The hotel has great potential, but there are a few areas that need improvement to make the stay even better.
Service & Atmosphere
The hotel staff is very friendly and genuinely tries to accommodate guests. For example, they allowed us to use the showers even after check-out, which was very convenient. They also let us sit in the restaurant while we were waiting in the morning, offering us coffee and a comfortable place to relax, which added to the warm and welcoming experience.
On the downside, around 8:00 PM, loud music started playing in the hotel restaurant, which turned out to be played by the hotel staff themselves. This felt a bit odd and excessive, but to their credit, they immediately turned it off when we asked, showing great responsiveness and attentiveness.
Breakfast
Breakfast was generally good, with a decent selection of fresh food. However, the experience was slightly disappointing because the coffee was cold – and that’s never a great way to start the morning.
Location
The hotel is a bit far from the center, which could be a downside for some travelers. However, the hotel itself is very cozy and well-equipped, making up for the distance. It has everything you need, including a great restaurant, so even though it’s not in the heart of town, it still offers a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
One-Day Loop Tour
The hotel offers a one-day loop tour for those who don’t have time to do the full three-day loop. We went on the tour with two young drivers—one on a big motorbike and one on a regular one. The initial price was 1,200,000, but as hotel guests, we received a discount and paid 1,100,000.
While the route itself was stunning, with breathtaking views, the overall experience felt unprofessional: • The guides did not speak a word of English, which left us unaware of what was happening and where we were going. • We were not informed to bring warm clothes, which made the experience much more difficult due to the cold weather. • There were no explanations about the places we visited—the villages, local agriculture, factories, the beautiful cave we explored, and other sites.
If they improved the guiding aspect, provided better preparation for the cold, and included explanations about the locations, this experience could have been worth the original price of 1,200,000-1,300,000. In its current format, I wouldn’t pay more than 800,000 per person.
Final Thoughts
This hotel has huge potential, and they genuinely try to provide good service. The option to shower after check-out and the availability of the restaurant for waiting guests are definite positives. While the location is slightly far from the center, the pleasant atmosphere and great restaurant make up for it.
With a few small improvements—such as more professionalism in the tours, attention to small details (like shower drainage and guest preparation for excursions), and enhancing the overall hospitality experience—this place could become highly...
Read moreThe place is a bit far from the city centre, beautiful view to the mountains. It wouldn’t be a problem if the food from the restaurant was decent, but sadly is not the case. We spent 3 days at this place, the first night we tried to order dinner half of the dishes weren’t available, we have to send back the pizza we ordered (they brought us another one and gave us the money back) the rest of the days we noticed the restaurant wasn’t really opened during day hours, so if you want lunch you need to go somewhere else.
The pool is green, and if it doesn’t look good or clean enough they add some blue colorant to the water. (i was shocked when I saw it)
The room was clean but the common areas haven’t been cleaned in ages (and with common areas I include the tables in the restaurant where dinner and breakfast is served, which are definitely not being cleaned in between services) the ones by the pool haven’t seen a table cloth in ages (if ever)
One of the floors is going under renovation, building works from 7am until 11pm. We ask if they could change us to a bungalow due to the noise, we were told yes, but a few hours later they changed their mind and told us we couldn’t move.
To complete our stay, the day before leaving, we booked a VIP bus night transfer to Ha Long Bay through them 20 minutes before departure they said that the bus was full and we had to go in a different sleeper bus (they gave us the price difference) our other option was to get the money back and book tickets by ourselves but of course, with that short notice we have no option. The bus we took and the pictures they showed us, definitely didn’t match.
The staff were nice, but completely clueless...
Read moreI just wrote an amazing review of this place last night after the Ha Giang Loop- which was still amazing. However, later that night me and 3 others went to the restaurant in the hotel and were extremely disappointed. Service was great but as I was eating my food I discovered THREE hairs in it. I brought this to the servers attention and she showed the chef who refused to give a refund on this meal. They tried to have me order something else which truthfully I didn’t feel comfortable doing after finding hairs in the original dish. Since I could not receive a refund, I requested a couple beers (4 total for my friends and I- which would have equaled out to the cost of my meal) and the chef refused. I don’t even like beer but had no other option for getting something for my money. After a back and forth about me not feeling comfortable eating the food and either needing my money back or 4 beers that would even out to the cost, they finally brought out the beers. It really upset me that even with hairs they could visibly see in my food they refused to give me back my money. After doing the Ha Giang Loop with 4 people, paying for an extra night in the hotel, buying a bus ticket with the hotel, coming to their restaurant for dinner, AND leaving an amazing 5 star review a couple hours early, it was really disgusting and disappointing that they would fight this much over a chef and kitchen with poor...
