Amazing homestay cum hostel in Ha Long City.
Stayed in a 6 bed dorm for 1 night.
Cons - It is a homestay so no elevators (If you can’t take stairs, then reconsider) Washrooms might be smaller and inconvenient for some as you have to take bath standing in a bathtub. Flooring is wooden so you have to leave your footwear downstairs. If you get late or want to come late, inform uncle as gates are closed by 11 PM.
Pros - Free breakfast provided which includes bread toast and coffee. Very homely, safe and comfortable dorms Uncle, Aunt and their son is very helpful. Curtains, Wifi is available.
They have private rooms also with washrooms attached on 1st and 2nd floor.
We booked our Ha Long bay with them and they didn’t charge a lot extra but cruise was okayish like the food and interiors of cruise. Everything else is same as other cruise operators.
Uncle dropped 4 of us to the port in his car and charged accordingly.
P.S - Ha Long is a seaside town and separated by water so if you want to stay near cruise port and night market, you can book your stay there.
Date of Stay - 31st...
Read moreWhere do I start, Hien and Quang were just lovely! Me and my partner Tess had never really stayed in a homestay before but right from the start Hien made us feel at home chatting away about her life and home of Halong Bay. Offering us to join her family for a Vietnamese dinner as it was a celebration meal as her son had just returned from University. Can I just say the best spring rolls in the whole of Vietnam too! Then the next morning we had a lovely breakfast while Hien played her guitar. Telling us of her beautiful stories about how she learned to play. Just amazing! Also the rooms...Very clean and we found it being a lovely personal touch how Quang had hand made the bed, lights and most of the interior of the room. In terms of needing transport or looking to book trips absolutely brilliant too. Quang gave us lift to Bay for good price and they sorted our bus for our next trip. Just all in all a lovely personal experience. We most certainly will be looking into more homestays but not sure if this will ever be topped!||Thanks again...
