First and foremost, the people who run this place are extremely nice and welcoming. We ran into car troubles at check out and they graciously let us stay in the cabin until the tow company arrived. It was 4 degrees outside, and they saved us from freezing in a car for two hours. For that alone, 5 stars for customer service and hospitality.
Now, onto the cabin. We stayed in cabin C and the layout was beautiful, and spacious. It featured an open floor plan with a king sized bed (extremely comfortable!) that opened into the living room and kitchen space. The stone tub in the living room was a fantastic addition to our experience in the cabin. The outdoor hot tub was perfect to watch the sunset, especially with the beautiful view behind the cabin. The fireplace kept us nice and toasty in the evenings while enjoying our stay.
They even came at some point in the morning to clear off and salt our stairs so we wouldn't slip on the ice. Never heard them come, so they were quiet and respectable with that too.
All in all, highly recommend these cabins if you're looking for a stay in amish country. We have stayed in a few cabins around Ohio, and this was by far the easiest in and out process. Can't recommend...
Read morestayed at waterview lodge #3. It is pretty new and looks really nice but the kitchen/cooking supplies were very limited and cheap. It had one large knife which was dull. when I asked for some things, they brought me another small knife that was even worse. very hard to chop/cut with to make our dinner. We also didn't have a skillet to cook in, no hot pads, no measuring spoons, mixing bowls etc. they brought us a few cheap things from dollar general to get us through, but we were happy to get back home to our own kitchen. Also the bed was nice, but has drawers underneath with knobs that stick out, so when we got up in the night, we hit our shins on them which was painful. there is only about 12 inches on each side of the bed, so it's cramped and this particular bed design was a poor choice for the space. if you are not planning to cook there, you will probably enjoy it otherwise. that was our biggest disappointment. We had stayed at the individual cabins many times back when Martha had them and the kitchens were always well stocked and we always enjoyed it so much. This particular stay...not so much. We were hoping to relax and instead it was somewhat stressful. not what we were...
Read moreWe arrived and were blown away by the amenities. From the comfort of the bed to the jacuzzi and the hot tub on the porch, it was perfect. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and chose this cabin lodge for some peace and quiet and then it happened. The family renting the space above us had small children who seemed to really enjoy running thunderously from room to room (mind you, we have 5 children and completely understand them wanting to do so). We specifically chose Cricket Hill Cabins because of their 12 and over policy that for reasons unknown to us, the family above us paid no mind to (honestly could have been due to oversight or necessity). After listening to this for hours on end we called the cabin mgmt. to ask if there were any other options to which they happily allowed us to move to another unit that was not under that unit. Finally peace at last đ. The rest of our stay was happily uneventful quiet and restful. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to get away with a staff that is willing to do what it takes to keep its patrons pleased with their stay definitely go here, hopefully there won't be any toddlers above you lol. We will...
