Premier Carriage House Cottages — Hotel in Wooster

All of our previous visits have been fun and memorable until our most recent visit in April. We stayed in Cabin #11 and what was advertised and what we received unfortunately wasn't the same. Cabin #11 was, for those who have stayed previously, the business office/welcome center of the previous owner. The property is now under new corporate ownership. Cabin #11 is listed as brand new when in reality it has just been remodeled. The attention to detail and the warmth and charm of this cabin is lacking compared to other cabins. The delicious welcome basket is no longer provided, the engaging guest book was gone, and some of the basic utensils needed in the kitchen were not furnished. Also the outdoor electric grills are gone and are now inconsistently listed as either outdoor BBQ charcoal grills or just outdoor grills. When you do a Google search for Premier Carriage House Cottages before you click on their website, you will notice that a free breakfast is still listed as being provided. Not only is that not true, it is not possible because that was offered in the welcome center which is now Cabin #11. The updating and accuracy of the website is not only necessary, it is needed if the new corporate ownership of the property wants credibility and repeat customers. We used to speak highly of and recommend Premier Carriage House Cottages to family and friends as a nice play to stay when visiting the area. My husband thought we needed some alone time. Long story short our grandaughter was diagnosed with Autism. Needles to say premiere cottages charged almost 600.00 for 2 nights and the Jaquzzi jets were spitting out mold hole in the wall with wires hanging out where a fire alarm should be.The ceiling fan just stayed on low because the dial for speeds was not working and one of the lamps did not work last but not least the shower curtain held by a what was supposed to be tension rod was not tightened and just sitting on posts.When my husband closed curtain it fell on him in the shower. When we arrived they have notes pasted all over the cottage with rules.When we called manager they said they would comp breakfast and cleaning fee. The only apologized but were not sorry enough to comp our stay for the night. They said they will fix the problem tomorrow when we leave. It was peaceful but not worth $600.00. I have never wrote a bad post before but my husband and I were both really disappointed that they lie and say you will get this amazing cottage but then you end up with poor housekeeping and very very poor management that's only worried about the money they yake from you. If you stay I say good luck and you also get 1 26 inch TV in the living room and that's it!!! Overall this little cottage was just ok. Location was great, cottage itself was substandard considering there were footprints and sticky stuff on the bedroom floor upon our arrival with a washcloth that was used still in the shower. I believe the beds were the only thing cleaned.

My main concern is I wasn’t offered an insurance in case of an emergency. I booked a cottage on 2/27 for 2/28 and 3/1 for me and my husband. My husband was violently struck with the norovirus out of no where Thursday night. I called first thing Friday morning to cancel. Unfortunately I was given the option to reschedule for the next weekend for an up charge of almost $100 or still come that day. I ask if I could use it as a credit later or within a certain time frame and that wasn’t an option. I didn’t want to lose $511 for a 2 night stay so I packed up my husband to go infect an entire cottage because I couldn’t get a credit for later. Unfortunately, we got one night for $500 because he was so sick I had to bring him home the next morning of our first night with a temperature of 103.1.
