We left Lotus Hotel this morning to continue our travels and we were so sad to leave this lovely place and this beautiful family.
We actually stumbled upon this hotel by accident. We had booked the hotel next door but there was a mistake with the booking and they couldn't accommodate us. Kindly we were offered to stay at the Lotus Hotel instead and after the initial disappointment of not getting the original hotel we booked, were so happy we didnt as we feel we got a much more homely and authentic experience.
Where to begin? ...
The rooms are so big, clean and comfortable. The best we've had so far in all of Asia. The view from the room and balcony across the Lotus Fields is stunning and so tranquil. Everyday the room is cleaned and stocked with more free water bottles too which is a lovely touch.
The breakfast of fresh fruit and homemade goodies is lovely. Simple and homely. You choose from the menu the night before and when you come down for breakfast the food is then prepare fresh for you. The Pho was our favourite.
There is free bicycle hire which made the journeys into Tam Coc and for lunch and dinner everyday super helpful. We also loved that our kids were able to play on them outside as the hotel sits on a quieter street off the main road. It felt idyllic and like a little slice of home away from home.
Lastly but most importantly the family who run this are just wonderful, wonderful people. They are so friendly, welcoming and kind. Just the nicest, most genuine people we have met in Vietnam so far. Our kids would often be downstairs hanging with the puppy and chatting with them. Or being offered snacks and fresh fruit from the trees to eat together. It was a beautiful sight.
Everyday they asked what our plans were and offered suggestions of things to see and places to go. They arranged taxis too for us back to Hanoi airport at a great rate and the driver was the best we've had so far in all of Vietnam.
They just made everything so lovely simply by being themselves. Nothing was a hassle and everything was done with a smile.
Our kids played with the sweet puppy every single day. She was so friendly, playful and funny. She too made our stay even more enjoyable which her cute little antics. We were so sad to say goodbye to her today.
I just cannot recommend this place enough. Our kids loved it. We loved it. And although we didn't get the stay we wanted in the beginning we definitely got the stay we needed in the end. It was a blessing the original one didn't work out. We will DEFINITELY stay here again and visit this beautiful family if we are ever back in Ninh Binh.
We loved it so much we went from staying for 2 nights to staying for 6 - and it still didn't feel like enough.
We have nothing but gratitude and love for all we experienced and the memories we...
Read moreExceptional family-owned hotel in a great location, situated away from the relatively noisy town area in Tam Coc. Unbeatable price for the quality and honestly such a wonderful stay. Visited in March when the lotuses were no longer blooming but the countryside scenery was still beautiful. Walkable distance to nearby eateries and easy to book a Grab to all nearby attractions in Ninh Binh. The hotel also provides free bicycles for guests to use.
The room was beautiful and well-furnished with everything you might need. The owners were so attentive during our stay and they always chatted with us to see how we were doing. They were so helpful with things such as booking tours and arranging our airport transfers. I had booked 1 day short by mistake and the owner was kind enough to extend our booking by 1 day while still giving us a fantastic rate.
Breakfast every morning was a small but delicious spread of fruits and both local and Western-style fare. The Vietnamese noodle dishes were cooked to order by the owners and it was so good that I'd rather just have my breakfast in the hotel every morning. The lobby is also home to 3 of the sweetest little dogs who would greet us and the other guests every morning. There's a nice clean pool for guests but we didn't use it as the weather was still slightly cold in March.
I can't recommend this hotel enough and I will stay here again if I return...
Read moreAbsolutely loved our stay here! The hotel is beautiful and the staff are amazing! This brand new property is family owned and operated and it's easy to tell, as they go out of their way to ensure your stay is absolutely fantastic!
We opted to visit Ninh Binh for a few days rather than doing a day trip and we are so glad we did! The people here are so friendly, everyone says hi as you look around the quite little town!
Breakfast was included in our stay and it was home cooked every morning, and the owner spoke with us everyday to offer suggestions and to make sure any questions about our itinerary were answered. Bike rentals were also included in the stay which we opted for most days, but if you'd prefer motor bike they rent those at the property as well. We also took advantage of their laundry service which was quick and fairly priced!
When we booked our onward travel the staff assisted us in booking transfer back to the Hanoi airport and it ended up being cheaper than booking ourselves through bookaway. The airline than changed the time of our flight and he was able to reschedule the transfer which would have been a hassle for us if we had booked ourselves!
Overall our stay was amazing and we truly enjoyed our time at Lotus, would highly recommend if your thinking of...
