Restaurant review: A culinary experience in a class of its own
On my last visit to Nha Hang Duc Dan, I was able to experience a true culinary delight that left a lasting impression on me. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The ambience, characterized by stylish yet cosy furnishings, immediately made me look forward to what was to come.
The service was simply perfect. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and demonstrated an impressive knowledge of the menu. Every request was fulfilled immediately and I felt completely at ease and valued throughout my stay. The unobtrusive manner in which the team ensured everything ran smoothly deserves a special mention - you could feel the professionalism in every second.
The food itself was a real highlight. The menu offered an exquisite selection of typical local dishes, prepared with great attention to detail. The starter, a crispy salad with fresh regional ingredients, was a perfect prelude and already showed that fresh and high-quality products are used here.
For the main course, I opted for the roasted goat in an iron pan, which not only impressed with its variety of flavors, but also with its appealing presentation. The flavors were perfectly balanced and every bite was a delight. The portions were generous without being overloaded - just right to end the evening full and satisfied.
The dessert, a homemade [dessert], also left nothing to be desired and rounded off the menu perfectly. The sweetness was spot on and the texture of the dessert was a true masterpiece.
To sum up, Nha Hang Duc Dan is a place I can recommend without reservation. If you are looking for authentic, local delicacies and value first-class service, you will get your money's worth here. A visit is worthwhile in every respect - I will certainly...
Read more100% recommend this restaurant! Great place to try Ninh Binh goat dishes!
I picked this place as I noticed this restaurant had both excellent as well as very recent reviews when my husband and I were looking for dinner outside going into Tam Coc. The food was amazing! We ordered the fried pork spring rolls and the roast goat (both off an English menu kindly provided by the host which made ordering super easy!).
Everything was clearly made fresh and to order. The roast goat comes out on a HOT cast iron pan so it is sizzling and delicious, and amongst the goat pieces are cloves of garlic and shallot which roasts on the iron and becomes sweet and soft. The goat comes with rice, mixed herbs, sauce and pineapple alongside rice paper to roll it all up in. It was fantastic!
The lady who ran the restaurant was amazing and courteous and helpful the entire time, making sure we were well fed and looked after!...
Read moreDon’t let the exterior fool you! Everywhere has the same goat menu but not all places execute it equally. I’ve read enough reviews to know the secret to getting a good meal in Ninh Binh: ask for the Vietnamese menu, not the tourist’s English menu.
They were amused by this request and even though we needed to Google each item on the menu, it was well worth it. Goat comes with crispy aromatics, fried garlic, rice paper, herbs, fresh pineapple and an incredible sauce for making your own hand rolls. Goat blood soup was great, salty and savoury with crunchy bits reminiscent of a terrine. The goat sausage came with an intriguing leaf with great crunch.
The owners were warm and hospitable, taking pride in what they do. We came at 3:30pm and were the only people dining, but they served us with big smiles and even gave us a complimentary small, local pineapple...
