Wolcott Inn & Suites — Hotel in Wolcott

While checking in at the hotel my husband went into the room first to check it out. He came out and said he won't stay in that room. It smelled like smoke. We have a 3 year old and I won't stay in a room that smells like smoke. We reserved a non smoking KING size room. He showed us 5 other rooms. One was in the corner and it was quiet. It was only a queen size room. He showed me 4 others. They smelled worst than the first room that we originally had. We decided on the quiet corner queen size bed since it was already 7pm and wanted to shower and go to dinner. I asked him since we booked a KING size bed, and this room is a queen size bed, if we got a discount on it. He said "no since you booked it online I can't give you any money back" In all honesty, I would have been happy about $10 difference. But when we got in the room and actually brought our stuff in, I noticed how this place seriously needs some safety updates. There was a mirror in the room that looked like someone had smashed it with their hand and there were small pieces of the mirror hanging off. I made sure my son didn't go over that way just for the fact that he probably would have touched it. After walking around all day at Lake Compounce in the hot sun all we wanted was a good nights sleep. THE WATER WAS BLUE, AND THE BED WAS ROCK HARD. I mentioned to then man at check out about all of this he said oh well since you booked a king room and got a queen, I can give you a room for $20 then next time you come. I also mentioned the mirror, and he said Oh we know about it, it wasn't your fault. YES I KNOW THAT BUT YOU SHOULDN'T BE PUTTING PEOPLE IN A ROOM THAT IS NOT SAFE. I WILL NOT STAY THERE EVER AGAIN. I PAID $86.74 FOR A ROOM AND AM NOT SATISIFED. I LEARNED MY LESSON AND I WILL SPEND AN EXTRA $20 FOR A COMFY BED WITH THAT DOESN'T HAVE GLASS MIRROR PIECES HANGING FROM THE MIRROR. CORPORATE-PLEASE CONTACT THIS FRANCHISE AND MAKE THEM DO UPDATES BEFORE...

Please stay away this is a RAT motel dirty, roaches, the front desk staff is very rude they had kick a mom with her 2 babies out because they claim she had visitors and that no one is allowed to have visitors without asking the manager permission so they didn’t know the female was a state employee and well known in the community as a very respectful person, she refused to leave without her refund so they lied to the cops and claim that her and her husband were yelling and cursing the manager which was a total lie when the police arrived and realized what the manager did and said to her that she was having different men in and out her room, and when her husband showed up the manager felt stupid because the one that was there was her husband what happen was he had change clothes and car to go to a event and they thought that it was a different men when the manager accused her of course she gonna go at him with all force then to lie to her husband that he never said multiple men that’s when her husband turn his camera on and recorded the unprofessional staff that they have working there dirty looking just like the rooms they rent, is a RAT motel wonder is always empty, the photos on line are fake they aren’t the rooms they have is false advertising and liars SAD to say the MOTEL manager was told by the police to refund the money to that woman who had been humiliated by a men who couldn’t apologize to her but hide his nasty face from the camera while her husband recorded him trying to play victim once the video was playing lol like every other coward that hides behind a desk and steals peoples money a scam motel it is that place hope she sued them for mistreated and in front of her babies...

The Americas Best Value Inn & Suites Wolcott CT was not the least expensive option, but it was conveniently located for our needs. We paid $70 for our one-night stay. The only good thing I can say is that the fellow at the front desk was friendly. ||Knowing that this was a low-cost option, we didn't expect much - a bed, a bathroom, basic services - but even these were lacking. My husband requested extra pillows and was told that they did not have any. Upon check-in, the sheets were dirty, the bed was poorly made (blanket was between the sheets, not on top), and there were several hairs on the towels. The mattress was quite old and not at all comfortable. ||When we checked in, a commercial Bunn coffee maker was evident in the lobby. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room (a plus!), but no coffee maker and not even an alarm clock. In the morning I went to the lobby for coffee but was told they did not have any, so I had to drive two miles to the nearest coffee shop. ||There was a door marked 'Ice and Vending Machines.' I entered the room and the smell of mold was so overpowering, I quickly left, but not before I noted that the ice machine was not functional and the vending machine was mostly empty. ||When I brushed my teeth in the bathroom sink, the taste of the water was so foul, I was glad that I had brought some mouthwash. ||I strongly recommend that the management work on improving the issues above and that future guests avoid this hotel until major improvements...
