The Grand View is great. The proximity to the ocean is amazing. When you open your room door on the second and third floors all you can see and hear is the ocean. Yes, there’s a main road between you and the ocean but traffic noise cannot be heard through the nice new sliding doors. When on the balcony at high tide all you can hear is ocean. I know this because I’m sitting on the third floor as I write this review. I’m staying here while at work and the staff has been very accommodating even with my ever changing schedule. Never had a problem with WiFi even when streaming movies. The showers are awesome, great water pressure and hot water. I love the beds but I understand that’s personal preference. The rooms were clean with fresh towels daily. To be able to have a Dunkin K-cup coffee hit the spot sitting on the balcony on a cool morning. The balcony furniture was the most comfortable I’ve ever sat it. I already ordered 4 for my deck at home. I did not go swimming in the heated indoor pool but it was also clean with nice pool towels to use. The pool also had a great view of the ocean The staff provided me with a beach chair to sit on the rocky beach with. The balcony’s provided you with one of the best sunrises around. The Sun rises over historic Nubble light house which can be seen lying in bed. The refrigerator was a good size, enough for 4 leftover meals when my family came and stayed with me. I have an oversized work truck and parking was so easy in their oversized lot. If stairs/mobility is an issue, the stairs to the 2nd and 3rd floors could be tough but that’s ok, they have 10 first floor rooms. I did my research and the ocean being so close cannot be found, for even double the price. For under $180 Per Night this place is a gem and will be back for years to come. Thank you to the staff and the owner for making my time away from home as comfortable as...
Read moreRented a room for 5 for 5 days. Arrived to a small room with accomodations for 4. Super busy unsafe road right at the front door. No cot was available. We have 3 kids in our family of 5 so we then realized we could not stay here. We asked for any kind of refund told we could not get it unless they rent it out again so we ate $1,200 and we're forced to pay another $970 at another hotel in Kittery that offered accomodations for 5 like we asked for. Extremely unhappy and would not recommend the Grand View Inn & Cottages for any family. Extremely upset over this experience as we were looking forward to the view and our accomodations for 5 but instead ended up giving the hotel $1200 for absolutely nothing.....book at your own risk. UPDATED - 8/5/21 - I WANT & NEED TO GIVE A HUGE THANK YOU to the GRAND VIEW INN & COTTAGES IN YORK, ME for addressing our situation and making things right. In hindsight, I let the frustration of the moment get to me. My son is autistic and the stress of the moment for him that day..well, I allowed it to get to me as well. Most places would not have refunded us anything and after reviewing the policy, Grand View Inn & Cottages certainly didn't have too either. It was an unfortunate situation but the Grand View Inn & Cottages should be commended for doing the right thing when most others would not have. I apologize for the frustration but absolutely THANK YOU! Especially during hard times / Covid times when renting out space can be difficult. It's rare that people take the time to understand another's situation these days and even rarer that they respond accordingly. Grand View Inn & Cottages took care of our situation and I'm forever grateful. THANK...
