Ordered a lobster dish. Was not expecting to have to pick meat out of the shell. Was having trouble getting the tail meat out of the shell with nothing but a fork and butter knife. Waitress saw me struggling and completely ignored us. Never asking how we were doing or how our meal is until bringing the check to the table. At that time I told her I wasn't impressed. She said if I had told her she would have gotten me something different. When would I tell her she completely ignored us. She asked the customers at the tables around us multiple times how their meals were. We always tip well and we gave her a 29% tip that she definitely didn't earn. Would have been nice if menu or waitress mentioned the shells. Would think that they would provide something to get the meat out of the shell with the meal. The whole belly claims were a very small portion that was mostly batter. The serving looked large although it consisted of a large order of fries with clams on top. Will not be returning.

Full Disclosure: Offseason stay in the middle of June. Friendly staff. And surprisingly decent sea food. Got the scallops one day and the lobster roll the second. Food was great. Drinks were great. My biggest complaint, and this would be nitpicking the hell out of this restaurant, but on busy weekends (such as, 1 or 2 weddings where the Inn across the street has no vacancy) you would think, even though it's offseason, the restaurant may want to adjust their hours, or put more staff on the schedule. Because kicking paying customers out of your restaurant at 8PM because the bartender doesn't want to make anymore drinks, sounds like a bad busines model. I have money to spend, and no one to take it. And this is June 17th. It's not like it's February 1st. Maybe some coordination with the hotel, would allow for better planning Just a thought. Great views from the deck.

Update dropped from 4 stars to 3 stars. The food was still good, potatoes were a bit gummy from being pre-made, and the haddock was slightly over cooked. Scallops were perfect. The drinks were made well. The biggest change is you used to be able to see the beautiful ocean while eating dinner, that is no longer the case. They had to add rocks to their wall and the view is lost. We were very disappointed. Precious review: This restaurant had something for everyone. There were people dressed up for a dinner put, while others were more casual after a day at the beach. The food matched the dress code, they had food that ranged from casual to formal. I appreciated that the seafood was fresh and not over cooked. The burger was over cooked.

Unfortunately we had a horrible experience this evening. Myself and 2 other female companions came in for dinner and sat outside. The waiter was a young man who looked to be in his early 20's. The service was HORRIBLE. Our server had a nasty attitude, rolling his eyes and chuckling under his breath when I said I did not receive what I ordered.

We ordered a meal each and I ordered soup to start along with 3 drinks and 3 waters. The waters didn't arrive till the end of the meal and only after I repeatedly asked for them 4 times and after we saw every table around us... including those which arrived after us... receive their water before us. My two companions received their meals at the same time I received my soup. After which the server came to ask how the meal was and I said "great accept that I have not received my entre or the waters" to which he asked what i had ordered for an entree (he clearly forgot what i ordered and hadn't put it in) it took 20 minutes for my meal to arrive after I told him I had not receive it. (clearly sent to the kitchen only after I said i didn't receive it. ) When my meal arrived it was the appetizer version of the meal I had ordered instead of the meal version. By then I was so hungry I just ate it anyway. It was PEI mussels which were Unfortunately tough and the shells were broken and mixed in with the mussels making them difficult to eat. PEI mussels are one of my favorite things to order, I have had them all over and this is the worst I have had them.

When the server returned to ask again how everything was I said I had not received the meal I ordered and he smirked and laughed under his breath while he said "oh im so sorry" in a sarcastic tone.

I have owned restaurants and worked in them previously. I know food service is not easy as specially in touristy areas. However this server was not only incompetent at his job but had an attitude as well.

No complains about the rest of the food we had. I come to York often and usually spend quite a bit when I am in town and almost always tip great (almost always because I did not tip this server well). I will never go back to this restaurant and will recommend others do not as well. Idk what this servers deal was but I watched him give others around us better service and then not only give us extremely bad service but do so with a clear attitude of contempt particularly when I said I had not received my...

I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here this past September and it was absolutely a horrible experience. First off, we strictly choose the location because it was on the water and we discussed with the general manager, that we would like to be outside on the patio unless it rained (as the decor in side the restaurant looks like a circus). He guaranteed that this would be the case. This was planned 5 months in advance. It was perfect weather that day - and when we arrived, the restaurant was fully packed on the patio and it was not set up for us at all. In fact, they opened up the patio to all customers when the manager specifically said it would be reserved for our dinner. When we arrived we weren't even told this just ushered off into the corner where tables weren't even set up. It was completely embarrassing and guests all had to push tables and chairs together as nothing was arranged .Even inside our supposively "reserved" section, obnoxious townies were sat right next to us, making ridiculous comments when we were giving speeches.

We were then assigned one waiter (who was a very hard worker) for 35 people. However, we all had to wait 45 min for a drink and pretty much after that we had to keep going up the bar to get our own drinks. I asked the manager - why we would only have one waiter to assist and his response was that "they were short-staffed" and doing everything they could do. Yeah - well he KNEW that we had the place reserved 5 months in advanced and if there wasn't a way to accommodate us then I would have liked to been notified just like we weren't notified about the patio. They had no problem sitting customers but couldn't even give us more than one waiter?!? ABSURD.

Then there was the food if you can even call it that. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. COMPLETELY UNDELECTABLE. It basically tastes like heated up leftovers that are completely tasteless - I didn't even eat my meal. Drinks were terrible too - they don't know how to make any cocktail - all drinks just taste like crappy vodka mixed with gatorade.

This was the biggest regret of my wedding. Completely embarrassing - avoid the disgusting place at all costs. Not to mention when you have someone running the place who is completely unprofessional and never apologized once for not being able to accommodate us or kept to his promise that the patio would be reserved...

I have been going to this restaurant for years. Food isn’t great but great location. I have 3 kids. Had a stroller. Hostess saw us leave it outside. She said we could bring it in. My wife said maybe later if one of kids gets tired. My 2 year old was tired so we asked the waiter and he said yes bring it in. We were outside seating and it wouldn’t be in an isle. It would be on the rocks next to the table. My wife went to get it. The manager said what are you doing you can’t bring that in. My wife said that she was told it was fine. The manager said it’s not and asked 3 times who told her that very confrontationally. She brought it back outside. Told me and I said to waiter what happened and after how the manager reacted I wouldn’t be back. A few minutes later 2 managers came to our table to confront my reaction. Which only is throwing gas on the fire. Why it takes 2 managers I have no idea. They told me they never allow strollers in which isn’t true because I have been allowed to bring them in with my 2 older kids in the past. It felt like they wanted to make it known they were in charge and throw the little power they have around. One manager said she worked their for 11 years…like I was supposed to be impressed. It showed me her lack out ambition. She tried to say it’s a fire hazard. We are outside stroller isn’t in isle…. And the place was dead on the 4th of July. We tried to go elsewhere earlier but everything was jammed with long wait times so we went there. It’s not surprising this is the only place in town with the best location but completely dead. Hostess and staff are great. Food isn’t ….management awful. It’s a shame because staying across the street in the ocean suites when the resort is all kids you would think their restaurant management would be in the hospitality business.

Simply say the staff was mistaken and apologize for that. Don’t attack a women for bringing in a stroller when she was told she could and demand to know over and over who told her it was ok. Be polite and there would be no issue. I am a business owner on a much different scale than sun and surf and if I heard one of my employees treat one of my clients the way we were treated they would have been fired...
