Executive summary:|• Beautiful, lush green property with a genuine feeling of space.|• Excellent value for money.|• Excellent beach, pools and other facilities.|• Great food and wonderful service.|We stayed at this resort for six nights in July 2025 in a premium room. This resort is nothing short of spectacular in terms of the layout, facilities and the service. The hotel is a short 15 drive from Nha Trang airport and sits on the beachfront of one of the nicest beaches that we have encountered in terms of cleanliness and accessibility. There are huge areas of lawn that also add to the feelings of space and tranquility, at the time of our visit the hotel was at full capacity, but it never felt like it due to the open spaces and layout of the resort. There are well maintained gardens and with palm trees and the design of the buildings has a very authentic SE Asian feel to them. There are three decent sized pools, one of which is reserved for adults who might prefer a quieter time. In addition to being a beautiful environment the service at the resort was just on another level. There are five food and beverage outlets on the property, and we experienced four of them. There are two places at which you can take breakfast, The Indochine restaurant which offers an excellent buffet breakfast, but which at peak times can be a little crowded and busy. The alternative that we were offered as a “long stay” guest (more than 5 nights) was The Colonial which was a smaller, more intimate space with a menu option and a semi buffet for breakfast, afternoon tea and a fine dining French style menu in the evening. There was also a beach restaurant offering all day dining with a largely western style menu, which was a good option for our evening meal. The other restaurant was a Vietnamese style restaurant offering authentic cuisine from different regions of Viet Nam. The food quality in all these outlets was definitely in keeping with the five-star standard of the resort and represented excellent value for money. Our dinner at The Colonial cost us a third of what would we expect to pay in Hong Kong for similar fine dining experience. The service at all levels of the resort was exceptional. The table service for our dinner in the Colonial was as good as we have experienced anywhere; polite, non-intrusive, attentive and offering a deep knowledge of the food that we were being served and could explain what the dish was and the best way to appreciate it. Our server (Nhu) was simply outstanding. I should also make mention of Luah (Luan? – my apologies if I have misspelled) in the beach bar, another highly professional and friendly server who helped with food recommendations and excellent service. We also used the spa at the resort on two occasions and also found this to be a very professional and value for money experience. The spa is well set up, has a nice ambience and the therapists are very competent, I had two very good deep tissue massages during our stay. My one disappointment in the facilities was the gym / fitness room, which seemed a little unloved and in need of a few minor repairs to the machines. There was a set of dumbbells, a couple of weight stack machines, and a couple of treadmills, enough for a workout but nothing to get excited about. In summary if you are looking for a relaxing, tranquil environment, where you can lay by the beach, swim and enjoy some wonderful food this is the place in Nha Trang. The resort is about 40 minutes by bus (the resort runs a complementary shuttle) from the hustle and bustle of downtown Nha Trang, so you can visit and then retreat to the peace of the Anam afterwards. |We definitely plan to return for a second visit and would absolutely recommend to friends looking for a relaxing experience...
Read moreEdit: Not sure where the claim that I “was not open to that conversation” came from. I spoke with your Vietnamese manager, LyLy, for over 20 minutes on two separate occasions—at breakfast and check-out—about my concerns. She was apologetic, appreciative of my feedback, and understood when I mentioned I had no plans to delete my review.
However, when the Western manager approached me, he simply shook my hand and said, “There are things we can improve but there are things you just have to accept,” before walking away. That was a bizarre response from a hospitality manager. Now, reading his reply suggesting I wasn’t open to discussion feels like gaslighting. Why misrepresent what actually happened? The Anam has lovely landscaping with well-maintained trees and greenery, but unfortunately, that’s about the only positive thing I can say. Everything else about this resort felt disorganized, overpriced, and far below expectations.
The service was cold and uninterested—staff seemed distracted and unhelpful. Booking was a mess; first, I was quoted 10,800,000 VND for two nights over the phone, but when I received the email confirmation, the price had mysteriously increased to 11,430,000 VND. No explanation was given, just a higher price. It felt dishonest. On top of that, I’m still waiting for a refund due to a web booking error that had already been deducted from my bank account.
Check-in was chaotic, and later, a staff member even contacted me on Zalo asking for a picture of my ID, which felt completely unprofessional. The hotel itself is large but has terrible signage, making it confusing to navigate. There was not enough buggies to take guests. I almost tripped in the dark a few times getting back to my room.
My “premium” room was disappointing—smaller than the deluxe rooms and only on the second floor, making it feel like a downgrade rather than an upgrade (even with higher price tag). The bed was too soft, and the bathroom setup was inconvenient, with shampoo and shower gel only available at the bathtub, not the shower.
Breakfast was another mess. No one showed me where to sit, my table wasn’t cleaned or prepared, and I had to ask for a set of cutlery myself. Service at this price point should be seamless, not self-service.
There was also a wedding during my stay and they put loud pumping music for half a day which made it impossible to relax.
The location is also far from everything, and the food was both expensive and mediocre. After an incredible stay at the Intercontinental Nha Trang for even less money, The Anam felt like a complete letdown. Everything about this resort screams 2-star service at a 5-star price. I won’t...
Read moreFantastic 5 * Resort situated on a nice beach front. Water is quiet clear and usually free from rubbish. If you go beyond the resort beach then there is a lot of rubbish on the sand. Resort is big with immaculate detailed gardens, water fountains and artwork. Absolutely beautiful ! Our room was very large with L shape balcony over-looking gardens and entire beach views. Just gorgeous. We bought a 8 night Luxury Escapes Deal so this came with ocean views. We got an up-grade because we were looking at a large car park and a glimpse of the ocean which to me was not really what I had hoped for so they instantly gave us the top room up-grade. So so happy :-). The only negative was the water pressure in the shower and that the water went hot & cold while you were showering but not really a big deal when the room itself was outstanding, modern and clean. The super king sized bed with quality Irish linen was the best bed I have ever slept in. No word of a lie ! House Keeping did a excellent job and did a turn down service at night with a chocolate & 4 bottles of drinking water a day. Staff were exceptional. A couple of language barrier problems but most could speak reasonably good English and they are so professional, polite and go above customer expectations. Food was very good especially the A la carte restaurant. Breakfast buffet was really good especially the continental sections. We also had breakfast at the Fine Dining and that was lovely. They have another dining restaurant on the other side of the resort which is a buffet. Also fantastic. Wine is very expensive in Asia and they do not have good wine so i would recommend bringing duty free. Same with the coffee. Although at the resort it was OK. If you go into town there is no decent coffee. Regular shuttles go into Nha City which is around 40 minutes away. Very busy with traffic and we could not wait to go back to the resort. The Day Spa was well presented with very good staff who new their thing. We received 2 massages each and on both occasions very good. The Spa also have a M/F steam room and sauna and a spa bath. The negative was the Spa bath did not have enough jets and the water was so low that it was not really a spa and my partner said it was way to hot to even get into. The only other negative would be the cocktails at the resort were not made to a consistent standard and they were very weak in alcohol. I would however highly recommend this resort and we would love to return here one day. Thanks to all the staff for your fantastic...
