Supan Ecolodge & Spa — Hotel in Muong Hoa Commune

Huge disappointment. Throughout our 16 days in Vietnam and about 10 accommodations we always experienced great service. In this accommodation no one contacted us in advance. When we arrived on our own in the morning (the location is further away from the main road and the drive quite challenging, it would have been nice to be written to and notified), there was a promise to let us know when the room would be ready - they did not let us know. Overall the communication was cold, not friendly. Every accommodation in Vietnam has always meant super nice and helpful staff that made the place great. Every accommodation came with something, like fruit or a welcome drink (not important to us, but nice). Nothing here at the beginning. The pool was not completely clean and when we were lying by the pool and the staff came through, I asked if I could please have the drinks menu. The reply was that the menu was upstairs and to order there. Breakfast is not a buffet. There is no ATM on site. The rooms do not have a washing machine - a lot of the information from Booking is not true. Last things to mention is the fact that there are about 3 women always waiting outside the accommodation trying to sell you something. The accommodation doesn't do anything about it, on the contrary, it probably supports them (and maybe gets something out of it?) because the women also went directly to the accommodation to get water etc. I like to buy something from someone and let someone earn money, but I don't want to tell someone every time I go to / go from the accommodation that I don't want to buy anything and be bothered. We ended up dropping the hotel after the 1st night and found another place where we experienced a great atmosphere, warm attitude and genuine effort from the owners. This was a polished wretchedness. We were truly overwhelmed by the sheer beauty of the location, nestled amidst picturesque rice fields and majestic mountains near Sapa. The main house exudes a cozy charm, housing both the welcoming reception area and the delightful restaurant. Our bungalow, just steps away from the infinity pool, offered mesmerizing views of the surrounding landscapes.

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, their warmth and hospitality truly touching our hearts. Despite facing unforeseen challenges, including my girlfriend falling ill, they remained steadfast in their care and support. When her sudden illness struck, they not only offered immediate assistance but also provided us with their personal contact information, ensuring we felt supported throughout the night.

Despite our changing plans and numerous adjustments, they graciously accommodated every request with a smile, refusing any gesture of gratitude as they genuinely prioritized our well-being above all else. We are deeply thankful for their unwavering kindness and exceptional service, and without hesitation, we wholeheartedly recommend this extraordinary place. It truly deserves a perfect...

SCAM — this business engages in misleading advertising and manipulates reviews.

They falsely advertise amenities like a wellness center, massages, buffet breakfast, in-room fireplaces, and an onsite ATM, and more, none of which are actually available. We chose this place because of these advertised features, only to find they didn't exist. When we raised this with the staff, they admitted other guests have had the same complaints, but the owner has ignored these issues.

We noticed a lack of negative reviews on booking.com, which made sense as when we asked for a fair reimbursement they admitted fault and offered a measly $20USD — only if we canceled our booking, which would prevent us from leaving a review. They promised to update their site if we did this, but based on past complaints, it's clear this is just a tactic to silence dissatisfied guests. We opted to not to cancel/be reimbursed to warn potential future visitors, and will be disputing this further.
