Rural King — Local services in Wooster

I want to say that I very much would have loved to give this store the five stars that it deserves... however the actions of certain employees have altered my rating. When I realized that I had the opportunity to write reviews on local businesses I jumped at the opportunity. I actually take this quite serious and want to provide the best feedback that I can. So I love this store along with everything in it. I am all for the outdoors, hiking, camping, grillin' on a hot summer day.. and if it's too hot let's buy and build a pool. This store covers more of a variety than I originally could have guessed. On a very serious level I think that (for me personally) it beats wal mart. I purchased my favorite portable power bank(recharges USB devices) there for 8$ 20000mAh. It also supports a "c" charger, and has dual USB smart outputs at 2.1A. For the tech nerd this is for all things considered the best deal you can find. A similar product with similar specifications at Walmart would be almost ten times as much. So aside from great deals on things I wouldn't have expected there was a downside. The whole time in was in the store, an employee followed me as if I was going to steal. Literally around the whole store, and even went as far to say on the walkie talkie have back up ready. She was surprised when I strolled up to the register and bought my items. It took everything in me not to be rude to the woman. Be advised you may be treated like a criminal, judged based on your looks... this was quite an offensive shopping trip and that employee should be ashamed of themselves, as should the person who hired them, and the store itself. I will try to avoid going there the next time...

We bought 3pt 10-Row Seeder on 11/24/23 brand new still in the crate. Drove 9 hours round trip to get the machine. Got home and noticed the hoses had weathered and broken. Call back to rural king for assistance on replacements. Was directed to the warranty number. Called the warranty company and was advised this was not covered under their “limited parts warranty” because we bought the item on sale. So called back to rural king and the sales person said he would see if he could help. Was in contact shortly after then nothing. Not even a call to advise he couldn’t help us. Found another customer service number for rural king and thought we was gonna get help. NOPE! Transferred back to the same Field Tough/ TRI Global warranty people. Was told to get the parts, had to buy them at $12 each. Lacey was the rudest customer service individual I have ever met. This is a parts manufacturer defect. This is a machine used outside and the tubing is busted. But based on her comment, because we bought it on sale the warranty is voided. We did NOT buy this as is. We bought it brand new in the crate. Does not matter she said. We paid for the parts, but this is been a horrible experience for something that started off great.

I have tried to purchase the 10' by 10' pop up canopy for $39.95 from the Wooster, Ohio Rural King twice with no success. Each time I have been told that the canopy in the newest flyer is in stock but when I get to the store they have none in stock. The store is about 35 miles from my home. The first time was about a month ago so today I went to the Marion, Ohio store that is also about 35 miles from my home and the very same thing happen. The Marion, Ohio store showed them in stock but they had none. I ask the associate to call any Rural King that might have the canopy and I would drive to pick it up. She ended up calling the Wooster, Ohio store and once again they said they had it in stock for sure this time. They also stated they would hold one for me at the front desk. I drove the 60 some miles to Wooster, Ohio from Marion, Ohio and guess what. You are correct nothing at the front desk and no canopy for $39.95 to be found in the store. The inventory information and customer satisfaction is terrible and I will never set foot in a Rural King store again.

I would like to add an update to this review. Rural King responded to my rating and made it totally right with me. Jon did a great job and assured me that the problem has been addressed within his store. Thank you Jon for your time...
