 80% of the time it is a satisfactory experience. The issues I had attempting to stay (having made a reservation via Hilton.com early a.m. day off check-in 2/5/2025) included:
Checked-in via the app as always with a 4:00PM arrival (completed around 3:30PM from the road):
Digital key did not work on arrival, I stood at the rear entrance for around 5 minutes until an exiting guest allowed me entry. Front desk clerk "re-sent" the digital key, it was another 5-10 minutes before the digital key was "green". Rode the elevator up, walked down the hallway to my room and of course, housekeeping had not completed their work. Can't fathom how this is possible when check-out time is 11AM and there were maybe 5 cars in the parking lot. And I checked in on the app with time to spare... I returned to front desk, asked the clerk to cancel my stay and I drove almost 3 hours to return home for the night. I will now have to depart my home well before sunrise to return to this area to complete my work on 2/6/2025 requiring the hotel stay. Thanks so much for wasting 6 hours of my life.
The only, and I mean ONLY positive to this experience was the extremely kind and accommodating front desk clerk. It's a shame that this location is so poorly managed to have put this young lady in such a difficult position, as it was obvious she was doing what she could to improve the...
