We've stayed here every year for nearly 20 years. My wife and I feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered it. For us, we enjoy the quiet time by the river to write. Every morning over coffee we read the paper - delivered to the sites by either Pam or Ann, the owners. They literally grew up at the campground and then took over its care, and now their daughters, Phaelon & Johanna, are part of the business...the third generation to be a part of this special place. We come back every year because it's like visiting family, the good kind of visits, where we are warmly welcomed and where we have our own space, and we don't have to try grandma's yucky potato salad. For us, it's a quiet place where we can set up our tent and be unplugged from the world. There are many services and amenities for those who don't like it so simple: Hookups for campers, a salt water swimming pool, clay tennis court, playground stuff for the kids, canoeing and kayaing, and a hut with flush toilets, hot showers, and a plug by the mirror for those who need a blow dryer. Each site has a fire pit, and you can purchase wood there or at other local spots. Please don't bring wood from other areas; this is how invasive species have been transported from one place to the next and they stay long after you've gone and can decimate the trees. There are plenty of trees here...so leave your species at home. And do buy local, there are great places to shop, eat, hunt for antiques and check out the galleries to see some cool art and crafts. It is possible while camping to clean up good enough to take in a play, there are some great theatre companies here. In town you can chat with folks over coffee or a local brew, eat some of the best seafood or produce you'll ever have, and buy some stuff you forgot to bring. And don't forget to buy gifts for those who aren't as lucky as you are when you camp...

Traveling in a 38 foot coach we stayed 5 nights in a site for big rigs. The site we had lacked gravel. The park is going for the green look and maybe that is why the sites were all grassy. If it had rained our grass pad would have been a mud pit and we would not have been able to get out. Is it that hard to put a little gravel down on the dirt? On the positive side because of all the grass there is no dust, which means not having to wash the coach after our stay. It is a very clean rv park (one of the cleanest we have been to). We had to pay an extra fee for checking in early. When you stay for as many nights as we did, I do not believe they should charge an extra fee for checking in only 90 minutes early ($45). Our satellite worked great here as our site was in the middle of the big open field. If you have a dog there is ample area to walk, however beware of their dog policy. Under no circumstance can you leave your dog alone in your coach or trailer, not even for 30 minutes. If you do….and you’re caught, you will be kicked out. If you are looking for a quiet and clean park where you can sit outside and relax… go here. We enjoyed our stay, but because of their dog policy I do not think we would...

Great camping near downtown Wiscasset. Pretty views & friendly staff. They also have tennis/pickleball court & swimming pool. We didn’t use either. All sites have a picnic table and fire pit too. No internet or cable which makes work a bit difficult, however cell reception is solid (AT&T) No problem getting to/from with a large Class A + Tow vehicle. All RV sites are gravel pad which I don’t mind. Full hookups 30/50 amp. Water pressure is on the lower side. Filled the tank and used onboard pump instead. Could use some more shade trees at the larger sites but very roomy. You’re in a field baking in the sun. Most of the treed sites are for smaller campers or tent site w/o hookups. Also a dock you could launch a canoe or kayak from as well as fish.

Absolutely gorgeous grounds! Nicest people run the place. Everything is immaculate! We'd go again in a heartbeat, however our 3 dogs plus my husband and I ended up with a LOT of ticks after our walks. 6 on one dog, 4 on another, 2 another, 2 on me, 2 on my husband. Thank goodness we used a good repellent and the dogs are treated so the ticks didn't latch, but unpleasant nonetheless.
