DO NOT STAY HERE!! SLEEP IN YOUR CAR BEFORE HERE!! At 1st glance it didn't look bad but once you get to a room and look RUN. The staff dont say much except theres a $60 fee they hold until "housekeeping" checks the room after you check out. It was returned so no complaint there. The parking lot is huge so thats about the only other positive. Theres 3 buildings with rooms we got the 2nd building right next to the pool. The room key didn't work so had to go back to the office and get it fixed and then the key worked. Looking at the room door ya someone definitely has a "moment" because all around where the key pad is, is kicked or smashed in. Looking down the sidewalk was no doubt permanent residents live there with furniture kids toys etc outside the doors. The room was well sorta updated maybe the flooring and blood red paint on 1 wall. The drapes have white spots of i dont know what on them, the bed felt damp and old, the bed frame was all metal from floor to mattress and every time you moved it sounded like thunder. The AC was loud and barely worked. There was HOT water and seemed like good pressure but once I saw an orange stained colored shower head where rhe water comes out Ya no way was I getting that on me and the floor between the toilet and tub was so soggy it felt like even at 120lbs I would fall threw it and not to mention the bathroom door doesn't close or lock. So ok I decide to go get ice for my pepsi well theres a sign a few door down that says ice, vending, etc so ok go to get ice. It's a dark smelly hallway no lights so walked with a phone flashlight on all the way threw found a light switch turned it on and OMG it's a storage hoarder filthy trash mess with a broken ice machine and well you can see for yourself in the pictures. So walked all the way back towards office finally found an icemachine and straight back to the room. I couldn't fall asleep with the thunder bed, the screaming n noice from the pool and outside the room. Finally maybe fell asleep around 1 or 2am but was up by 530 am because it was so uncomfortable, noisy, smelly, and creepy. Honestly that place and room made me feel like it could've been a murder scene!!! Neither one of us would use the shower or towels, NEVER even attempted to go to the pool, got dresses brushed teeth checked out and went straight back home. THERE IS NO BREAKFAST or COFFEE. so if it says there is then maybe you got a lucky or unlucky day but after what I saw I'd never eat there. If Google would allow ZERO or NEGATIVE stars this would be my first below ZERO place. It's ultimately your choice if you believe this or not and choose to stay there. Just PLEASE PLEASE look at the pictures and other reviews first, a couple dollars you save aint worth the lack of sleep uncomfortable...
Read moreThis was absolutely the worst hotel I have set foot in my entire life. There were hairs in the bed, stains on walls, ceiling, bathroom walls and shower, and bedding. More concerning was the smell of the room. It was mold or mildew mixed with stale smoke. My kids are asthmatic and were wheezing within 10 minutes. I got a headache which went away upon leaving, We found other accommodations and were checked out within 2 hours of arrival. That was the quickest we could do it as we had appointments on campus at College of Wooster. When we checked out they made not attempt to offer a different room which honestly I wouldn’t have wanted. They told us to talk to the manager Monday (our stay was Sunday to Monday). Now this is where we dropped the ball because I thought my boyfriend handled calling Monday. He thought I did. We got a charge statement and when we saw we were still charged for 2 hours (not even that was just the fastest we could get to our appointment, find somewhere else, and get our stuff and leave). The charge statement made us realize we miscommunicated on who followed up, so I called Econolodge in Wooster and was told there’s nothing they can do because I booked through a 3rd party AND I had signed a contract being told there are no refunds after being checked in for 15 minutes. Hmm, I was told what I was signing up as information about the deposit and that the room is nonsmoking. They told me to contact the 3rd party. I did. The response I got was the hotel was refusing a refund because no formal complaint was lodged. We told the woman working the front desk the issue. The only resolution offered was for us to call he manager the following say. They said had we complained they would have offered us a different room. We most certainly complained and were offered nothing, so it would appear your employees need trained better. I am not one to complain. I have stayed in less than stellar accommodations before. I probably would have looked past the cleanliness, but I could not get past the smell as it was making me and my family sick. This location has poor customer service, is disgusting, unsanitary, unhygienic, and a potential health hazard. Honestly, it should be shut down. The Quality Inn on the same street was...
Read moreNEVER BOOK ANYTHING AT THIS HOTEL!! YOU WILL BE VERY UNHAPPY!! The only positive about this hotel, could be the location. It was only about 15 mile from Amish country.
Upon arrival, my aunt, uncle, cousin, and her two small children were refused check in because the hotel said that they did not have a room that would fit five people. They were requiring them to book another room before they would allow them to check in. When my family called me upset, I called the hotel myself. When I asked the front desk/manager why he required a second room, when they have stayed in many Choice Hotels in one room. He responded he didn't allow 5 people to a room. Not wanting to delay my family's weekend get away, I then went online, and booked an additional room so they could get checked in.
Upon entering the first room, they realize the room was not up to their sanitation standards. They decided they did not want to stay in this hotel room, as they were worried about the critters that would be riding home with them in and on their luggage. When I called the hotel to inform them that they have decided they we're choosing to leave, the front desk/manager refused to cancel their reservation. The first reservation I had made, a month before, was a non-cancelation room. I was fine with accepting the lose of the cost of that room. What upset me, was the second room I just booked a half an hour before, he refused to cancel. When I made the reservation, it said I had until 4:00 to cancel. It was 3:45 when I called him to tell him I did not want the room. He refused to cancel it, and give me my points back.
This is the first time I have ever called Choice Hotels to report a hotel not being up to the Choice Hotel brand and standard. To say I was very unsatisfied with the customer service at the hotel, would be an understatement. I am currently waiting for Choice Hotel to do their investigation and reward my points and money back.
The front desk staff/manager was extremely rude and disrespectful to my...
