TIA is a wellness resort, and it has been specifically tuned for the purpose of relaxation and quiet - a place where you can traverse within your mind and free your spirit. I think it has truly achieved its purpose. From the moment you walk through the doors and go into the hallways, every element (scents, sounds, colors, plants) in the environment has been considered to offer you an immediate calmness and restfulness.
Staff are incredibly attentive and detail oriented - they anticipate your needs and track your stay so that they can be as responsive as possible. Truly, I've not experienced this level of service in a long time, even from more prominent international hotel chains. I am so thankful for the level of professionalism and service provided by the staff and the managers.
Gets a glowing recommendation from me - I can't wait to return!
This is not a place I would recommend for a large family with very young kids (although I observed many guests brought their infants and children) - because this place is designed for quiet, you wouldn't really use the pool and waterfall and other amenities for children to run wild and play. You should come here with the intent to cut yourself from the busy city, disconnect with your routines and connect with yourself, your spouse, and perhaps close adult friends - even if that means disconnecting from your children (I considered suitability for corporate Teams - if so, I think each member needs to be comfortable being in some state of undress, as you might be walking in a robe, or sharing a room that has a generally open concept).
The included spa services (80mins) are excellent, with lots of great choices from the Spa menu. Each one left me so revitalized and relaxed. I wish so much that we could get more minutes out of the day.
The private section of beach is fantastic, but do be aware that the tides and conditions are tricky, and you may be unable to enjoy time in the sea depending.
The included morning breakfast buffet is excellent. Not an overabundant, wasteful selection but with solid range nevertheless. In terms of food composition, they keep to their ethos of wellness while maintaining very good taste. It was a bit unclear at first, but every guest is entitled one of two options; the morning buffet breakfast, OR an all-day breakfast that can be brought to you at a place of your choosing - but you can only choose ONE of these options once per day.
If I were forced to knock half a star off, I would say, as they do not provide an included lunch and dinner, the dining options from the bistro or main dining hall are a bit lacking compared to the breakfast. Taste wise, I also did not think that the quantity or the quality of the ala-carte meals are at the level they need to be and, to be frank, they simply are not value for money as well. Certainly, the mood being set is of high-class dining, but I think the execution of the food is a bit lacking (emphasis on "a bit", as in, very slightly).
The rooms are large and comfortable. As mentioned, it has an open concept, so do share the room with people you feel safe being naked around, or who can give you privacy when needed. TIA also has 3 and 2 bedroom villas, which has rooms that are neatly segregated and have total privacy from each other, with a common living space between and a personal pool. So if you are going in a group, sharing a large villa may make the most sense.
There are 3 minor improvements for the rooms: 1. they used a marble tile everywhere - this gets slippery, so be careful about tracking in water or when using the bath or tub (and water condenses on the tile very quickly when you open the doors) - frankly, I'm surprised no one had a bad slip; 2. there is really no meaningful way to hang clothing in the room (e.g. wall hooks), apart from the closet - however, you are likely to have lots of wet clothes that will need airing; 3. it was difficult to access the TV HDMI/USB ports and there were too few international power outlets - a solution would be great! A BBQ area/pit would also...
Read moreThis is a really hard one to summarize. The overall expericence was pleasant although many faults and odd choices made this expericence lacking refinement and value.|I will start with the positives:|- the spa therapists are professional and nicely trained although there is no luxury perks at all. Same complimentary water and tea everytime and lacking of small touches. The massages are overall very good but the treatments felt similar.|- The food quality is high standards and tasteful. They could improve variety at breakfast but overall the food is really good.|- The grounds are beautifully groomed.|- The pool is beautiful and in great condition but gets in shade early in the afternoon. The problem with this area derives from the huge highfloor resort that is being built next to the hotel. It causes shade to most of the resort in the early afternoon. Besides that even in the morning the pool sunbeds don't get direct sunlight either. It is a small detail but overall I didn't feel very confortable in the pool lounge area.|- the beach is gorgeous and very clean. It was better than anticipated!|- the service is overall good but not as refined as other 5 stars in Vietnam. Many staff don't greet you for instance. Pool service at the other hand could be much better, staff is not pro active.|- automatic toilet at villas are a plus.|Now the negatives:|- Value. Overall I felt the resort to be too expensive for what it is. The facilities are good but not refined for the high price tag. You end up by paying for the free daily spa in the room price. All the other aspects are subdued to the average value of the resort.|- villa windows and door frames. They need to urgently upgrade the frames to aluminum or other modern structure. The atual old wooden frames don't close completely, allowing gaps in the corners. |- mosquitoes. In my 3 weeks trip across Vietnam i had only 2 mosquitoes bites: one at the indoor breakfast of TIA and other inside at the gym of TIA wellness resort!.. I think this says a lot regarding this issue. I am very carefull with mosquitoes and unfortunately this resort is not! There are a lot indoors! They don't want to use chemical repelents due to the ecological issues but they don't make other measures also. Gaps in the windows, no first door at the common villas entrance for instance, no natural oil burners repellent.. I mean no care at all! For instance most times I opened my villa main door a mosquito immediately got in. I don't think this is acceptable! I think the only place I didn't saw mosquitoes were in the spa treatment rooms, fortunately!|- there is no coffee shop for snacks in the hotel. They only serve coffee and tea at the lobby, so you are stuck to the restaurants for food. Should be changed!! |- dinner main restaurant is too expensive.|- spa treatments could benefit with choosing of oil scents and aromas and more luxury touches.|- bath amenities products at the villas are just poor quality. Should be totally replaced.|- gym facilities are new but lacks variety of equipement and weights. Should be vastly improved for the resort concept and definitely there is a need of electric difusor repelents inside. I used the gym once, saw some mosquitoes, got bitten, never returned..|- one very bad aspect in the check in was the fact they gave me a dirty stained key card cover, just a bad first impression. The overall cleanliness of the hotel is good though, the staff do their best, they just need modern vacuums and equipment (get a dyson vacuum for instance!). Found some long hairs in the room due to poor vacuum cleaners. |- bed mattress support is of cheap quality.|This made an overall underwhelming but still enjoyable stay. Would I return? No! Unless they upgrade villas frames and make conscious proactive serious measures against mosquitoes...
Read moreMy partner and I visited TIA Wellness Resort in Da Nang as part of our first trip to Vietnam. After spending time in Saigon and Nha Trang, we chose TIA to meet our parents in Da Nang and enjoy some relaxation time. We booked a two-bedroom garden view villa with a private pool primarily for the wellness aspect and the beauty of the grounds.
Check-In and First Impressions
Check-in was smooth but lacked the warmth we expected from a wellness resort. However, the initial impression of the villa was positive—lush greenery, a private pool, and two separate bedrooms with private bathrooms.
First Night Incident: Heater Fire
On the first night, the AC unit in our villa malfunctioned, leaving the room extremely cold. The staff provided a space heater for my parents’ room, but within minutes of installation, the heater caught fire, filling the room with smoke and toxic fumes. Thankfully, we reacted quickly, but the room was no longer usable due to the damage.
Room Relocation and Upgrade
The next morning, the manager was extremely kind and offered us an upgrade to a three-bedroom beachfront villa for the remainder of our stay. The upgraded villa was stunning, with breathtaking ocean views, a large pool, and ample space for the family. However, there was no direct beach access from the villa due to bushes blocking the path, which required walking to the main pool area to access the beach.
Resort Amenities and Wellness Experience
• Daily 80-Minute Massages: Each adult enjoyed a complimentary 80-minute massage daily, which was a highlight, especially for our parents. • Breakfast and Wellness Perks: Daily breakfast was included, though the buffet had limited variety. TIA also replenished the fridge every morning with detox water and wellness snacks, which was a thoughtful touch. • Beautiful Grounds: The resort is surrounded by lush greenery and well-maintained paths, creating a serene atmosphere.
Staff and Service
The staff was courteous, attentive, and spoke decent English. Since we speak Vietnamese, communication was smooth. Housekeeping was thorough, with daily replenishment and cleaning that kept the villa spotless.
Dining Limitations and Resort Access
• Limited Food Options: The lunch and dinner menus lacked variety, and the quality was underwhelming. As a result, we often left the resort to eat elsewhere. • No Kitchen Facilities: The villa had a sink and fridge but no kitchen, which meant we couldn’t prepare our own meals—a bit inconvenient when dining options were limited. • Location: The resort is about a 10-minute Uber drive from the main beach area and downtown Da Nang.
The Oceanfront Villa Experience
Our stay was elevated by the unexpected upgrade to the beachfront villa, which made the experience more memorable. However, now that we’ve experienced that villa, it’s hard to imagine staying anywhere else at TIA. Unfortunately, the beachfront villa is quite expensive, so returning would depend on finding a more favorable rate.
Final Thoughts and Recommendations
TIA Wellness Resort offers a peaceful and luxurious escape with attentive service, clean grounds, and thoughtful wellness amenities. However, prospective guests should be aware of: • The limited food variety and lack of kitchen facilities. • The potential inconvenience of having to leave the resort frequently for meals. • Booking the beachfront villa may be worth the extra expense for an unforgettable experience.
Despite the initial setback with the heater incident, we had a great time overall and would consider returning—if we can secure that...
