We stopped at the Winfield Alabama Huddle House on 7/9/2022 at 6pm just like we have for the past 4 years on our way home from our Florida vacation. When we arrived our order was taken in about 10 minutes. Our family consisted of 2 children and 4 adults. The kids ordered the kids pancake meals with fruit and milk. The 4 adults ordered a southwest bowl with a cup of fruit, garden omelet with toast and hash browns, southwest omelet with hash browns and a biscuit, and strawberry waffles with eggs and toast 25 minutes later the kids received adult pancake meals with one plate of pancakes burned, one adult received the southwest omelet and hash browns with no biscuit. We asked about the other 3 orders and the young lady gave us a blank look and went back to the counter. Another lady came over to our table about 30 minutes later and asked what we were missing. We told her about the mix up on the kids plates and what was missing. Another 15 minutes later an older lady came out and said they were running behind because of the power blinking off in the late afternoon and they hadn’t got caught back up. In about 30 minutes the young lady brought our ticket for over $80 and asked if we needed anything else. We replied that we would like the rest of our food. Another waitress came back and said they were going yo put the remainder of our order ahead of the others waiting. The young waitress came back and asked if we wanted the rest of our order to go. One of the adults driving said no I can’t eat and drive. They finally brought his order but it was only the strawberry pancakes there were no eggs and toast. The other 2 orders that were changed to the to go order were not complete. No toast with the omelet snd no fruit with the southwestern bowl. The older lady said she would discount the bill by 25%. We were there 2 1/2 hours during this frustrated mess. We kept our cool and was not rude to the staff. I know they acted overwhelmed and maybe some additional training would be helpful. Me, my boyfriend, and 5 other friends decided to come here after riding. At first when we sat down Mandy had come to take our orders and drinks. We had gotten two waffles before getting our drinks. Then only one of us had gotten scrambled eggs but every plate that came had scrambled eggs and stuff we didn’t ask for. We had let her know we didn’t get scrambled eggs but yet was ignored because the next plate was still scrambled eggs. Then half of us didn’t get our whole order cause we were aggravated at that point. Then it came to my plate. I got the Philly cheesesteak with fries. She brought it out with hash browns. As I got to eating the hash browns were spicy and then I noticed there were jalapeños in them. Which I did not ask for. It gets worse from here. My boyfriend gets up to pay and she’s trying to charge us for our friends food and on the ticket it said I ordered hash brown casserole with jalapeños and onions which was an additional charge for something I didn’t want. The whole time the boy kept going into the back constantly and he was wearing ear buds so couldn’t hear nothing the girl was saying. Then our friends were paying and she tried to charge them my food and other friend’s food. It looked like she was just pressing random buttons and didn’t truly know what we ordered because we each had to tell her what to charge us for. There were two other people in there with us. One guy didn’t get his order taken and he’d been there for over 30 minutes so he walked out then a guy was at the bar and his order was also messed up and he ended up leaving. I have never had a service so bad at a restaurant before. If I could rate zero stars I would. Also not happy about spending $30+ dollars for some stuff we didn’t get. When we got our order my bacon was not cook correctly, Chopped stake and mushroom gravy had no mushrooms and was just brown gravy. Both ordered a side salad and received them after we got our food even after they fixed the order. To top it off waitress looked at our table and could see we were out of tea and passed us by filling other tables drinks. Other tables had issues as well such as no silverware and when they got "freshly" cleaned silverware it had food on them. They received their order and it was not their food. Manager said they were short a server but we saw people standing around. All in all a bad example of customer service.
Update - Was told under new management so gave another try. This time placed my order and things seemed fine. Got my food and was missing a lot as well as not cooked right. After dropping off the food Sherry said she would be right back to full drinks. Ate my food and Sherry did not return. Nothing got fixed. Went to pay and advised about the issues and missing food. Sherry called us a liar and insisted we pay for items not received. I recommend going to Hamilton Huddle House instead.
Update 2.0 - The new district manager has reached out and has fixed the situation. As well as came to a happy agreement. This store seems to be under better leadership. Will change to 3 star and give new manager time to fix this store and hope to go back to...
