I urge you read my review, as this experience cannot be missed out on, especially with the amazing Green Riders! Words cannot do it justice. This is by far the greatest experience I have had when travelling, and maybe throughout my whole life... and that is both due to the activities and places visited, but more importantly because of the love, kindness, generosity, and selflessness I was treated with. I feel as though I have made great friends, both of whom I am sad to be saying goodbye to: Quan and Hiep, who not only gave a great tour, but were a pleasure to spend time with, whether it be talking about culture, or music, tattoos and fashion, anything at all. On this tour you are submerged into a side of Vietnam you may not be so familiar with, one that seems to be free of mass tourism, and natural, and it feels as if an entire hidden gem, sacred. You will have the chance to stay at Homestays, with the locals, and enjoy the specialty foods of Cao Bang, as well as explore the culture in numerous ways, including hikes, view points, stopping in villages, waterfalls, everything you could imagine! It could not be more fun.
Furthermore, on a more personal note, the help of the host, as well as Quan, was unrivalled. The days we had the tour happened to align with my partners birthday, so l messaged them about it, and they surprised her with a celebration and cake, which was beautiful and delicious, and made her very happy (image attached). Quan also took me to a local flower designer and we designed her her own bouquet, which felt very special and sentimental, a lot of fond memories! Lastly, when we left, they treated me to a pair of their sliders, as my shoes were practically destroyed, which is the best souvenirs I could ask for, however I managed to forget my partners flip flops, and through much back and forth conversation, worrying and more, Green riders managed to get the flip flops to us, racing against time to deliver them (thank you again to Quan for going above and beyond). Honestly, I feel in their debt, not just for the experience, but the never-ending additional ways they helped us, both relating to the tour, and just in general. They are amazing people, good Samaritans with an inspirational level of selflessness. If I could go back and re-do it, I would do it in a heartbeat, and pray that this isn't my last time with Green Riders in Cao Babg! I urge you to give it a try, it's truly special.
Ps - Hostel and staff amazing, lovely warm shower!
Thank you...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at the Green Riders House Cao Bang multiple times throughout a 15 day period and used it as a base to adventure through Cao Bang Province and Ha Giang Province. We couldn’t be more happy with homestay and the service we received as well. Linh, Chuyen and the rest of the staff were super helpful throughout our entire experience. They offered superb recommendations on attractions to see along the way, peaceful accommodations and had some delicious restaurant and cafes in Cao Bang as well. Chuyen even took us out to his favorite Bun Cha place which we absolutely loved. The entire staff gave the place a real homey feel. We had breakfast one of the days that we were there and that was very tasty as well. While we were driving down from the peak of Phia Oac, we had some issues with our brakes because the terrain was very steep. Linh was very quick to address that when we messaged her and had Chuyen bring out a different bike the next morning. We really appreciated that and felt much more comfortable with the new motorbike.
We booked a private room for each of the nights that we stayed there and we were very happy with the room. The bed was comfortable and the AC and WiFi worked well for the most part. The bathroom is a shared bathroom with one of the dorm style rooms, but we had no issues with that. The water pressure and hot water worked well and they provided body soap, shampoo and hand soap in the bathroom. The room was very clean and the bathroom was also clean, despite the fact that it was shared. When the private room was already booked on one of the nights, Linh booked us a room at her friends homestay for the same rate that we were getting at Green Riders. This place (An Homestay) was equal in quality and we felt at home there too.
We were able to store our big bags for the duration of time we were out exploring at no extra cost. Linh and her staff truly have a set up a great business and are very supportive in all ways. I highly recommend staying at Green Riders House and I also recommend renting the motorbikes from them as well. They do...

I went to Cao Bang, Vietnam to ride motorcycles through mountains with my son and his Posse. A dream come true in so many ways... Just not the way I had imagined.
We arrived on a sleeper bus at 5:00 am. By 7:00 am, while my friends were sleeping, adrenaline was coursing through my veins. I have been looking forward to this trip through the mountains for 12 months. I noticed there was a small shrine that was prominently arranged in the home. One of the owners explained they pray for the safety and well being of their family and the riders that flow through their home and share their lives for a few days. With permission & warm encouragement from the owners, I lit some incense and said a gratitude prayer. Today would be memorable. I wandered out into the community and by a twist of fate everything changed. I crashed my motorcycle to avoid a worse collision. A minor set back (broken clavicle and hospital visit). I alerted my son, who was now at breakfast and he immediately informed the owners of the situation. Without hesitation, they all came to aid. Concerned about my wellbeing, they never even brought up the damage to their bike until the next day, when I asked to discuss it. They invited me to stay in their home, break bread with their family and shared personal stories of their challenges, dreams and aspirations. Thousands of miles away from my own country and yet, in the Green Riders House, I was home. They nourished my mind, body and soul, recommending local experiences that were still in my physical capacity to enjoy. I had 3 glorious days to rest, reflect and best of all... (you guessed it immerse myself in the community with the locals. So much fun. Learned much, gained many new friends and most dear to me, I have another family and a place I call home. The Green Riders House! Many blessings Minh, Linh, Huong and Quan! I will be back with more friends to enjoy what my son and his friends call “the most authentic cultural experience they ever had traveling with a very unique means of transportation and...
