Thiên Ân Hotel — Hotel in Hà Giang Province

Made an unexpected stop in Yen Minh during our first day of the Ha Giang loop drive, and came across this place due to good reviews. We arrived and the owner with her baby were so warm and welcoming and showed us the different rooms she had available. We opted for one that was furthest from the main road. It was simple with a hot shower, clean bed, and a/c that worked perfectly. The bed is a bit hard as some other reviewers have mentioned, but my partner likes hard beds so it worked out nicely. Booked a room here as it had reasonable reviews. However, we left after an hour because there was no heating. We were staying in Feb(winter) and had didn’t the day in a bike so were cold. We were told by the owner that no where had heating the AC units were only for chilling in the summer. As it happened the room were given wasn’t what we’d booked, it was smaller but we didn’t raise this as all we wanted was to find somewhere warm to stay. We left and booked Milk Milk Homestay. The staff cancelled our two bookings for the night without any explanation. As we arrived they told us it had been some sort of mistake. Instead we were given a big family bedroom with 5 beds on a row for a lower price as he put it. Not what we expected. Ok for the price, but the the service was poor.
