Resort Review I recently stayed at this resort and had a mixed experience that left me with both great memories and a few notable frustrations.
The Good Stuff: First, the water park is a definite highlight – fun, well-maintained, and perfect for families or anyone looking to cool off and enjoy some excitement. The resort is tucked away in a quiet area, which makes it a lovely escape from the hustle of everyday life. The rooms were exceptionally clean, and the view from the rooms was stunning – definitely a selling point for this place.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, which was consistently good, and the prices for food and beverages were more than fair, especially for a resort setting. The staff at check-in and around the main facilities were welcoming, which set a nice tone at the start of the trip.
The Not-So-Great: Unfortunately, a few operational and policy decisions impacted the overall experience. The music blaring until 11pm made it hard to relax in the evenings, especially since the rest of the resort gives off a peaceful vibe. Adding to the frustration, beverage service stops from 6pm to 7:30pm unless you're all-inclusive, which feels unnecessarily restrictive. Same goes for happy hour – it's only for all-inclusive guests, which comes off as nickel-and-diming.
A few of the resort’s attractions seemed under maintained, and common areas lose lighting and fans after 5pm, making them uninviting. After 7:30pm, the only open bar is next to the kids’ area, which stays noisy until late – definitely not ideal for adults trying to unwind. Even worse, cold beer is rarely available right away – waiting up to 10 minutes while it chills in an ice bucket is not what you'd expect on vacation.
There’s also an odd inconsistency with VAT charges depending on the bar, and slow food/drink service coupled with a lack of attentiveness from staff at times made for a frustrating dining experience. Finally, the pools and beach closing at 6pm feels way too early, especially when you'd expect to enjoy the water during golden hour.
Final Thoughts: This resort has a lot of potential and some genuinely great aspects – the setting, food, and family-friendly water park are big pluses. But the inconsistency in service, limited evening options for non-all-inclusive guests, and operational quirks hold it back from being a top-tier destination. With a few adjustments, this place could easily become a go-to resort for both families and...
Read moreMixed feelings regarding this hotel. I would give it 3 stars. It's definitely not 5 star but has the potential to be. Pros food is lovely and good all inclusive options in the buffet area. our room was lovely with a shared pool outside our door niceta and the 2 egyptian entertainment staff are the absolute best proximity to the beach is wonderful multiple pools
Cons this resort only caters for Russians. All the entertainment is in Russian, staff speak minimal English. waterpark needs pulling down - there are many extremely dangerous parts of this. They also keep quiet a min of 1.35m is required to use the slides, so for younger children 6+ it's not good. It operates only 2 hour slots, 2x per day which was deceiving. no options for dinner dining else where other than the main buffet, the snack bar only operates outside of this time and food sits there for hours. kids club if run by the gentlement doesn't operate their itinerary and again only operates for minimal times in a day staff are very miserable and rude. The friendliest staff were the cleaners and ground keepers. Aside from the 3 mentioned above.
Overall we enjoyed our stay as there was a large group of us however I wouldn't recommend for English speaking people, you are not catered for. You can't participate in entertainment and it's hard to communicate. We wouldn't return for the...
Read moreI recently stayed at Riviera Cam Ranh Resort for a 3-day, 2-night vacation, and unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing, leading me to give this resort a 1-star rating.
Firstly, I was shocked to be charged an additional 400,000 VND per buffet breakfast for my 6-year-old child, totaling 800,000 VND for two mornings. This price is exorbitant, especially considering we had already paid 3.5 million VND per night for a bungalow. When I raised this concern, the resort’s response was curt and unhelpful, simply stating, “This is our policy.” This lack of transparency and unreasonable pricing soured my mood from the moment of check-in, casting a negative shadow over the entire trip.
Additionally, the resort primarily caters to large groups of Russian tourists, with dedicated staff assigned to serve them. As a Vietnamese guest, I felt marginalized and discriminated against in my own country. The lack of equal treatment and attention made the experience even more frustrating.
Overall, the combination of overpriced services, poor customer service, and the feeling of being treated as a second-class guest made this a highly unpleasant stay. I would not recommend Riviera Cam Ranh Resort to anyone seeking a relaxing and fair...
