We stayed at Arena Cam Ranh for over 5 weeks, and while the beachfront location is beautiful, the resort unfortunately falls short in many important ways—especially for a place claiming to be 5 stars.
The property is huge, but it’s not well cared for. There’s trash in the bushes, under bridges along the lazy river, which only ran once during our entire stay. The buildings seem to have been constructed with very cheap materials—you’ll see rust on mirrors, handles, and other metal surfaces throughout the resort.
The outdoor playground is unusable—rusted, broken, and unsafe. It’s there, but basically nonexistent for kids. The indoor playroom was always dirty, with food leftovers, stains, and a generally filthy feel. It’s just a bare room with no real toys, and although it seems recently built, it’s already in poor condition.
The beach is gorgeous, and the water is clean and clear—but again, it’s heartbreaking to see the beach littered with cigarette butts, all sort of plastics, food wrappers, you name it. Each resort on the beach just clears their small section and pushes the rest of the trash to the sides. It really takes away from what could be a stunning place.
Safety is another serious concern. Many emergency exits were blocked, tied shut with ropes or cables, or blocked with sandbags—even though the emergency signs point directly to them. The indoor playroom also has a second door I assume it’s there for emergency but that stayed locked the entire time. In an emergency, this could be dangerous.
During the weekends, the lobby gets very busy with visitors, parties where companies bring their employees, and loud music—but during the week, it feels deserted and oddly empty, almost abandoned. There’s no real community feel or steady atmosphere.
In terms of food, there are only two restaurants on the property: Coral, which is in the hotel, and Spoon, a Korean restaurant. Both were decent, but nothing special. Beyond that, there are no other food options, no cafés, shops, or convenience stores. Also, the laundry service is quite expensive (15,000–50,000 VND per piece), with no self-service or alternative available.
If you’re coming for a short visit, you might still enjoy parts of the stay, especially the beach—but for a long-term visit or family stay, we wouldn’t...
Read moreThis hotel lacks preparation for the guests. Their staff are not trained properly. We stayed here for the Oceanman event competition, and the entire hotel staff were moving like a joke. None of them could answer questions or do anything that would give any form of customer value.
First, we arrived early, we know there is no one staying there yet they cannot give us a room bec they said they don't have enough staff and there are many guests. They already know that the weekend will be full because of the event but why prepare the room only on the day the guests arrive and not the day before or even days before. So okay, we waited for them to be ready and while waiting, I askes them to store my food in the fridge but they kept asking me what my room number is when we don't even have a room in the first place. Second, they don't serve any proper food, all they could offer was a "buffet" the whole day. No other places to eat in that area. Third, their staff just locks the walkway door that is close to the event venue saying that the door is only for the restaurant, I'm pretty sure the architect of the building designed it so people can easily access the hotel from it's facilities. Fourth, They know that a sports event is happening there and yet they don't adjust the breakfast time to accomodate at least 90% of the guests staying in the hotel. Fifth, we requested to have breakfasts prepared early and we would pick it up at a specific time. Their staff wrote it down and said they understood. At the time we arrive to pick up, they know nothing and couldn't figure out anything.
I would not recommed anyone this hotel. Sure, the beach area is nice but tons others beside it. This hotel is no way satisfying an "international standard". They have zero hospitality and zero customer service. It may not be the staff's fault but the way they are managed and organized. Definitely, it ruins...
Read moreDefinitely not a 5 star resort. The buffet is very small hardly any options by far this is the smallest buffet at a resort I have ever seen and the food is low quality. The food gets put out once and that's it. They can't make a omelet there no ingredients to go with it, i was told if want something to go with it go find it and we will add it in. Every resort has a proper set up for making an omelet, this is how basic the buffet is. The beach is nice apart from all the plastic rubbish from old toothbrushes and various other plastic rubbish, no one has an interest to clean it up and the rubbish goes from the sea all the way to the resort. There is no excuse not to clean the beach. The resort is big but there is hardly any staff it seems there is only about 10% of the people staying here, now I know why that is. The pool is a good size They have a lazy river I was hoping to use but they only open it to use on Saturday and Sunday probably due to lack of staff. The grounds and facilities are clean the rooms are very basic something you would expect from a 3 Star hotel. To anyone that reads this before you have booked here please look at the other better resorts at long beach to avoid being...
